Description In this second step (previous one: https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4913) of rtl8723cs consolidation, the rtl8723cs driver patches and references have been removed from: sunxi-edge (6.2) @The-going media-edge (6.2) @150balbes media-current (6.1) @150balbes for the sunxi-edge there has been a bit of more work: one patch changed from 6.1 to 6.2 (8723-enable-wowlan): the difference was spotted in hunk a dts file for pinephone. The hunk has been extracted and put into patches.armbian for both 6.1 and 6.2. The same hunk has been removed from the patch in misc. I don't know if it is a good idea though: perhaps on next rtl8723cs patch rebase the hunk may r…

Description Reworked X-Powers AC200 device patches for current and edge kernel as needed by AR-1506 Orange Pi 3 LTS fixes including Dedicated crust config to support PMIC shutdown Added patch to fix ram detection. Without this patch SPL and U-boot was detecting wrong ram amount causing board to fail booting. It still happens sometimes, but frequency is way less. Also synced device-tree and defconfig file with Jernej's patch from LibreELEC Removed upstream ATF patch. It was causing some slowness issues. Brought back UWE5622 drivers for current and edge kernels. However wifi driver is modified to be loaded via systemd service as otherwise it was causing cpufreq-dt module c…

Description This problem was first reported by a user on Armbian forum affecting Orange Pi Win and Orange Pi Prime with 6.1 kernel. The problem was when running iperf3 for network testing, it reported extremely low speed in the range of 40Mbps instead of 900Mbps that was shown on Debian kernel. It was also observed on multiple other devices during testing of 6.5 including Orange Pi Zero Plus by @schwar3kat and Pine A64+ by @PanderMusubi. Legacy kernel performed a bit better giving 400+ Mbps speed. Running something like htop or watch -n 1 echo in parallel seemed to resolve the issue. I was able to narrow it down to sun8i-a33-mbus driver which is dram frequency scaling dr…

Description Hotfix to remove a hunk from a patch that prevented compilation of uwe5622 driver on sunxi64 family for current kernel 5.15. The hunk was just "cosmetical" because it removed a compilation warning about unused variables. There seems to be some #define and #ifdef difference on sunxi64 that causes the compilation error. Also the application of bluetooth-fix patch has been removed from drivers_network.sh since the patch has been removed in the past. How Has This Been Tested? Description This PR includes the following changes I noticed that we were making use of r_i2c to communicate with AXP chip for Orange Pi lite2 and one plus in linux kernel, but were using r_rsb in u-boot. Made this consistent by porting the patch used in sunxi kernel to u-boot. Moved to board specific crust config for Orange Pi 3, lite2 and one plus. The difference from previous configuration is that crust will now be aware of presence of AXP power chip present on the board and hence should be able to lower the power usage further during sleep or shutdown state Enabled kernel module for Hantro G2 video codec block available on H6 boards. Should allow faster video decodi…

Description This PR partially reverts #5677 that I raised and merged today. I was able to get in touch with Samuel Holland and he suggested a fix for the network slowness issue which worked fine for current and edge. The fix doesn't seem to make a difference for legacy, but then the driver in legacy seems to be some early version of the driver that got merged in mainline. Hence I am leaving the driver disabled for legacy, while re-enabling the driver for current and edge with his proposed fix. Jira reference number AR-1833 How Has This Been Tested? Description We are using unudhcpd from pmos for usb gadget network dhcp server. But this package is not upstreamed to debian, and it's the only package we use for qcom abl that is not upstreamed, so replace it with dnsmasq. Difference between unudhcpd and dnsmasq: 1, unudhcpd is a very simple dhcp server which only provides one ip address to the client. While dnsmasq will provide different ip address on every usb gadget network connect because the mac address of usb gadget network client always changes. 2, When usbgadget network is disabled by command systemctl status usbgadget-rndis.service, dnsmasq will get stopped. If dnsmasq is not stopped, client won't get address …

Description The schedutil cpu frequency governor is more tightly coupled to userspace activity and performs more granular cpu frequency changes. I've personally be using it for years. I think it's prudent to change to this default.. especially given cpu-frequency utils is deprecated and no-longer enabled by default on armbian builds. I think if this is merged it's an opportunity to also remove some of the unmaintained on-demand governor tweaks in armbian-hardware-optimize as well. Quoting the kernel docs: This governor generally is regarded as a replacement for the older ondemand and conservative governors (described below), as it is simpler and more tightly in…

Description Per Igor comment helios64 required work to sync with upstream changes. I took the liberty to keep more of upstream than in Armbian 6.8, namely: I kept nodes at their upstream location to remove unnecessary work when syncing to the upstream keep "ethernet0 = &gmac;" in aliases, to let the ethernet MAC retrieved from OTP in u-boot apply. This will restore this feature (the u-boot was still functional). U-boot retried ethernet MACs are in u-boot printenv output "ethaddr" and "eth1addr". Seems for a few years I had the Linux kernel autogenerated one but my config still had the correct one commented (I did not find why it broke back then). I removed the overc…

Description These two kernel features are required for the serial console to be usable in early userspace of an Allwinner H6 based board - ie, the init process. The debian initramfs loads these modules which is fine when things go well, but you won't get any logs from the init script which is problematic for debugging and/or customizing it. This made debugging very challenging as I had no way to get output from the board after the kernel had handed control to init. After this change, the serial console is available and functional by the time init runs, and any logs from init will be output as expected. Note: I've put these changes into the "next" config, but my testing…
