  2. Xiaomi Moaan InkPalm Plus is a 5.84-inch eReader powered by the same Rockchip RK3566 processor found in Pine64 PineNote 10.3-inch Linux eReader, and currently selling for 999 CNY, or about $150 US, on JD.com after a 100 CNY discount. The device looks more like a smartphone than an eReader with its relatively small display, but there must be demand for this type of hardware since it succeeds the earlier InkPlam 5 eReader with Allwinner B300 quad-core Cortex-A7 SoC, plus an even smaller 5.2-inch display. 6. Unboxing SunFounder TS7-Pro touchscreen display SunFounder TS7-Pro is a 7-inch touchscreen display designed for Raspberry Pi 4 board and the company sent us one review sample for evaluation. SunFounder has a wide range of Raspberry Pi and Arduino accessories designed for makers, and the TS7-Pro 7 is their latest offering that’s optimized to work with Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspberry Pi 3. Adding a touchscreen display to a Raspberry Pi may be a bit messy with the display or other accessories such as cameras and/or 2.5-inch drive spread on the table, but the TS7-Pro display simplifies all that with a neater assembly. Let’s start the review with an unboxing The package is compac…

  14. Description In several situations we need to have systemd-resolved installed and configured or we loose DNS. This happens in case of HA and most likely OMV too. As per documentation: systemd-resolved will work out of the box with a network manager using /etc/resolv.conf. 25. Linux Torvalds has just announced the release of Linux 6.3 on the Linux Kernel Mailing List (LKML): It’s been a calm release this time around, and the last week was really no different. So here we are, right on schedule, with the 6.3 release out and ready for your enjoyment. That doesn’t mean that something nasty couldn’t have been lurking all these weeks, of course, but let’s just take things at face value and hope it all means that everything is fine, and it really was a nice controlled release cycle. It happens. This also obviously means the merge window for 6.4 will open tomorrow. I already have two dozen pull requests waiting for me to start doing my pulls, and I app…

  36. Banana Pi’s BPI-PicoW-S3 is a development board following the Raspberry Pi Pico W form factor, but based on Espressif System ESP32-S3 dual-core microcontroller offering both WiFi 4 and Bluetooth LE connectivity. So far, I had only seen the WeAct RP2040 board with the same layout except for a USB Type-C port and a 16MB flash. But the Banana Pi BPI-PicoW-S3 provides a direct alternative to the Raspberry Pi Pico W with a more powerful microcontroller, vector instructions for AI acceleration, BLE, and about the same price at $5.5 plus shipping. We’ve previously written about several system-on-modules and SBCs based on Renesas RZ/G2L or RZ/V2L Cortex-A55/M33 processors such as Geniatech “AHAURA” RS-G2L100 and “AKITIO” RS-V2L100 single board computers, Forlinx FET-G2LD-C system-on-module, and SolidRun RZ/G2LC SOM and devkit. 45. This week's work centers on release pipeline modernization, desktop and userland refinements, and board and kernel platform maintenance. On the release and CI side, the build matrix gained codename parameterisation with Ubuntu 26.04 "resolute" set as default, a dedicated Bianbu target, and exposed map overrides, while standard-support targets now include UEFI desktops and a plain cloud variant. The KDE fast-HDMI matrix was switched from kde-neon to kde-plasma, mesa-vpu was dropped from auto-attached extensions, and external CI now skips slots with a warning when upstream sources break. Supporting fixes route forky/loong64 base-files lookups to the main archive and add AI …

If the Raspberry Pi Pico’s 2MB of QSPI flash is not quite sufficient for your needs, and you’d not quite a fan of micro USB ports, the WeAct RP2040 clone comes with up to 16MB flash and a USB Type-C port for power and programming. Another improvement is the addition of a reset button, which can be convenient for flashing UF2 firmware, and the pinout remains the mostly the same. The price is not quite as low as the original Raspberry Pi Pico, but the clone sells for an affordable $5.99 with 2MB flash, while the 16MB flash variant goes for $8.99 with shipping included in both cases. But today, we were reminded that many are fake with a partial implementation or not working at all. ELM32 was originally created by Elm Electronics – which recently decided to close shop – and based on Microchip PIC18F2480 microcontroller to provide the data through a UART interface, but copies have been around for years, and I myself bought a cheap ELM327 compatible ODB-II Bluetooth adapter back in 2013, but I never managed to make it work. Those were brought back to my attention today, as Jasbir bought two suc…

But 9to5Google reports the devkit has been out of stock for several months, will be deprecated, and they’ve read some documentation about an ADT-4 Hybrid Developer Kit that should replace it by the end of the year or early next year with digital TV tuners. Smaller and Leaner Minimal Images Our minimal images have been further optimized, now featuring the smallest possible footprint while maintaining core OS functionality. We’ve decoupled networking from the main build framework, enabling the use of systemd-networkd, essential for keeping images lean. Network Manager is still present on server and desktop images and an option for those who need it. For more details, refer to our updated Network Management documentation. We have recompiled minimal images for all stable build targets and push out bugfix v24.5.3 update. Armbian on Bananapi F3 We’re working on supporting the Bananapi …

Previously the "Connect via wireless? [Y/n]" question would interpret Y, y and as "yes", and everything else as "no", whereas the "Set user language based on your location? [Y/n]" question would loop until the user selected Y, y, N or n. Make pressing enter equivalent to the default "Y", since that is the capitalized option. Echo back what the user typed.
