EVerest is a software project initiated by PIONIX GmbH, but now part of the Linux Foundation’s LFEnergy initiative, whose primary goal is to develop and maintain an open-source software stack for EV charging infrastructure. EVerest supports multiple standards and it will run on any device from AC home chargers to public DC charging stations. I noticed the EVerest project in an upcoming talk at the Embedded Open Source Summit 2023 entitled ” EVerest: Electric Vehicle Chargers With Open Hardware and Software” and whose abstract reads in part: You will learn how to build your own electric vehicle charger using open hardware designs in combination with the EVerest open-source…

After rtw_usb_alloc_rx_bufs() has been called rx urbs have been allocated and must be freed in the error path. After rtw_usb_init_rx() has been called they are submitted, so they also must be killed. Add these forgotten steps to the probe error path. Besides the lost memory this also fixes a problem when the driver fails to download the firmware in rtw_chip_info_setup(). In this case it can happen that the completion of the rx urbs handler runs at a time when we already freed our data structures resulting in a kernel crash. This has been applied to wireless-next https://lore.kernel.org/linux-wireless/8b4b4228bfd140119665417137a087ea@realtek.com/T/#t [ ] My code follo…

This week’s Armbian development saw significant enhancements across hardware support and system functionality. The Arduino UNO Q was officially added, along with new firmware and flash binaries for the QRB2210 and QCM2290 variants. HDMI CEC support was introduced for Rockchip RK3588/RK3576 SoCs, while panel compatibility expanded with updates for Raspberry Pi and Hardkernel ODROID-Vu8S. Key kernel improvements included a bump to version 7.0-rc6 and rewritten patches for Rockchip64-6.18. The release also featured workflow hardening, exclusion of unsupported boards, and fixes for USB-C OTG mode on Odroid-M2. These updates collectively strengthen Armbian’s platform stability…

Description In order to tidy up (see this PR), Radxa Rock-s0 board patch has been revised to work with the mainline device tree, and avoid shred it. In case of possibile conflicts with mainline kernel, it will be easier to deal with. @brentr I could not test directly the board, since I don't have it. I built a rockpi-s image, it works and dmesg is clean, but you have to tell if rock-s0 works ok. Some other patches have been removed, as @Kwiboo suggested in the mentioned PR and refences to sound codec pcm5102a have been removed from the board device tree (there is no such codec mentioned in the official specs, is there?) and moved into rk3308-pcm5102a.dtbo device tree ov…

Description A recent rk356x patch changed part of pwm-rockchip.c file; in particular it adds a mandatory "active" pinctrl state, which is not expected for existing PWM users for all rockchip64 family chips (notably px30, rk3328 and rk3399) where PWM is in use and "active" pinctrl name is not provided. In case PWM is used as modulator for some voltage regulation, may break opp and devfreq framework (in my particular case, a tv box, made cpu unable to do frequency scaling and prevented lima driver to be correctly setup). This patch makes the "active" pinctrl state optional on v5.18 edge kernel for rockchip64. How Has This Been Tested? [x] Built kernel deb packages succe…

Updates for Radxa's Amlogic boards (radxa-zero and radxa-zero2) A few updates, mostly from https://github.com/radxa-repo/bsp; also bump u-boot to v2202.10 with a clearly-non-existing patchdir so it's pure mainline. Also required: https://github.com/armbian/firmware/pull/40 (merged, Wifi firmware) https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4408 (merged, allows using SDXC cards) Still not working: SDIO Wifi on my Zero (rev 1.51, 2gb RAM/32gb eMMC) which is failing; see https://discord.com/channels/855634073376260096/855657603378839582/1040610755671756911 ; it's very possible other boards work. Description Four fixes: 1, board-pbp-add-dp-alt-mode.patch: there is an upstream change, so fix this patch to fit current kernel 2, board-rock3a-cec.patch: there is an already merged commit, so delete it 3, board-rock3a-hdmi-sound.patch already merged, delete it 4, board-rock3a-pcie.patch pcie2 part already merged, and pcie3 part is on the way. I deleted the pcie2 part and use pcie3 patch from upstream Still failed patch: wifi-4003-uwe5622-adjust-for-rockchip.patch. This is because base patch patch/misc/wireless-driver-for-uwe5622-allwinner.patch is not applied because of armbian-next merged to main and lib/functions/compilation/patch/kernel-drivers.sh has been drooped.…

Description Beta builds are not able to start X11 since 3dsupport group is exists on images. Oibaf PPA is definitely incompatible with RK3588 boards. It's not also exists on main target config. I also added beta build option for CLI. If you are not OK to that, i can remove it. How Has This Been Tested? [x] I didn't test it but i'm sure 3dsupport breaks X11 on RK3588 boards. Cinnamon/gnome/icemw/lxde/lxqt/mate/xfce desktops. I fallowed the task-(desktop)-desktop install debian now uses installing all proper files the desktops require . Description For some weird reason, vim1s's kernel is extremely sensitive to gzipped initramfs image and it fails to load the same. For this reason, we had a pre_update_initramfs hook to change the initramfs compression algorithm from gzip to xz. But it turns out armbian-bsp-cli package has a well hidden pre-install script that changes compression to gzip if armbian-bsp-cli package is upgraded. This PR moves the compression change logic from previously added pre_update_initramfs hook to postinst script of armbian-bsp-cli. This way we can provide the value from getting overwritten and hence fix the upgrade failure. Jira reference number AR-1976 How Has This Been Tested? …
