  3. give the yaml lore link and prefix in 000.patching.config.yaml if prefix not found in any file in main patch dir, will grab full patch using b4 write it out with the prefix to main patch dir force a rewrite if file with prefix found, it will skip just delete the file to re-do prefixes should not ever change, and the full b4-provided slug will be appended; respect the "standard" of the patching dir by using the correct prefix View the full article

  24. Copied from #4255 by @hzyitc - added shellfmt and .editorconfig for consistency Description I notice that the first commit of armbian-next contains too many things (armbian-next: huge refactor, shellfmt, codesplit, logging/error handling). It's really hard to find out what changes we do, because we both split /lib/*.sh and change the code in one commit. It will loss the association between master and armbian-next. This PR is just split /lib/*.sh without changing any codes (except the first commit and the remove of source in /lib/main.sh). So users can find out where the codes come and then following the original commit log. If we want to merge armbian-next, this PR ca…

  26. Description The idea is to introduce the possibility to cache downloads from GH runners to lower downstream bandwidth used and increase overall speed. Especially on machines with lots of runner this could save quite some bandwidth while sacrificing disk space. http caching has been tested and seem to work nicely. https caching is a lot more tricky and may be introduced later. This PR has two parts: set apt repository to http instead of https where possible. Packages are signed anyways. Pass various proxy environment variables to docker so it respects those. Doesn't make sense not to pass them since when using PREFER_DOCKER=no and any of these variables are set beforeh…

  39. Proposal to create a Community Supported config for Amlogic based TV Boxes to pickup the work that was done previously by balbes150 but is no longer supported by him. This also provides a place where development can occur within the Armbian framework since others on the internet are producing builds called Armbian that are not done from within the Armbian community. The strategy for Amlogic based TV Boxes has been to reuse the native u-boot that comes installed on the box on emmc. Through a process called 'multiboot enabling' a u-boot script is run to change the default u-boot environment to have the boot process look for a chain-loaded u-boot on either the sd card or us…

  49. Description In order to tidy up (see this PR), Radxa Rock-s0 board patch has been revised to work with the mainline device tree, and avoid shred it. 54. In my initial commit I assumed CONFIG_USE_PREBOOT=y was enabled by default. I was wrong. As reported by MicroLinux (Salva) on DISCORD the unit was still having issues booting. I sent him a patch I use which enables preboot and he reported back that "It boots fine now". NOTES: The patch he tested also had boot logo support enabled. In my testing boot logo support is not required. If for some reason in the future there are still eMMC boot issues, than maybe adding a slight delay "sleep 2" to preboot would suffice. https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/5858 Checklist: [ ] My code follows the style guidelines of this project [ ] I have performed a self-review of my own c…

  57. Description This PR adds a board config file for RPi 5. While on it, the PR also removes dependency on flash-kernel. Instead some custom scripts are added into the bsp package for installation of updated dtb, kernel and initrd files. Using both rpi4b and rpi5b will produce images compatible with rpi5, but the image created with BOARD=rpi5b will not run on older hardware. The kernel config, patches etc are shared between both boards. To prevent creating new family for RPI5 specific kernel, I have added support for something I call kernel variants. This is basically going to be almost same kernel with extremely small changes that doesn't justify creating new family and yet …

Removed necessary config options: all u-boot configs are custom we avoid FAT boot if possible. This hardware boots from ext4 without problems. Changing to fat will not help in reliability. armbian wireless package have all firmware needed for this hw and for most popular USB dongles.
