Pine64 - LCD but no HDMI

My Pine64 boots using Armbian_5.30_Pine64_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.10.105_desktop. I have added  

pine64_lcd=on

to /boot/armbianEnv.txt  and updated the module file. But now when I plug in HDMI nothing displays on the HDMI screen. I also can not see it as a secondary display. Is it possible to have both displays on or can I only have one, having to remove LCD if I want HDMI output?
