  3. Description On every PR, a workflow is started to check if artifacts should be built. This happens not only once, but many times, e.g. for every selected reviewer. Since the workflow has cancel-in-progress enabled, workflows are started and immediately cancelled by the next one, resulting in many notifications (see https://github.com/armbian/build/actions/workflows/build-artifacts-pr.yml how many of the workflows were duplicates which were cancelled). Move the cancel-in-progress concurrency policy to the second job which starts only after a check is done if the 'Build' label is even active on the PR. This should greatly reduce "Workflow cancelled" notifications via GitHub…

  4. Description The 32-bit allwinner boards are known to hang with 6.1.30 kernel. On investigation, I was able to narrow the issue down to net-phy-Support-yt8531c.patch and upstream change for lib/mapple tree for some reason these two changes don't seem to be playing along very well. I am trying to get the reason for it, but so far even after enabling low level debugging, hung task detection, earlyprintk and countless such debugging option, I was not able to get more output from the kernel or to get the kernel into kgdb mode. This merge request is raised as a workaround for fixing the hang issue so that other task depending on the same can be unblocked. Jira reference number…

  5. This week saw significant development activity across the Armbian ecosystem, with numerous enhancements to desktop environment support, including the addition of KDE Neon, KDE Plasma, MATE, and i3-wm, as well as improved branding and menu documentation. The desktop module was refactored for greater modularity and YAML-driven configuration, alongside fixes for theming and package removal tracking. Hardware support expanded with new device trees for NanoPC-T6 LTS Plus and Gateway DK, plus initial support for Arduino UNO Q (Qualcomm QRB2210) and additional USB Ethernet drivers. The build system received updates for kernel versions and distribution releases, notably bumping U…

  21. Arduino was already involved in LoRaWAN with its MKR WAN 1300 board, but now the company has started offering Arduino-branded Wisgate Edge Pro and Wisgate Edge Lite 2 LoRaWAN gateways for respectively outdoor and indoor environments as part of the Arduino Pro family. If the names of the gateways seem familiar, it’s because Arduino collaborated with Rakwireless, and is simply using their existing LoRaWAN gateways. As I understand it RAKwireless will provide the hardware and technical support, while Arduino will sell the gateways and other LoRaWAN hardware through its existing customer base, more acting as a distributor. The Evolution of SBCs: From Hobby Boards to Edge ComputingOver the past two decades, single-board computers (SBCs) have transformed from experimental maker tools into the backbone of modern embedded and edge systems. What started as a handful of affordable hobby boards has grown into a diverse ecosystem powering automation, AI, and connected infrastructure around the world. From Prototypes to PossibilityEarly SBCs were humble experiments — small circuit boards combining processor, memory, and I/O on one platform. For years they lived quietly inside industrial machines and educational kits. The real turning point came in the early 2010s with boards like the Raspberry Pi, B…

  94. This week's work advances on three fronts: kernel and bleedingedge alignment across Rockchip and Sunxi trees, board and platform enablement spanning RV1106 to SpacemiT, and CI hardening with self-hosted runner maintenance. On the kernel side, bleedingedge was bumped to 7.1-rc3, accompanied by cfg80211 API fixes and re-enablement of the rtl8189fs and rtl8852bs drivers for the new release. Both the rockchip64 and sunxi patch stacks for current and edge were rewritten, an upstream ptrace fix for CVE-2026-46333 was backported to linux-rockchip, and the odroidxu4-current kernel moved to 6.6.139. Platform enablement was broad. The Ayn Odin2 gained 7.0 kernel support, the Mekotr…
