Filename with Asian characters under mount.cifs of windows7 NTFS folder.

Featured Replies

Hi, file names with Asian characters are displayed as "?????" in Armbian.

$ sudo mount.cifs //192.168.0.200/y /media/200_y -o user=armuser

$ ls -1 /media/200_y/

"??????_text.txt"

"banner_????.jpg"

$ cat /etc/default/locale

#  File generated by update-locale
LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8
##LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
###LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8
LC_ALL=
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE=ko_KR.UTF-8

## For your Information, in my ubuntu, there's no such a problem. It displays the above file names with proper Asian characters.

Thank you in advance for any hint!!

Maybe try to change the mount option :

sudo mount.cifs //192.168.0.200/y /media/200_y -o user=armuser,iocharset=utf8

One additional thing I forgot to mention: I'm accessing the Armbian on Orange Pi Lite through SSH.
