Olinuxino micro A20 sata disk issue

Featured Replies

Hello,

Using Vanilla Jessie latest image and used sd to sata/usb script to put everything on an 8gb usb stick.

Everything works fine.

When i add a 2.5 " sata hard drive system does not boot. Green light goen on, disk starts to spin and after a couple of seconds disk stops spinning and only red light stays on.

I tried connecting sata disk after booting and i can see the disk through fdisk -l. (I put the disk on power after booting the system)

I use this adapter:Power supply adapter 12V/1A , bought from olimex.

Any idea what might be the case?Maybe there is not enough power to start hard disk while booting?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried plugging a serial port adapter into the UART to get an idea of why it isn't booting?

I am not familliar with the whole process. I ll read a bit on it and i ll give it a try.

Thank you,

Section "2.6 Interacting with the board" on page 11 of the User manual would be a good start  :)

Are you running windows or linux on your PC? You will need to run something like putty or minicom on the host PC to use that cable.
