Solutions

  1. Alex0010's post in [solved] OS not booting with last update on Cubieboard 1 was marked as the answer   
    Those were CUPS modules, which I do not use - it got pulled along with Samba I guess. I removed their conf files from /etc/modules-load.d/ and now my system boots fine.
     
    Thanks for all the help, but please don't do this again guys
