July 12, 20251 yr Currently using Armbian as a PiHole DNS server, it seems that after a few days the server just shuts itself down (Armbian 25.5.1 Noble 6.12). Not sure if it is a hardware related issue, I'll do some more tests and revert back to 25.2.2 Bookworm for now and see if the issue is replicated. Please note that my primary Armbian PiHole DNS does not encounter the same issue, though the version of it is Noble v25.2.3 / 6.12.30.

July 13, 20251 yr I have an orangepione running bookworm and am not having any problems with it. I will load up another unit with noble and see how it runs. v25.5.1 for Orange Pi One running Armbian Linux 6.12.30-current-sunxi Packages: Debian stable (bookworm) IPv4: (LAN) 192.168.1.65 (WAN) 209.121.228.132 IPv6: fd05:ce26:d593:0:81:2fff:fe1a:671e (WAN) 2001:569:5143:f100:81:2fff:fe1a:671e Performance: Load: 2% Up time: 11 days 2:09 Memory usage: 19% of 484M Zram usage: 1% of 1.00G CPU temp: 36°C Usage of /: 31% of 15G
July 14, 20251 yr @ER Samson To help figure out why your unit is stopping you could connect to it via an ssh session and as root run "journalctl -f". this might catch any error messages just prior to failure. When running with logs in zram, as Armbian does, the last messages in the logs are quite often lost when the system abruptly stops.
August 2, 20251 yr Author Thanks, I was on vacation since July 16, apologies for the late reply. I added a fan for now, let's see if it doesn't turn off.
August 16, 20251 yr Author Just wanted to close this off after a two-week test. With the fan, it did not shutdown at all. Pretty much the issue is overheating. Thanks for all the help!
