Armbian for Pendoo X6 PRO?

Featured Replies

Hi all,  I am a (not so) proud owner of a Pendoo X6 PRO and i'm trying to convert it into a NAS but dealing with the android APKs on such old android version is a nightmare, so i'm opting for ARMbian but without any success so far... i've tried to use the images for the TX6 which supposedly has the same CPU but when i insert the SD card i just get a black screen, black 7 segments display and no ethernet cable activity...
i'm attaching the hardware report hoping for a miracle, thank you to whoever will decide to spend some time guiding me on this project

According to your info report your Pendoo box is an amlogic based machine. Take a look to at the aml-S9xx-box image on the Armbian site. There are instructions for setting up amlogic tv boxes of various types.  I have an old x96mini that has an S905W chip in it and that uses the p281 set up. See if that gets you anywhere. Assuming the Pendoo box really is an amlogic based machine and the Armbian image doesn't work, you might try the GitHub site of a developer named devmfc.  His images are not Armbian but they boot on a number of boxes not supported by members of the Armbian community. Hope that last bit doesn't get either of us in trouble. Maybe some of the foregoing will help.

yes, this looks like a very poorly frankensteined box: on paper it's amlogic but then the CPU is an Allwinner H6 (as far as i understand)
this is why i was trying to use images for the Tanix TX6 which should use the same processor (and also the box itself looks suspiciously similar)

update 2:
in the end i found out that with termux and some other android apps i can get it to be a quite functional server, so i gave up on armbian for the time being.
I hope that the DTS i've extracted may be helpful to somebody with my same hardware and more knowledge but for now i give up on armbian (for this specific box)
thank you for all the help
