Updating kernel on Rock64

Sorry if this in the wrong spot.

I need a bit of help here, I once or twice updated the kernel on the Rock64 from older versions but I've always ran into an issue where it just wouldn't boot anymore and needed to be re-flashed.

I run a always up server that has to have little to no downtime and I wish to avoid having to re-flash again. So I want to know if its safe or not to upgrade to 4.4.174 from 4.4.167
