Description Add aya odin2 config,Most functions can be used now, but the amplifier driver is missing, so the speaker cannot be used. The headphone jack can barely be used, but there are quality issues with the sound. Currently, only Bluetooth is used to connect the speaker or headphones to play music During installation, the latest Mesa will be compiled to ensure that the GPU driver can be used properly, as Mesa lacks Open GL support and can only use Zink to provide hardware acceleration for the desktop. However, this can lead to some issues Jira reference number [AR-9999] How Has This Been Tested? Please describe the tests that you ran to verify your changes. Please a…

I’ve just repurposed an empty XYLITOL gum bottle into a DIY camera mount for the Raspberry Pi Camera Module with privacy mode to boot… In order to avoid confusion, while Xylitol is a chemical compound, it’s also a Japanese brand of chewing gums that is sold in Thailand and other countries. I’m specifically talking about the latter in this post. Raspberry Pi Trading has just sent me a bunch of Raspberry Pi Camera Modules 3 for review, and since I don’t have any camera mount I initially thought maybe I’ll laser cut some mount or use some LEGOs as I did with the e-CAM20_CURB camera for Raspberry Pi 4. But then I saw some empty XYLITOL gum bottles, noticed the cap would open …

We’ve already written about the UP 4000 SBC as a more powerful x86 alternative to Raspberry Pi 4, but if it still does not cut it, AAEON de next-TGU8 or de next-V2K8 should as the business card-sized single board computers are equipped with respectively an Intel Tiger Lake processor up to a Core i7-1185G7E, or and AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 SoC up to Ryzen Embedded V2516. But the comparison stops at the size, as both SBCs offer sets of features different from the usual Raspberry Pi form factor with notably up to 16GB RAM, SATA and NVMe storage, dual Ethernet (1x 2.5GbE, 1x Gigabit Ethernet), dual 4K display output via HDMI and eDP, some USB 3.2 ports, as well as serial and …

Description This PR makes two changes for the bcm2711 family: Use FS UUID for mounting the root filesystem instead of the FS label, bringing this family in line with most other boards. Write config.txt and cmdline.txt earlier, allowing it to be modified from customize-image-host.sh or customize-image.sh. These two changes are conceptually independent, but touch the same area of code, so I put them in a single PR instead of splitting them. Documentation summary for feature / change No documentation needed. How Has This Been Tested? Built for rpi4b, with customizations to cmdline.txt and config.txt in customize-image-host.sh. There are already several serial terminal programs such as Putty and minicom, and in recent times, I’ve been using Bootterm myself. But that does not mean there’s room for more and Martin Lund has developed tio serial device I/O tool for Linux. Martin found out many of the existing tools are very modem focused or a bit cumbersome to use, so he developed tio as the simpler alternative which puts less focus on classic terminal/modem features and more focus on the needs of embedded developers and hackers. Dear Armbian Community, It’s been an eventful two weeks since our last point release of 2023. Despite facing some challenges, we’ve been hard at work ensuring the continued excellence of Armbian. Point Release Recap Unfortunately, we encountered unexpected issues since our release. A batch of images was accidentally deleted, requiring a complete restart of the generation process. Additionally, our main rsync server experienced IPv6 connectivity issues, resulting in delays in mirror synchronization for several days. However, we’ve successfully generated our first set of images, now available by checking out the builds script to v23.11. Enhanced Support Policies To strea…

artifacts: introduce calculate_hash_for_variables() which normalizes the input; use in kernel/uboot/etc Does not look like it, but this is a bugfix -- UBOOT_TARGET_MAP might contain $SRC (due to BL31=, etc) and that is hashed into something only ever matches by accident Also fixes artifact-armbian-desktop vs appgroups/config_base differences some hashed variables might contain "${SRC}", so hashes never match, unless built in Docker - this strips away SRC from all vars and adds debugging so we can detect more later. artifact-uboot: include more variables into hash, for ATF & rk stuff artifact-armbian-desktop: - hashed vars actually contain /armbian in different…

A typical chip for AI or ML inference would include an NPU, a DSP, a real-time CPU, plus some memory, an application processor, an ISP, and a few more IP blocks. Quadric Chimera GPNPU (general purpose neural processor unit) IP combines the NPU, DSP, and real-time CPU into one single programmable core. According to Quadric, the main benefit of such design is simplifying system-on-chip (SoC) hardware design and subsequent software programming once the chip is available thanks to a unified architecture for machine learning inference as well as pre-and-post processing. Since the core is programmable it should also be future-proof. Three “QB series” Chimera GPNPU cores are ava…

Revopoint MINI is a 3D scanner using high-resolution blue light that’s designed for smaller objects such as figurines, coins, jewelry, etc… that require a higher level of detail achievable thanks to the promised 0.02mm precision. The 3D scanner follows last year’s Revopoint POP 2 color 3D scanner with 0.1mm accuracy for larger objects, and the main differences are the lack of color scanning and the higher resolution most suitable for smaller objects, but also possible for larger objects while holding the scanner with one hand. It would just take longer since the MINI’s single capture range is 118 x 64mm, instead of 210 x 130mm for the POP 2. Revopoint MINI specifications…

Description Sorry for uplifting the discussion again around the PWM patch for rockchip64 again, but I did some further tests and I'm not convinced. The patch rk3568-pwm-rockchip.patch looks like a copy-paste patch from rockchip v5.10 kernel and I can't find it on patchwork.kernel.org patches, so I guess it is not suitable for mainline. There is some weird behaviour I'm experiencing. My test board is the rk3318 tvbox, but this is not a cons; instead this is a pro and I'm going to explain why: these tvboxes lacks proper voltage regulator chips (like rk805 or rk808) and instead heavily relies on PWM to do power regulation for CPU and Logic planes. When PWM goes nuts, the bo…

Dear Armbian Community, Here are the latest news! With each new Armbian release, we bring you plenty of improvements. However, we also encounter some new bugs along the way. While some are our own doing, most come from various sources. Much of the software we distribute is common and maintained by third parties upstream, with our main focus on single board computers. Challenges and Improvements During the first week after the release, we faced some problems with the package repository. Our system is highly automated, but sometimes things don’t go smoothly. While trying to improve things, we accidentally caused a delay in updates for two weeks. We’re working hard to fi…

Wireless power, no matter how inefficient it may be, sounds good and even looks good with the “5V remote wireless power supply LED pack” we feature in this post. It also feels magical with the LEDs lighting up thanks to magnetic resonance coupling technology. The solution comes with a coil as a transmitter and each LED bead also includes a small coil as a receiver. When the two are coupled, energy can be transferred from the transmitter to the receiver through the air, paper, or plastic casing, and the LEDs will light up. The magnetic field intensity in this technology is said to be similar to that of the Earth’s magnetic field, and it will not be harmful to human health …

Linus Torvalds has just announced the release of Linux 5.19. It should be the last 5.xx version, with Linux 6.0 coming for the next cycle: So here we are, one week late, and 5.19 is tagged and pushed out. The full shortlog (just from rc8, obviously not all of 5.19) is below, but I can happily report that there is nothing really interesting in there. A lot of random small stuff. In the diffstat, the loongarch updates stand out, as does another batch of the networking sysctl READ_ONCE() annotations to make some of the data race checker code happy. Other than that it’s really just a mixed bag of various odds and ends. On a personal note, the most interesting part here is tha…

Rack Robotics’ Powercore is an Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) kit that converts your existing 3D printer (or CNC router) into a machine capable of cutting high-precision and detailed metal parts. We’ve already seen 2-in-1 3D printers and laser engravers such as the Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro, but while this type of machine can usually cut plywood or engrave stainless steel, the laser is not powerful enough to cut through aluminum. The Powercore EDM kit changes that by enabling the cutting of aluminum parts up to 4mm thick, although aluminum sheets that are 1mm or thinner are recommended.
