Hi guys.

 

I have the Orange pi zero and the usb expansion board but i still want a couple more usb ports.

 

Can i solder leads directly to the pi or am i better off using a powered usb hub?

you cant solder extra leads - because that woudlnt give you more USB-ports.

The only solution for you - for getting more but shared USB-Ports - is to use a (active) USB-Hub.
