RADXA Cubie A5E 1GB RAM Armbian CLI stucks while uboot via sdcard

Featured Replies

Hi! Sorry for the delay in replying. I just read the thread.

Thanks to a message on Discord about the working 1GB version.

I previously asked Igor if we should create a specific configuration for that 1GB board due to the problems with using different types of RAM.

Currently, the stability of image 6.18 can be resolved with a uboot patch that you can find in the future port/bump to 7.2.

In the PR, uboot is updated from 26.01 to 26.07, including the patches. Does it have functional dynamic memory detection?

If not, adding cubie-a5e-1gb should only involve a few files.

More details

For 2/4 GB versions.

Image with kernel 7.2 and uboot 26.07

Although using armbian-config the installation is copied to the NVMe drive, it should boot from the SD card (for now).

Wi-Fi/BT appears to be working.

SPI (mtd0) in Linux. E906 is enabled so you can test the "e906-examples" repository (I haven't tested the "hello world" example that prints via serial yet).

Don't forget to connect the HDMI cable and turn on the monitor!
