  11. Description Rockchip has released legacy kernel 5.10 supporting rk3568, and friendlyarm has been using it on nanopi5: https://github.com/friendlyarm/kernel-rockchip/tree/nanopi5-v5.10.y_opt/. I did tried the legacy kernel that rk3588 uses on rk3568 board but failed to boot with pcie devices. So although this friendlyarm kernel is mostly the same as the legacy kernel rk3588 uses, it is still the best supported 5.10 kernel for rk3568. Since we have patch board-rock3a-Add-DT-link-for-backward-compatibility.patch, we can use the default device tree file rockchip/rk3568-rock-3a.dtb same as the edge kernel. Device tree file is from radxa's legacy 4.19 kernel repo modified wit…

  20. This does not affect the downloaded ready-made ROOTFS, but the new compression value dramatically increased the process time (2-4 times) for user configurations. Adding a variable indicating the compression ratio will make it easy to select the desired value according to the conditions of use of the assembly system. By default, the previous value is set, for a mass build (which is executed from command scripts), it is easy to add any value of the maintainer's choice and will allow you to maintain a high build speed for custom versions that are usually executed on conventional ARM devices with low performance. 39. Description The uwe5622 driver has been moved from allwinner directories into patch/misc directory with this previous pull request With this pull request, rockchip64 family will share the base patch in misc and provides an additional, small patch to fix specific compatibility for rockchip. Ideally this minor patch would be integrated in the big driver in patch/misc, but it is not trivial task and would then require extensive tests on allwinner platform. The pull request also provides a patch to the driver to let it compile and work on kernel v6.1, and also patches the rockchip64-edge kernel config. At last, it fixes a memcpy fat kernel warning about field-spanning memo…

Add patch https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-amlogic/patch/d9721029-780e-09f1-0207-72d3897032a4@gmail.com/ The usage of edge-triggered interrupts lead to lost interrupts under load, see [0]. This was confirmed to be fixed by using level-triggered interrupts. The report was about SDIO. However, as the host controller is the same for SD and MMC, apply the change to all mmc controller instances. The Theengs Plug ESP32 smart plug runs OpenMQTTGateway firmware to serve as a BLE MQTT gateway and power meter compatible with Home Assistant, Homebridge, OpenHAB, DomoticZ, FHEM, Jeedom, NodeRed, AWS, and any MQTT-compatible IoT or Smart Home system. While the Matter standard should improve interoperability between Smart Home frameworks over time, there are still millions of devices already produced that are not Matter compatible, and the Theengs Plug aims to at least partially address this issue by helping users reduce the number of hubs required and have only one that supports different ecosystems. We’ve started to see Intel Alder Lake-N processors in mini PCs such MSI Cubi ADL N and Morefine M9 based on announced SKUs, but the Intel Processor N95 processor, which Intel has yet to unveil, is now found in a mini PC sold for various Aliexpress sellers starting at $187 for a barebone system and going up to $384 for a model with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD preloaded with an activation version of Windows 10 or Windows 11. The Processor N95 is a quad-core processor clocked at up to 3.4 GHz (Turbo) with 6MB cache, and 16EU Intel UHD graphics clocked up to 750 MHz. 65. Up until now, U-boot would only support the User datagram protocol (UDP) allowing for TFTP and NFS boot, but Linaro has now added support for TCP and HTTP in U-boot in order to boot Linux from common web servers. TFTP boot from U-boot has been supported for years, as around the year 2006 I remember implementing TFTP Linux boot for a Karaoke system in order to lower the BoM cost by selecting a smaller flash device, and I also explained how to boot Linux on a TV box with TFTP back in 2014. This requires installing a TFTP server on your server, which is quite a trivial task, but HTTP servers are omnipresent, so it’s a welcome addition to U-boot. If you want to use HTTP to bo…

  70. Description A patch for Pinebook Pro was not applying cleaning on current 5.15 rockchip64 kernel flavour, turns out that Orange Pi 4 LTS has no more HDMI video output and dmesg is lamenting about a missing extcon connector over fusb driver. fusb driver has the control over video output since it has the capacity to steer video output from HDMI to DP via USB type-c connector. A broken fusb driver causes broken video output; this problem can be shared among all boards that depend upon it. This pull request fixes the application of the Pinebook Pro patch, and perhaps fixes the Orange Pi 4 LTS broken video output. edit: I confirm, fixing the patch fixes also video output on…

I have found it easy to maintain and hard to break. My old rig had a 3900X with 3 cores, 6 threads dedicated to docker containers, and the remaining cores running VM’s. It has been a fun and learning experience. I have run it with several different VM configurations over the past few years. The majority of the time I ran 2 VM’s. One personal and one work and I would RDP over to the work VM. If I wanted to game I had a third gaming VM and allocated all resources to it. It’s not super co…

It looked interesting enough so I clicked on the link to a page with some documentation for the company’s HPM6700/6400 microcontrollers. But in typical Chinese fashion, I was asked for a mobile phone number to download the documents. No luck this time since a Chinese mobile phone number is required. If anybody can set up a mirror on Mega or other websites easily accessible outside of China that would be appreciated. But eventually, I found an article in Chinese on EETrend where we can learn more about the HPM64G0 which happens to be a 1GHz microcontroller based on…

  98. LILYGO T-RSC3 is a relatively compact ESP32-C3 board with WiFi 4 and Bluetooth LE 5.0 connectivity, support for RS232 and RS485 communication protocols through a DB9 connector and a terminal connector respectively, and a wide 5V to 24V DC power input. LILYGO had already made an ESP32 board with CAN Bus and RS485 interfaces called the T-CAN485, but without any isolation. The new T-RSC3 offers both RS232 and RS485 interfaces, but no CAN Bus, protected by isolated transceiver modules that should make it safer to use in industrial environments. LILYGO T-RSC3 board specifications: Wireless module – Espressif Systems ESP32-C3-MINI-1U module with ESP32-C3 RISC-V microcontroller …

  99. Frore Systems Airjet Mini and Airjet Pro are active cooling chips that are just 2.8mm thick and quietly suck cool air in from the top of the chip before pushing it out the sides with the aim to replace traditional fan-based solutions in ultrabooks, or be integrated into VR headsets and smartphones for improved cooling. Yesterday we saw that cameras could clean themselves with micro-vibrations, and it happens that processors can be cooled with vibrations too as the Airjet chips are comprised of tiny membranes that vibrate at ultrasonic frequencies to generate a flow of air that enters through inlet vents in the top and transformed into high-velocity pulsating jets exiting …

(similar to #4661) Need to fix, but currently skipped: rtl8723cs: This driver was added to each kernel separately. Impossible to maintain. Need move driver to separated repo and add to the drivers_network.sh. rtl8723bs: have different code base, can't easily be ported. How Has This Been Tested? [x] It's builds without errors. Checklist: [x] My code follows the style guidelines of this project [x] I have performed a self-review of my own code [x] I have commented my code, particularly in hard-to-understand areas [ ] I have made corresponding changes to the…
