Hi, This is new to me and probably to you too. If you look a little bit around in this Forum you will find that RPi-Monitor is a well known tool and can be adjusted to your SoC. Now I found this project on Github RPi-MonitorWatcher Raspberry Pi Monitor Watcher is an Android application to view the status of your Raspberry Pis. It uses the API provided by Raspberry Pi Monitor. Someone might now think "my mobile has a browser" what do I need this for. Because you can I cannot find an .apk if you are smarter than me and know what I have to do to get this I would be grateful. Cheers Tido

  5. Hello all, I was wondering if it is possible to run some sort of script when the power button on the Orange Pi PC is pressed? I was thinking I could use this to run a safe shutdown script of some kind, rather than having to SSH in every time. I've tried looking into the GPIOs but I could never get the button to show up in the list of available inputs. Any advice? Thanks for any input.

Another flavour of Arm Linux. FatdogArm is a port of Fatdog64 to the ARM platform. Currently in Beta release, it is based on Fatdog64 and thus shares much of Fatdog64 features. Like Fatdog64, FatdogArm is intended for desktop-style operations but on the lower-cost ARM-based systems. FatdogArm currently was originally built on A10/Mele A1000 hardware, although it can be easilyadapted for other platforms. These days, FatdogArm is known to run is A20/Cubieboard, Odroid-U2, Odroid-U3, OLPC XO-1.75, OLPC XO-4 Touch, Pandora, Cubox-i i2, Cubox-i i4pro, and Google Nexus7 2012. There are 5" FullHD LCD panels available on aliexpress for phones (HTC Drod DNA, HTC M7 etc.) as low as 15$, I thought about driving them with a controller board for interfacing HDMI (opi) <> MIPI DSI (lcd) but couldn't find that much about it. There are DIY Oculus DK1 kits on ali selling for 240$ that includes these boards and a LCD, and there is a hackaday project that sells for 99$ only board. Any thoughts about a cheaper solution? Is it worth starting an Armbian wiki? It seems that for questions such as how do I write the raw file to an SD card, how do I disable LEDs on my whicheverPi, why doesn't my orange pi pc boot this work in progress image and so forth could be answered there. Hopefully it would reduce the Forum traffic for such things, but also when they do pop up a simple one line response with the wiki link is all that's required. I realise that there is the Armbian documentation, which is great, but only really covers how to use Armbian to build images. Equally there is gold mine of information in the forum, but it's sometimes buried a few pages deep or only comes to the surface…

As they say a picture is better than a thousand words. Often the online Banana PI/Lamobo PI diagrams can be confusing, and do not even try to guide yourself by Banana PI pinouts / photos of placement of hardware products/extensions. I will reiterate again, as this can be a source of confusion, the Banana PI is a rebranded Lamobo product, and the GPIO bus is different/rotated 180º. For example if I bought 10 OPi PC's and stuck them in a case with an Ethernet switch and a hard drive could I build Armbian really really quickly (typing make -j40 would be nice ;-) or would it ultimately just get bogged down and do nothing?

Should fit a 2.5inch HDD clearance should be good for any HDD height and a 40mm fan to keep everything cool. https://plus.google.com/+VladConut/posts/83DE48BfaeV?pid=6253694765056043538&oid=107327773320252263907

Two things: - If no HDMI is pluged in, /dev/fb0 disapears. Replug and it's there again. Must that be? (This nearly made me crazy 'till I found out!). - Compilation of external Drivers doesn't work anymore after new update. I have the precise error not here because I reinstalled generic version, but it's reproducable. (e.g with that: http://www.linuxdevcenter.com/pub/a/linux/2007/07/05/devhelloworld-a-simple-introduction-to-device-drivers-under-linux.html?page=2). Cheers Thomas

Hi everyone, I'm looking at a project to provide a Media Server in a small bar to the customers along with an Intranet webserver and Wireless Internet gateway. I want the internal LAN consisting of my Desktop PC and the new SBC server to be running GbE and for the SBC to be serving data from a 2.5" 250Gb SATA drive directly rather than over a USB bridge. This has led me to a choice of a Cubie board or Banana Pi connected to a GbE switch or alternatively I could simply get the Banana router board and avoid the extra switch device. (I'm leaning towards the router board as it will be less devices and therefore consume less power, unless there is a major disadvantage …

Hi friend! Need some help with postfix settings. Here is the situation. i have 2 servers, 1 with fully configured mail with postfix and dovecot. Another one with web server apache2 and just postfix (for sending the mail messages through the php mail function). Have a public static ip address. So when i need to send a message from server 2 to email that located on mail service 1, i am getting timeout error message. In fact in log i can see, that server 2 looking in dns for MX and then going to ip address that filled under A on port 25. So my ip is going to my ip:25. How can i give my postfix on server 2 the instructions to connect to server 1 directly in my priv…

Thinking about buying a couple pcDuino3 Nano Lite's for $15 each and installing armbian on a SD and then connecting an external usb powered 2.5" HD to it. Think the USB port could even handle that? The pcDuino would just be powered by a 2A adapter. Want to see if I can try creating a glusterfs cluster with two of these.

Hello all, After reading the Pine forums and having @tkaiser point out a few things I overlooked and/or missed I figured this might be a good place to ask a question that I've been trying to find the answer to. Please note that I'm not much of a hardware guy, I know the basics, enough to be dangerous. I am primarily a web applications developer and I use Raspberry Pis currently as testbeds for my server code. How do I accomplish this? Well I have (currently) a 7 Pi docker swarm based on hypriot's swarm image (I think it's a really cool package). Now for my question: I've been fine on CPU usage with only a few spikes, usually from an issue in the code I've written,…

Hi guys I'm desperately trying to get VPSD to run on my Cuboxi4Pro, I'm very close but need some help getting over the line. VPSD is a Serial to TCP hardware to software solution. I've run it on debian for years happily, I've now compiled it on armbian, there are two main components. An executable that is initiated with /etc/init.d/vspm which creates virtual devices in /dev/, this part is working fine. Then there is vspd which creates the daemon, the binary did get built but when I try and run it I get the following: root@cubox-i:~# /etc/init.d/vspd start starting vspd.../etc/init.d/vspd: line 47: /usr/local/vspd/sbin/vspd: cannot execute binary file [FAILURE] /etc…

  77. Igor, Like the new direction... you have the best image for all boards, and I like how you're formalizing it. One thing I noticed, you don't have any SSL during account creation and login. Granted this isn't a bank, but it would be nice if you enabled SSL during login and account creation. Especially these days with all the security breaches we have. Cheers.

I just wanted to support you in your move from ROM to Distro. Having up to date kernels, learning to make up to date kernels and absolutley great compile updates are what separate what you've been doing from other projects. I know quite well that it's not easy doing your own funky tech thing, and wish to congratulate you on seeing it through! Best wishes, a fan of your work! -Jake
