So,

 

Just installed Arbian Xenial mainline/stable on a 32Gb microSD on a Cubietruck. Everything seems to be working well except when I attach an external USB 3.0 1Tb disk. It seems to keep issuing some kind of ATA command to query the disk and cause a clicking. I know its not the disk because it works fine elsewhere and theres some info in the dmesg about it (which I will post when I get a chance).

 

Is this a known bug or not? And if Im able to track down the bug and fix it where should I submit a PR?

This is usually an indication that power supply (for USB drive) is not sufficient. You have extra power supply or you power via USB? In this case, try connecting via powered USB hub.

Ah OK. Makes perfect sense. I'll give it a try and report back, thank you.

Try the other USB port. It sounds funny, but at my cubietruck it works at least for a 2.5" external drives.
