i use my BananaPI M2 Plus as a home router.

 

i have eth0, eth0.10 (vlan 10), eth0.1111 (vlan 1111)

 

on eth0 i have External IP from ISP by DHCP (original MAC ADDRESS)

on eth0.10 i have internal IP (192.168.10.1) (different - generated MAC ADDRESS)

on eth0.1111 have external IP from ISP for settopboxes. (cloned MAC ADDRESS from settopbox)

 

my issue is that 192.168.10.1 is unreachable after reboot. Have no idea why.

 

i discover that if i switch eth0.10 to promiscuous mode (tcpdump -c 10 -i eth0.10) after reboot it works.

 

any idea to make it less dirty?

You didn't say which OS you are using, since your here on this forum, i'll assume its either debian or ubuntu?

 

Did you define your interfaces in /etc/network/interfaces? if so, under the section

iface eth0.10 

try adding a line

    post-up tcpdump -c 10 -i eth0.10

i have debian, this tcpdump command i have at rc.local, but your solution is better.

What is interesting me is why i must do that?
