  1. Reimu NotMoe has designed the “Notkia” PCB based on Ingenic X1000E MIPS processor with 64MB built-in RAM and following the exact same dimensions as the PCB found in Nokia 168x phones (1680, 1681, 1682), and allowing the phone to run mainline Linux. The board also comes with 32MB NOR flash, a 4GB SLC NAND flash, and supports LoRa, 2.4 GHz WiFi, Bluetooth, and GNSS connectivity, but no cellular modem. The initial design was Combining Nokia 168x phone with Notkia PCBA creates a phone with the following specifications: SoC – Ingenic X1000E single-core XBurst MIPS processor @ 1.0 GHz (2200+ CoreMark) with 64MB RAM Storage – 32MB NOR flash + 4GB SLC NAND flash Display – 2.0-i…

  3. I’ve tested a few security cameras with human and vehicle detection capabilities, but Reolink has now added animal detection via the KEEN Ranger PT trail camera mostly designed to monitor four-legged animals in the wild. It’s somewhat similar to the Reolink Go Plus 4G camera with solar power support and 4G LTE connectivity, but also offers a 360° view with pan/tilt control, a low-glow IR night vision, a 0.5s fast trigger speed, as well as GPS to track the position of cameras or sightings of animals on the mobile app. KEEN Ranger PT camera key features and specifications: Camera/Video Image Sensor – 1/3″ CMOS Sensor Video Resolution – 2K 4MP high definition (2560 x 1440 @ …

  12. Espressif Systems ESP32-C5 is an upcoming wireless RISC-V microcontroller for IoT applications that supports dual-band (2.4 & 5.0 GHz) WiFi 6 connectivity as well as Bluetooth 5.0 LE. It is the first dual-band processor from Espressif, as while the Shanghai-based company previously announced the ESP32-C6 WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 LE RISC-V SoC last year, it only supports 2.4 GHz frequency. Note it’s not the first dual-band WiFi 6 IoT chip on the market as NXP introduced the IW612 Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 802.15.4 tri-radio solution last January, but ESP32-C5 should target different use cases. 14. The Wi-R protocol is a non-radiative near-field communication technology that uses Electro-Quasistatic (EQS) fields for communication enabling the body to be used as a conductor and that consumes up to 100x less energy per bit compared to Bluetooth. In a sense, Wi-R combines wireless and wired communication. Wi-R itself only has a wireless range of 5 to 10cm, but since it also uses the body to which the Wi-R device is attached, the range on the conductor is up to 5 meters. While traditional wireless solutions like Bluetooth create a 5 to 10-meter field around a person, the Wi-R protocol creates a body area network (BAN) that could be used to connect a smartphone to a pace…

  34. Sphery vs. shapes is an open-source 3D raytraced game written in C and translated into FPGA bitstream that runs 50 times more efficiently on FPGA hardware than on an AMD Ryzen processor. Verilog and VHDL languages typically used on FPGA are not well-suited to game development or other complex applications, so instead, Victor Suarez Rovere and Julian Kemmerer relied on Julian’s “PipelineC” C-like hardware description language (HDL) and Victor’s CflexHDL tool that include parser/generator and math types library in order to run the same code on PC with a standard compile, and on FPGA through a custom C to VHDL translator. This functionality was not added to the new build system but worked just fine up until v23.02. In my opinion linux-libc-dev should always be created when building an armbian kernel as the kernel versions often differ greatly from the ones natively in the distros (eg. debian bookworm: 6.1.76 vs. armbian current 6.6.21). Also the armbian package source previously included the package but does not anymore, so the latest updates available were 23.02.2. 38. Description The "swapaccount=" option has been deprecated in 6.1. Disable it in almost all boot scripts except "boot-sun50iw9.cmd" since that one is used in sun50iw9 legacy kernel, which is version 4.9. In theory, rk3588-legacy is also still <6.1, but that boot script is also used by 6.1 vendor kernel and the amount of new images being built/used with the 5.10 legacy kernel is likely minimal. As far as I know, bootscript won't update automatically, so these changes will only apply to freshly built images. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe the error is specific to certain configurations and will return, so please don't merge until CI has done some tests and a build was successful. 49. Description A patch for Pinebook Pro was not applying cleaning on current 5.15 rockchip64 kernel flavour, turns out that Orange Pi 4 LTS has no more HDMI video output and dmesg is lamenting about a missing extcon connector over fusb driver. fusb driver has the control over video output since it has the capacity to steer video output from HDMI to DP via USB type-c connector. A broken fusb driver causes broken video output; this problem can be shared among all boards that depend upon it. This pull request fixes the application of the Pinebook Pro patch, and perhaps fixes the Orange Pi 4 LTS broken video output. edit: I confirm, fixing the patch fixes also video output on…

  70. Description Uboot v2024.01 leaves HDMI/VOP and USB ports in a state that is not liked by vendor kernel tools (eg. the Multitool), thus making their usage difficult or impossible. These patches will assert the resets for HDMI, VOP and USB ports and deassert them on uboot exit, so the kernel (any kernel) will find them in active and "clean" state. Nerd note: the USB nodes in uboot device tree do not have the reset properties. Adding the reset properties makes the USB ports undetectable to the kernel because uboot - on purpose - leaves the devices with the reset asserted. To let the kernel detect the ports, you have to add the reset properties in the kernel device tree too…

So boards affected by https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/6534 like nanopi6 and nanopc-t6 should also check this. @efectn @Tonymac32 How Has This Been Tested? Please describe the tests that you ran to verify your changes. Please also note any relevant details for your test configuration. 91. Pixel Pump is an open-source hardware vacuum pump that should be easier to use than a pair of tweezers to pick and place SMT components, and suitable for prototypes and small production runs. The system comes with a pen with five exchangeable stainless-steel nozzles to match the size of components, a foot pedal, and several tactile silicone buttons with RGB backlighting to control the unit. The button on the unit (customized parts bought from Alibaba) allows you to change operation modes, switch between high- and low-power settings, or activate reverse mode to clean your nozzle. It’s also possible to configure vacuum power and LED brightness with the buttons. The foot ped…
