Does anyone know what sort of latency there is using mainline hw accelerated video encoding on Allwinner H3(H.264/265)? How about latency of mjpeg(if it is supported)? I'm trying to build a system with lowest possible latency. 

Encoding isn't supported by mainline kernel, unless you modify kernel like some people on this forum.

Are there some instructions how to do it that you're aware of? I don't need very detailed instructions, just an idea what needs to be done (what patches applied etc). 

 

Also, could someone who did it comment on the latency, please?

Best to ask in one of existing topics. Oh, only H264 encoding is supported.
