OPi Zero Expansion board audio output

Featured Replies

Hello!

Has anyone succeeded in using the OPi Zero's Expansion Board audio output jack?
I can't seem to get any sound out of it.

Any help with the configuration would be appreciated.

Thanks

With which image?

With Armbian_5.25_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_default_3.4.113 it works pefect. You only have to ummute "Audio ad" with "m".

On legacy kernel audio and IR works great, but unfortunately doesn't work on mainline kernel yet.

Both analog audio and IR receiver are supported on mainline, but not activated by default. Currently Device Tree patching is required to enable eitehr of these features on Zero.

I did experience the same Problem with my Orange Pi Zero.

First tried the legacy Ubuntu Xenial and analog audio worked. Than i switch to the nightly build, to maybe get a better WiFi driver bundled with the new kernel.

I wondered a bit that the audio than did not work. Simply no outputs in Alsa.

This thread here explains why. Is there any Guide how to do the device tree patching, because i have no experience with that.
