Description This reverts commit a41e768f53c522259f373f84f0455c66b06031b2 This code needs to be properly reviewed ... can take a week or a year. Project have no plans to redirect resources to support desktop development. Opening, closing, new PR, closing, attention, opening, attention, closing, ... What a waste of resources. And abuse - seeking for attention and waiting that someone breaks and approves the code that we never planned, have no urgency label, is not ready and was probably not even tested. It just looks less crazy as the one with 2000 files. This is why I am reverting the code in first place. Second is that we need to strive to be better in doing this and alw…

Description The idea is to generate output/git_sources.json file that will contain url, branch and commit hash combo. The easiest way to generate file for all devices is to run ./compile.sh targets. Then at the time of release we will copy the output/git_sources.json file to config/sources/git_sources.json. Once the file is copied, the hash information from the file will be used to fetch resources for git repositories where branches are specified instead of tags or commits. There can be other ways to do this as well. I am just too tired to experiment more on the same. Raising it to be a communication starter. I have also added the json file that I have generated today. …

Description This is a draft/wip for adding https proxy caching. This is especially designed for machines hosting lots of github runners to reduce their bandwidth usage by sacrificing disk space. http caching has been merged already and only needed minor changes. Caching https however is way more complicated. Encryption needs to be broken and rewrapped and then obviously downloads will fail due to cert issues. Classic MITM. So a new certificate authority (CA) needs to be put in place to allow these "fake" certs. Why is this even necessary? Well one major part is downloads from upstream apt repositories. The other major part is downloading 3rd party repositories and artif…

RFC: introduce armbian-base-files artifact, which downloads & repacks base-files from upstream distro This was raised by Igor during upgrade testing. base-files upgrade coming from upstream distro causes many problems during upgrade, including losing the Armbian identity in /etc/os-release and /etc/issue. bsp-cli: now depends on base-files (>= ${REVISION}), this way upgrading the bsp-cli causes our base-files to be installed - bsp-cli no longer does gymnastics with /etc/os-release et al, all done in armbian-base-files now general/apt-utils.sh: introduce apt_find_upstream_package_version_and_download_url() base-files: add release to version, in order to comply…
