Mozilla sound issue

Featured Replies

Hi All!

I am running latest jessie desktop, and experience problems with pre-insatalled mozilla. There is no sound, except on the youtube site, that runs html 5 player. What can i do to bring sound back? All the online players looking like playing, but i hear only silence.

Guys, please help. Only I have such problem? Tried to install pubuntu - it has chromium and there's all ok in it, but i do not want pubuntu. I like armbian. So i do have sound in my firefox browser only in youtube (html5 player). In every other site i havent. Cubebutils shows the stream when playing a song online  but i have silence in my speakers (everywhere except youtube).

You can install chromium in debian based armbian(from source or binary from rpi repo). Try different firefox bilds, check alsa/pulseaudio settings.

Pulseaudio is ok

Since there is sound with HTML5 I would also guess that lack of sound in other cases may be due to missing Flash support.

i guess so too.

Freiends, i will be very grateful if you point for me really 100% working solution.

I had tried to install a plenty of chromium, but all i had got when tried to run them - only the window header.

solved. issue was in lack of flash. installed chromium (hardly) and then pepperflash with resolving some dependencies. If i do remeber - will write tomorrow. Here is 5 am now and i will go to sleep ;)

Okay.

I had installed from here:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/armhf/chromium-browserand https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/armhf/chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra

added these repos:

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-freedeb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-freedeb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-freedeb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-freedeb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-freedeb-src http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free

then updated libc6

apt-get install libc6 -t testing

and resolved two more dependencies with installing by hands libraries libcrypt11_1.5.0-5+deb7u5_armhf.deb and libudev0_175-7.2_armhf.deb

then somewhere dowloaded PepperFlash-12.0.0.77-armv7h.tar.gz (latest version didnt work, so i left this) and put it to /usr/lib.

then edited /etc/chromium-browser/default with the line:

CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--ppapi-flash-path=/usr/lib/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so --ppapi-flash-version=12.0.0.77 -password-store=detect -user-data-dir"

i should admit, that chromium runs only as chromium-browser --renderer-cmd-prefix='env' in evry other case i got "Awww, catch" on every page.
