Hello,

 

I freshly installed Armbian Buster 20.02.3 with 5.4.21-meson64 and also compiled Kodi 18.6 from source by following this guide. It seems however that I cannot get any HDMI sound and ALSA gives me:

 

aplay: device_list:272: no soundcards found...

 

Could it be that I am missing something fundamental or is this a known issue?

IIRC you need more recent build for audio / video features. Build on your own. For KODi ... i have no idea if and how to get it working.

Thank you for the prompt reply! Not really comfortable with this process (kernel patching noob here) but I will give it a try and share the results.

 

Any hints/instructions on how to begin? Could it be so "easy" as this link suggests?
