ERROR: problem running iptables: modprobe: FATAL: Module ip_tables not found in directory /lib/modules/5.10.123-meson64

Featured Replies

Hello,

After a firmware update today I got a problem with Wireguard on my Odroid-hc4. I got that when checking ufw status,

sudo ufw status verbose
ERROR: problem running iptables: modprobe: FATAL: Module ip_tables not found in directory /lib/modules/5.10.123-meson64
iptables v1.8.7 (legacy): can't initialize iptables table `filter': Table does not exist (do you need to insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.

How to fix that?

Laurent

And

sudo modprobe ip_tables
[sudo] Mot de passe de xxxxxxx :
modprobe: FATAL: Module ip_tables not found in directory /lib/modules/5.10.123-meson64

Edited by houdini_69
wrong command

ls /lib/modules/
5.10.144-meson64

So modules aren't available for 5.10.123-meson64 on my system after update.

I checked in a fresh image on armbian site (Armbian_22.08.1_Odroidhc4_bullseye_current_5.10.139) and indeed there all modules available included ip_tables modules.

How to get those modules for my kernel? Or I have to do a complete install (I haven't any backup sadly)?

run apt update & apt upgrade didn't propose me a new kernel.

I run unchanged Armbian Bullseye for Odroid-hc4 since February 2022.

Never mind. You are doing a great job with Armbian!
