Alpine Linux 3.9 released with better ARM support

Featured Replies

Alpine is not nearly as feature rich as many other distro's, I mainly see it deployed in containers using Docker...

They do have a very good wiki article on how to onboard ARM SoC's including some good stuff on u-Boot (that might be useful for folks working to onboard a new board into Armbian)

Armbian has an easy way of compiling kernel as well (just incase), so look below: - Till we fill this section with Alpine way of compiling things

Create a VM Ubuntu 14.04 LTS x64 server image with 40GB of disk (dont need install any compilation tools, the scripts will download suitable)

apt-get -y -qq install git

git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib

cp lib/compile.sh .

vim compile.sh

Please make sure you have the following options as follows

but indeed, the u-boot stuff is nicely summed up.
