S805 Tech's specs and latest Armbian version

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I'm new to these boards and armbian.

I've checked the forums but i have some questions that can be also helpfull for other peoples.

1) hardware specs

My board (You can see there https://ibb.co/ZSbw62q) is a AM_MXQ_A 20150825 i can see on the board these chips:

- MAIN CPU => AMLOGIC S8005

- GPU => ????

- WIFI => REALTEK IC RTL8189ETV 802.11b/g/n 1T1R

- (S)DRAM => 2X HYNIX DDR3 H5TQ4G63AFR-PBC 4Gb x16 x1 1600 29nm FBGA96 √ (792MHz) √ (636MHz)

- STORAGE (NAND) => SANDISK MLC SDTNRGAMA-008GK 8GB 1 40bit /1024B 1ynm TSOP48 Note 1

Why ram is 1gb if there are 2x4gb on board?? Are also used for system as a storage?

Can't find GPU on this board is missing?

2) Armbian what's the best version/release for this board? The only one i've got working is Armbian_5.32_S805_Ubuntu_xenial_3.10.33_mate_20170821 (suggested by karkow in this thread at page 6). Maybe there's a latest version that run better/faster?

3) It's possible to install in NAND? I've read trought sites but cannot find a final word on this

Thanks a lot for any response and for the wonderfull works!

Rob
