RockPi S Ethernet 10mbps not working
Hi again, It took some time but finally I was able to take a look at it myself. It seems to me that the original kernel patch from @brentr is still a working solution as the affected kernel code didn't change in the current kernel. So by applying the original patch, 10mpbs Ethernet started working again on my Rockpi S. I'm not able I created PR #8575 - Fixes regression of failing 10Mbit built-in Ethernet in Rockpi S to add the patch again. I hope, that's ok as I'm lacking experience in this field so please apologize if I missed something, I just want to help and improve ๐ Cheers,

Self-build minimal image for RockPI-S too big
Thank you all, I appreciate your patience! ๐ I'm not sure on how deep I should go here. I started to learn about the process to address the problem that 10mpbs ethernet not is not working on my Rockpi S and I now know enough to deal with this problem. So my feeling is to not go further but focus on the functional problem to solve it ๐ Thanks again!

Self-build minimal image for RockPI-S too big
Hi, many thanks for your hints @brentr and @laibsch! ๐ Using COMPRESS_OUTPUTIMAGE=xz did the trick and the image size is now more in an expected range. However, using the paramters and commandline above gives me an image with a size of 342MB whereas the current rolling Trixie image is 273MB. I don't think it is a big deal, but I still would like to understand the difference ๐ Cheers

Self-build minimal image for RockPI-S too big
Hi, trying to get a bit deeper into Armbian, I tried to create my own minimal Trixie-based image for the RockPI-S. I'm using a Ubuntu Noble VM and I managed to run a successfull build following the quick start guide. However, creating an image using ./compile.sh build BOARD=rockpi-s BRANCH=current BUILD_MINIMAL=yes KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no RELEASE=trixie leads to an image with a size around 1.5GB. Compared to the downloadable minimal images, which have 200MB-300MB, this is quite large. Does anyone has any hints on how to proceed in order to self-build images comparable to the ones offered for download? Cheers,

RockPi S Ethernet 10mbps not working
Hi, I noticed, that the bug has been fixed, many thanks and kudos to @brentr! ๐ I'm uncertain how to proceed now. Just looking at the dates, I suppose that the fix is not included in the current stable release as the release is from November and the fix has been merged end of December. Do I need to use the rolling image with the current and not the edge kernel in order to get 10MBit running again? Or is there any other way to include the fix in the current stable release? Cheers

RockPi S Ethernet 10mbps not working
Hello! Iโm trying to get a RockPi S connected by a slow ethernet connection with 10mbps (half or full duplex) but it doesnโt seem to work. If I test with a 100mbps connection, everything works fine and as expected. Using 10mbps, it seems to look fine, e.g. ethtool shows a link with 10mpbs, advertised modes look fine but the RockPi S doesnโt even retrieve an IP via DHCP. If configuring a static IP, no ping to any address beside the own IP address is possible. Iโm using latest debian-based armbian 23.8.1 stable and performed apt-get update & upgrade. Anyone encountered the same problem and has some hints? Unfortunately Iโm not a linux pro so unfortunately Iโm a bit stuck but Iโm happy to provide any missing information or execute commands on the RockPi S and post the results here. Cheers
