@adeepn @rpardini As discussed here: https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/5315 In order to update to the latest rtl8822cs BT firmware for the G12/SM1 family of boards and still provide the downstream firmware for the AXG/GXL family, I created an apt hook to ensure the proper firmware stays in place. I unfortunately can’t test this beyond creating an IMG as I don’t own the unit and the firmware isn’t currently committed. In order to test, someone would need to boot an IMG built from this commit, add the latest firmware to the booted unit and install a package to see if the apt hook works. Description There is a drawback to configuring audio routing using asound.state. Although you can specify the device of the axg-sound card via commands to output sound to either HDMI or the internal speaker, in a desktop environment, there is only one analog output (defaulting to HDMI). This is because the device actually has only one sound card. By using ALSA UCM to manage sound instances and audio routing, you can freely choose between HDMI or the built-in speaker output in a desktop environment. This is because PipeWire/WirePlumber will parse ALSA UCM and create sinks. How Has This Been Tested? build image boot form usb drive test sound in CLI and DE Checklist: …

Description This PR is part of the big repo cleanup ✨ I tried to find references for the old toolchains. The only reference I could find that was actively using an external toolchain in meson-s4t7. There I have bumped the compiler from 7.3.1 to 7.4.1. A 2019 compiler seems like a good fit to compile a 2019 u-boot :) @viraniac Other than that, I found only this: https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/560993ac7aff4aafc94c8533b8d84eda73b4d656/lib/functions/host/external-toolchains.sh#L26-L37 I have kept every torrent that is referenced in that list, apart from the first few ones which are 10+ years old now and would probably not really work well on a modern machine anyway.…

Armbian's next release boots the FriendlyElec NanoPi M5 end-to-end from UFS on a mainline U-Boot, with no proprietary recovery image in the loop. It is the first RK3576 board in the catalogue to reach this state, and the integration pattern paves the way for the others. UFS, the storage class that replaced eMMC in phones, is packet-based and full-duplex with command queuing. The practical gain over an SD card shows up in random I/O, in latency under concurrent load, and in write endurance that holds up over years of deployment. FriendlyElec ships UFS on the M5 because the RK3576 has a native UFS controller, a sensible choice for any board destined for kiosks, robots, or i…
