Hy I'm currently trying to run a DS18B20 Temperature Sensor on the PA20 Port on my Neo Core 2. The w1_gpio und w1_therm modules are loaded but still I can't see the senors in the /sys/bus/w1/devices/ folder. (28-xxxx) Now I read in different threads to edit the FEX file in the /boot/ folder. So I would bee to first covert the script.bin to the script.fex. However I can't find any *.bin file in the /boot/ folder... So is the PA20 Port the correct 1Wire port? And how can I change this port to eg. GPIOG11 if I can't find the script.bin in the /boot/ folder? Andy

When I ssh to my Banana Pi (I / A20) there is a delay of a few seconds till welcome screen / prompt. With Bananian it was instant as still is with second BananaPi with Bananian and all other kind of Pis I have, rock64 with Bananian no delay also, but faster cpu off course. Tried ssh -vvvv and a look at sshd logs, didn't found something indicating an error yet.

Is there any other firmware for the AP6255 available, besides the one made available for Khadas VIM at https://github.com/khadas/android_hardware_amlogic_wifi/tree/Vim/bcm_ampak/config/6255/BT or the one for the Raspberry Pi 3+ available e.g. at https://github.com/OpenELEC/misc-firmware/blob/master/firmware/brcm/BCM43430A1.hcd which uses also the same chipset? I am trying to make Bluetooth working on an Orange Pi Lite2. So far I had no success loading the firmware by issuing root@orangepilite2:~# brcm_patchram_plus --patchram /lib/firmware/brcm/BCM43430A1.hcd --enable_hci --bd_addr 11:22:33:44:55:66 --no2bytes --tosleep 1000 /dev/tty…

Hello. I'm having trouble with infrared receiver. Whether the sunxi_cir driver installed in kernel or not, there is nothing in /dev/input except "event0", which is the power controller. Dmesg doesn't show anything neither. Version: Armbian 4.5 Lamobo-r1 Debian jessie next (unofficial), kernel 4.2.3. IR support was declared on download web page, so I decided to get vanilla kernel. That's because I had already tried Bananian with 3.18 kernel, and there were huge problems with kernel ppp (up to freezes of whole device). Has anybody encountered this problem?

Hi, I am using A20 Micro Olinuxino card. I have problems with legacy built (Ubuntu 3.4.110). I also tried the other built Vanilla (Ubuntu 4.4.1). The second one is successfully booted. However the first one, although I have tried several SD cards, did not continue after loading the kernel. The monitor shows a noisy image and stop working. I couldn't connect to it with SSH either. So the problem is not only with the HDMI connection or Xorg. Somehow kernel stops booting. The reason I want to use the older kernel is because it has NAND Flash support and video HW acceleration support (as stated in armbian.com). Please point me to right direction. Regards.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am working on a project for which I use a Nanopi Neo Core with its mini shield. With this mini shield I encountered some problems. Is it possible to add some gpio chip select for support more than one chip select on board ? The problem I have an USB endoscope camera that works fine with my Orange Pi lite's normal USB port. However I need both USB port for other devices, so I want to connect this same USB camera, which was orginally marketed as USB otg camera for android phones, using Opi lite's micro usb otg connector. What have I tried - In armbian-config menu, I have enabled usbhost0. I believe this overlay is for the usb otg port, but just to be sure I also enabled usbhost1, usbhost2 and usbhost3. - Using dtc I decompiled sun8i-h3-orangepi-lite.dtb into sun8i-h3-orangepi-lite.dtc. - In this dtc file, I looked up musb, and changed status = "disabled" to "o…

Hello! I recently bought a generic Waveshare 800x480 HDMI (B) USB Touchscreen (rev 3.0), and I'm having problems to make it work properly on Armbian. After a long research, I ended up realizing it's a common problem, and yet I haven't been able to find a solution. It seems there was a patch somewhere, but that link is not available anymore. I'm using the Armbian Desktop 5.31 , running on an Orange Pi One. I've already set it up using h3disp -m 800x480 -d, and tried everything but it won't work. Vertical resolution seems to be right, but horizontal only fits around 3/4 of screen and it's noisy (the same problem everyone seems to have). I have tried this with my P…

Hello everyone and thank you for wonderful work on Armbian. i was wondering if anyone has any experiences to share on booting orange pi pc over network, i know it's possible to do this using Raspberry pi, but what's the latest status on Orange PI PC? is there a u-boot build capable of doing so? is this even possible?

I have tried a few different suggestions that I have seen online to implement wifi on Orange PC with a wifi dongle. However, none them can work reliably. OrangePi zero works but wifi speed is very slow (about 1-2Mbps). I recently tried using Raspberry Pi with wifi dongles. It is almost plug and play and very reliable. I hope there is a way to do the same on OPi. If anybody know one, please let me know. I will be happy to try it out and report back.

I have two Olimex Lime 2 eMMC boards, both set up the same way – same HDDs, same batteries, same power supplies, etc. Both run: - Armbian 5.31 (although one was updated to it, and the other was freshly installed with that version) - Debian 9 “stretch“ (same issue when they were both on Debian 8 “wheezy” though) - Linux kernel 4.8.14-sunxi Yet, one shows the CPU temperature, and the other doesn’t. A (the fresh-installed one): cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp 41800 B (the one updated to 5.31 from a previous 5.x version): cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp cat: /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp: Inv…

Hi Srs! I have problem in using Armbian 14 with orange pi zero .. I already used the Armbian system in my OrangepiZero. However, I reinstalled everything again and downloaded the latest version of the operating system here on the site. When I try to use onboard audio (both capture and output) does not work. I have already enabled the analog-codec and it still does not work. Remembering that I already used the equipment with the Armbian and used the onboard capture of the board perfectly. Thanks!

I'm powering a small PCB via the OTG port on my OPI PC Plus, however sometimes I need to be able to reboot the device. It is possible to cut power to the OTG port momentarily to force a reboot? I've seen mention of PL2 GPIO, but it is unclear to me how this should be setup. I've also looked at uhubctl, but that didn't work. Thoughts?

I am using legacy kernel 3.4.113 with Nano-PI NEO/AIR. Up until recently every thing is fine. With NEO/AIR new boards nand-sata-install script is failing with "There is no targets". Unfortunately it is lot of work to upgrade the kernel to mainline at this stage. I greatly appreciate if anyone share the steps to fix this issue for this kernel.

Hi there, I pulled the latest changes from github and created a fresh Debian Jessie Armbian Image for my BananaPi M2+. Specifically, I run: BOARD=bananapim2plus BOARD_NAME="Banana Pi M2+" VERSION=5.21 LINUXFAMILY=sun8i BRANCH=default ARCH=arm Through a lot of debugging and googeling, I found that the latest armbian Image uses a different BCM driver (https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/issues/484). Now I face the following issue: In order to use AP6216 with hostapd in access point mode, I added "bcmdhd op_mode=2" to /etc/module. I tried a number of things, e.g. using dhd instead of bcmdhd but without success? Any ideas where I can configure AP6216 in op_mode=2 (access …

Hi, I am trying to use the SPI interface on the board GPIOs of a BananaPi M1+. I have started the latest version of Armbian available for this board (Armbian_19.11.6_Bananapi_bionic_current_5.4.8) and after the initial configuration the "/boot/armbianEnv.txt" file has the following added lines: fdtfile=sun7i-a20-bananapi-m1-plus.dtb overlays=spi-add-cs1 spi-spidev param_spidev_spi_bus=0 I have rebooted but I am unable to use the spidevX.Y under the "/dev" folder. What am I missing? NOTE: I have tried several combinations of values on the armbianEnv.txt configuration file (ie: using only overlays flags without the other ones, using only the spi-spidev flag,…

Hey there So I was planning on using the OPZero on a robot that I had already made, which took use of SPIdev, and it was doing calls to the spidev driver in C. Now I noticed that the OPZero has 2 SPI channels, one for the NOR flash (Which isnt populated) on the back and another that goes to the GPIO headers on the device. Now I ran my script, and turns out that /dev/spidev0.0 is actually writing SPI commands to the rear SPI channel. This is apparenly SPI0 according to the schematics. Now following the schematics again, I want to access SPI1, which currently does not exist as a spidev file. I tried "modprobe spidev" to bring up the extra interface, but sadl…

I have tested the orange pi one xenial. When I say test it is not benchmark tests. I do not know what the numbers say anyway. I open several common programs and watch what htop says. If I run an mp4 file on a media player, libre office and file manager it runs well and htop says about 300mb. It is a 10usd computer and I do not expect it to equal a x86 desktop. If I open firefox, firefox crashes before starting. Because of not enough ram? If I open chromium or midori ram usage goes to 100%. Cpu does not. You cannot really browse sites very well. Youtube videos is the same. Is it becuase 512mb ram is not enough? On my gnulinux x86 n…

Hello all, Firstly, a huge thank you to Igor and team for Armbian, I love it and appreciate you for the effort and time you have dedicated to this amazing project, thank you. I have used Armbian on Cubieboard II for a number of years now, running my main server with QuadlogSCADA for my off-grid renewable system at my home. Hi Just got my first Orange Pi Zero today. Everything looking good, with the exception, if I run iperf tests between this and a linux host, the Orange Pi Zero will reboot without any error messages. I changed my power supply to a wall plug which can support 2.4amp easily, also tried to tune down the frequency to 900Mhz max, 4 cores, turned off HDMI/GPU, USB. DRAM is at minimum, 408 I think. Temperature remains at 55 to 58C Still once a while during heavy network, the board will reboot. The image i used is the legacy image posted on orange pi zero, Armbian_5.24_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_3.4.113 Thanks Jerry

After trying the ESP32, CHIP and CHIP PRO, I now have the OPI Zero+2 H5 and after much research (the Armbian forums) and testing, was unable to get USB OTG and Bluetooth working. Similarly, is the AP6212A bluetooth driver/firmware being worked on at the moment? In addition, I'm waiting for some cameras to be delivered, my next project being the CSI …

Hi. I'm a new user. I have a Banana PI M1+, that is connected to a monitor with maximum resolution of 1280x1024 and with only DVI port. I'm using Armbian_4.5_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_3.4.109, and I installed XFCE using tasksel. If I leave it without any user interaction, the monitor goes to sleep, and I'm not able to wake it up anymore. But it works, because I'm able to connect to it using putty from another computer. So I tried to install Armbian_4.5_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_3.4.109, but I have the same problem. I tried also to disable "Switch Off After" in the Display section of power management without success. Can someone help me please?

I've just started using armbian yesterday and one of the first things that i'm trying to do is use my cheap USB wireless module. The chipset is the RTL8188, but the armbian originally recognised and loaded the RTL8192eu driver. When trying to connect with 8192 driver it always returned "Bad Password". Changing the /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf to 8188cus initially seemed to work, but on the validation stage itsimply freezed and automatically rebooted, repeating it for as many times as i tried. I've also test with others like 8192eu/8192cus/8188eu/8188cu and all of then either returned no wireless network found or freeze and reboot. Is there any way to solve th…

I'm currently playing with a Banana Pi M1 + and don't seem to be able to get the GPIO to work. I *think* that I have correctly mapped the IO pins that I am using through the schematic and fex file to find the corrisponding GPIO number for debian. When playing around in /sys/class/gpio I am able to export the GPIO pin that I'm looking for and change it's properties, direction, value etc. However these changes don't seem to appear on the physical IO pins. I noticed that some of the pins that I'm using are shared by UART 2, so I have disabled that in the FEX file but still no luck. I have a feeling that this is probably going to be DTB related, however I'm a …

I want to use my GPIO pins on my OPi lite. After much research and testing, I have done the following - Add user pi to group gpio - Changed /etc/udev/rules.d/99-gpio.rules to SUBSYSTEM=="gpio*", PROGRAM="/bin/sh -c '\ chown -R root:gpio /sys/class/gpio && chmod -R 770 /sys/class/gpio;\ chown -R root:gpio /sys/devices/platform/soc/1c20800.pinctrl/gpiochip0/gpio && chmod -R 770 /sys/devices/platform/soc/1c20800.pinctrl/gpiochip0/gpio;?\ '"???? Hello: First, thank you for all your incredible work in armbian. It is really great what you've done so far. And future looks even better. So I just received a couple of Orange Pi Zeros. I thought for a fun first project I'd port the pi-hole project. The Pi-Hole project creates a black hole / dns server for your home network that filters out lots of extraneous advertising. Its a pretty nice project. Reference: https://pi-hole.net/and https://github.com/pi-hole/pi-hole I ended up using a semi automatic install for pi-hole: git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/pi-hole/pi-hole.git Pi-hole cd Pi-hole/automated_installer/ bash basic-install.sh There was one hiccup. The admin page for the pi-hole (run on your local network) in the browser includes a header that conveniently shows CPU temperatur…

Hi, I seem to be unable to create a working image for my Orange Pi PC+ with a 4.x kernel (I want to use Docker). I had a working 4.7.3 install but a recent (this week) apt-get upgrade installed a 4.8.x kernel (and probably a u-boot) after which my Opi PC+ will not boot anymore (my home-router shows the opi for a short time but it disappears before I can do a ssh to the Opi PC+). None of the images I have or create with a 4.x kernel seem to want to work. Only the 3.4.112 images that I download will work. Since I fried my uart0 and I haven't been able to use uart1 I have not been able to debug this. So I was hoping someone has a working image with a 4.x kernel …

I got my OPi PC2 last week and flashed the latest armbian server version. Every time I enter "reboot" on SSH to reboot the system, or plug in the power cable. The system can not boot up with a great probability. My power source is the charger for SAMSUNG smartphone. The specification indicates it can provide 5V/2A current. With the UART, I found the uboot process was stuck after the statement "INFO: BL3-1: Next image address: 0x4a000000, SPSR: 0x3c9". The LED is OFF in that moment. After plugging out/in the power cable multiple times, the system can be boot up successfully finally and works very well. I'…

Hello Armbian Kernel Team, I own a Cubietruck (CB3) and I wanted to setup a fresh debian server system. So I installed Armbian 5.14 (Debian Jessie) on my SD Card and booted the system up. About 3 months ago i bought the Orange PI Zero Plus Orange Pi Zero Plus I installed Armbian Stretch and started playing around. I noticed that it got up to 71c which was to much so i shut it down and went on the net to buy some 5v fans to cool it. A month ago I received the first fans and noticed now that Armbian Buster had arrived. Since I hadn't gotten far with the config of Armbian Stretch I started on a new image. But to my disappointment the ARM processor is now clocked to 1008Mhz and not the 1.2Ghz the device is set to by manufacturer. I can guess that it is because of the heat problem that it is now set to…

Hello everyone. My OP-PC is dead, with NO HDMI signal, NO console output, NO network output (LEDs off), only 1 LED is on which indicates SD card inserted (if SD card removes, it off). when use newly created SD card with Armbian, SDcard OS partition not resized. when connect to power supply, I can hear current noise. before it dies, it runs armbian server image with mainline kernel (4.14), it doesn't look like thermal fail, due to it runs very well during summer. I guess it is shorted some place, but I can't find where! so which hardware test point could I use to detects hardware failurtes.

As we know, the PCIe on H6 is buggy, which doesn't offer linear address, and Linux cannot support such kind of configuration. However, the Cortex-A53 cores used by H6 supports virtualization, which can be used to change the order of the address space. Recently, I tried to make use of virtualization to provide linear mapping of PCIe, and I succeed in making an Intel 6205 wireless card working. The hypervisor code is at https://github.com/Icenowy/aw-el2-barebone . It's intended to start before U-Boot, and located at 0x40010000. A U-Boot fork that is patched to load the hypervisor is at https://github.com/Icenowy/u-boot/tree/h6…

Red light is on, power meter shows very little consumption, ethernet does not go up. Switching to last available 5.10.x kernel resolves the situation. 2nd batch: Successfully work with both 5.10.x and work with 5.15.x. Green light is on, power meter shows adequate consumption, board works. I'm pretty sure, that no more "new" opi one plus will appear at Xunlong shop and this issue won't be fixed in visible future. But well.. How I can "freeze" kern…

I've been trying to bring up Armbian on my Banana Pi M2 Ultra (with A40i SoC). First I tried using the community rolling release, and then building it myself from source code. In every case, it was failing to boot; on the HDMI console it was hanging at the stage where the initrd was attempting to scan for the root partition. ("Scanning for btrfs filesystems") Taking a closer look at the verbose output of the UART console during a boot attempt, I saw that there was an error message about the sunxi-mmc device driver experiencing a failure while it was enumerating the EMMC chip: [ 4.136553] mmcblk2: mmc2:0001 8GTF4R 7.28 GiB [ 4.144362] sunxi…

Good Morning, I'm using the 5" LCD of LeMaker designed for Banana Pi. For some reason I changed from legacy Kernel to vanilla kernel. But now in the vanilla kernel touch screen driver isn't available anymore. In legacy kernel it the ft5x_ts module. Is there an other way to make my Display working with touch again? Hi all. I'm running armbian in all my orangepi boards since I've them and the distro is great and we'll developed. (thanks!) I run them with telephone chargers (htc and Samsung) 2/1.5A directly connected to the board via a 30cm cable. I don't know what's the status of data pins (d+ d-) but I think they are left open by the cable. They are used for sdr use running dump1090 all the time. In the aim of reducing the heat I've disabled two cores (only recently) out of four and installed a copper heatsink on the cpu. The problem is that from time to time I found my boards unresponsive from ethernet and serial port, so completely stuck. Only a reboot works. Do you h…

Hi to all, sorry if it is already described anywhere. I found some similar issues but no solution, except ...has to be modified.. or anything similar. Two days ago I updated my Armbian Jessie server on may Cubietruck with apt-get update && apt-get upgrade After that my homeautomation didn't show the SoC temperature any more. first I looked for an error in the software, then after a lot of reboots I noticed the temperature also missing in the armbian startscreen. The command cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp was responsed by cat: /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/t…
