Can anyone recommend a usb adapter that works with Armbian on Rock64  wifi access point/hotspot.

I tried a  few I had but none work as access point.

Thanks

I looked at the list.  It doesn't look like these are available on the US market.  I was thinking they may not work here

They are, but perhaps under different brand name. You will need to do some research on your local Amazon or elsewhere. Chip is important - its also written below. Seek for RTL8811 RTL8812  RTL3572 ...

This will work https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FCNP2VL/ref=emc_b_5_t for example. If you need something more powerful ... https://www.amazon.com/Alfa-AC1900-WiFi-Adapter-Long-Range/dp/B01MZD7Z76

If one is 2.4GHz only - the ath9k stuff is great...

My personal favorite is the Alfa AWUS036NHA - aka the "black alfa" - very good wifi, and a very fun adapter as the drivers for it are in the kernel mainline, so it's basically plug and play...

Atheros (and Qualcomm) gave a great gift to the FOSS community by opening up the driver source, so it's a great hacker card.

They're a little spendy - $38USD on the Amazon US site
