August 20Aug 20 I want to share a solution to a problem that I had: Problem: The problem was that no HDDs nor JMB585 were being detected. If I run the `lspci -nn`, it would show no devices: # lspci -nn And there were some `PCIe link training gen1 timeout` in the kernel messages. root@helios64:/home/amreo# dmesg | grep -Ei 'sata|ahci|scsi|ata|sas|sd[a-z]|helios' [ 0.000000] Machine model: Kobol Helios64 [ 0.000000] NODE_DATA(0) allocated [mem 0xf77c6800-0xf77c8fbf] [ 0.000000] printk: log buffer data + meta data: 262144 + 917504 = 1179648 bytes [ 0.016416] CPU features: detected: ARM errata 1165522, 1319367, or 1530923 [ 0.022065] Memory: 3778312K/4061184K available (17856K kernel code, 2818K rwdata, 11452K rodata, 2816K init, 696K bss, 143288K reserved, 131072K cma-reserved) [ 0.130465] SCSI subsystem initialized [ 0.130732] libata version 3.00 loaded. October 3Oct 3 Same issue on a Helios64 with Armbian 26.8.1 trixie minimal, kernel 6.18.43: ``` rockchip-pcie f8000000.pcie: PCIe link training gen1 timeout! rockchip-pcie f8000000.pcie: probe with driver rockchip-pcie failed with error -110 ``` No ata* ports, no disks. pcie_aspm=off didn't help. Fixed by downgrading the kernel to 6.12.58. No overlay was needed: ``` apt install linux-image-current-rockchip64=25.11.2 linux-dtb-current-rockchip64=25.11.2 linux-headers-current-rockchip64=25.11.2 apt-mark hold linux-image-current-rockchip64 linux-dtb-current-rockchip64 linux-headers-current-rockchip64 reboot ```
