Hi folks,

 

I have an old S905X Box that I want to install Armbian on but am completely lost - I tried following this page https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12162-single-armbian-image-for-rk-aml-aw-aarch64-armv8/  But it talks of things like editing uEnv.txt but I cant find that file.  Can somebody talk me through, step by step how to install Armbian on an S905x box?  I can boot from SDCard as I have one formatted with Coreelec but Android is still on the internal hardware. 

Ordinarily, the best place to start is https://www.armbian.com/download/, and grab an appropriate image for your board.

 

If you happen to have a TV box, like you suggest in your link, you might be better suited to ask in https://forum.armbian.com/forum/41-support-armbian-tv/?

The instructions you are looking for are in the first post of the thread you reference.  Note the warning in that post that says if you have used coreelec you will need to restore your box to original firmware before being able to use armbian as coreelec messes with the boot loader in way incompatible with the armbian approach.
