Hi there, 

I would like to play hardware accelerated video with VLC on orangepi lite. Any idea how this can be done?

When I tried it on RaspberryPi, it has option to select OpenmaxIL. Is this possible on Orangepi Lite, too? 

 

(I installed vlc but there is no OpenmaxIL option)

Mentioned link has discussion about issues with hw acceleration (libvdpau-sunxi). Anyway, you must forget anything you know about video on Raspberry Pi and start learning again. OpenMAX is rarely used outside RPi and Android. VDPAU is used here.

oh ok, thank you for clarification. I hoped that the same openmax is used here. I thought about compiling vlc with openmaxIL but it seems It does not make sense to do it.
