Solutions

  1. Bob Deblier's post in Odroid HC2 with recent armbian experiencing problems during apt-get was marked as the answer   
    Problem solved by adding an ASCII version of armbian.gpg in /etc/ap/trusted.gpg.d/; now the only remaining mystery is how that key disappeared from there.
