Hi, i am running armbian stretch on an OrangePi PC with "-dev" kernel and uboot. This was originally an jessie installation with legacy kernel, that was upgraded. 7. Hi all, i am completely new to armbian and to be honest not yet completely convinced to change from bananian even that the time should have come. Until now, on my Bananapi M1, bananian was running without any problems. A few days ago, i tried to get familiar to armbian (debian stretch) for the first time on a test-SD-card. Now my problem: Since these tests, i am not able anymore to shutdown my running bananian-system to power off. The system seems to halt, but the power is not turned off and a few seconds later the Bananapi restarts. The problem remains even on a clear bananian1604-image. But: On the testSD-card under armbian the shutdown comm…

  8. For days now I have been fighting to get this thing working. No boot, No hdmi, no sound, no wireless network and so on. Armbian is anyway the best choice for this device, Supported? well yes if you have lan, true HDMI Well i got it to boot, after writing a new image to sd card. finally booted, no signal detected ( with a DVI > HDMI ), I had to hook it up to a true HDMI and modify the script.bin file to get a signal. Got it to boot all the way to the desktop. Hurray ! Plugged in a crappy wifi adapter from Ali express (realtek 8081 i think it is) and I got wifi, jippi. Next time booting no wifi, no matter what I tried. Made a new image again, with modi…

  9. I'm running some stress test on the NanoPi neo2 512mb, CPU heating reached 75-76 degrees, and it's stable, the problem that I faced is that the computer changed it's IP suddenly (after 55 minutes of test running), I guess it's because of a network card reset. Did anyone face the following issue? Is it related to the stress test? Or it's another networking problem? The test I'm running is with the "stress" tool, running long time stress on 4 CPUs. In addition, does anyone have any insights regarding this device? good or bad?

  10. Greetings all, See my last post in thread for method I found to get around issues. EDIT: This may be limited to is an apt issue DNS seems ok after all. Use nmtui to edit network config not armbian-config None of what follows should be taken as complaining. I have done numerous hours of reading and searching (due diligence). I know I could run a benchmarks and all but that means even more delay reaching the objective. Some brief guidance from those who have gone before would save a lot of time and would be greatly appreciated. Looking at the datasheets wasn't real helpful in guesstimating optimum performance configuration - especially since there are so many other factors that have an impact. 17. Hi all, I've been struggling with the issue in the topic for a few days now. Actually the ideal solution would be a read-only root file system (with a writable overlayfs on top), so that I can just turn the power off, without risking any SD-card/filesystem corruption. There seems to be an easy solution for that according to this page: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Advanced-Features/ section "How to freeze your filesystem?". But the package "overlayroot" that is mentioned there does not seem to be available for Debian (Armbian Stretch). A quick attempt to adopt the overlayfs-startup scripts to Debian failed, because Debian is using systemd and the…

After researching it for a while I noticed that the wlan0 interface sometimes lost it's IP address. At first I thought it had something to do with the DHCP lease or sleep mode of the adapter. I just couldn't get my head around it and I ended up removing network-manager and going back to creating an interfaces.conf file for setting up my network interfaces. Somehow this solved the issue, the WiFi connection hasn't failed since! To do this, first create the wpa supplicant configuration file: ~# …

Good day! I connect the real time clock, made according to the instructions: RTC time is set I set the wrong time in the RTC, reboot. I look at the time in the system clock - at first not the right one, from the RTC, then they are synchronized and it becomes the right one. But in RTC, the new correct time is not recorded. What am I doing wrong? Or what else needs to be done?

  47. Hi all, I'm puzzled how everybody is building clusters of cheap SBC's, but nobody is implementing HA, redundancy, resiliency, failover, etc. They're just SBC's networked together. The SBC's are underprovisioned for Ceph, so I think that even if a Ceph configuration was managed to be shoehorned in, it wouldn't perform well. I don't know if DRDB is an option. How are people actually doing implementing real clustering technology on Orange Pi, for example? I'm using OPi+2E. Kind regards, Andrew

The HDMI output / Display work fine if I have HDMI connected to the HDMI port of BPi and monitor/tv is turned on before Armbian booting process starts. However if I don't have HDMI connected before boot process or Monitor/Tv is not turned on then I don't see the display if I connects the HDMI or turned on Monitor later. 93. Hi, I would like to run Armbian Stretch (mainline kernel 4.14.y) on Bananapi M1. Board has an issue - sd card detect pin is broken. In legacy kernel 3.4.y there was an easy workaround to change paramter sdc_detmode = 1 to sdc_detmode = 3 in /boot/script.bin file. How would I do this on 4.14 kernel which as I understand doesn't use script.bin anymore? I setup Virtualbox with Ubuntu 18.04 and I can compile image with default options. I only need guidance in what parameter and in which file to change.

Hello, Unfortunately as I read from forums mainline kernel has no driver for gc2035 and v4l2 driver. I have tried Armbian_5_65 and Armbian_5_59 debian stretch but they are not contains these drivers and eventually modprobe command fails. As I understand, I have 2 different solutions to run camera on my system; 1- Going back to legacy build. But I do not know how to go back the legacy build which is last supporter these drivers. 2- Installing required drivers. (Also I want to prefer this solution because going back to legacy build may cause some bugs) How can I install required drivers to mainline stable build and where can I find …

  95. hdparm -t gives only 2-3MB/s for the internal mmc card. Any ideas? The card does over 80MB/s on my workstation.

  97. In the last weeks I've successfully installed Armbian Debian Stretch 5.59 onto a Banana Pi M2 Berry, now I'm trying with a Banana Pi M1. From https://www.armbian.com/bananapi/ I've downloaded the Debian Stretch image and wrote it to my 4GB SD-card using Etcher (on Windows 10) - Etcher meant it was successfully after writing. I've safely ejected the SD-card from Windows, plugged it into the Banana Pi M, but it tries to boot from the network. Then I've taken a look at https://dl.armbian.com/bananapi/archive/ and downloaded Armbian-5.59 Debian Stretch image, wrote it with Etcher again, booted. Same issue. It shows a red armbian logo with "initializing boot loader…

Hello I have Opi lite 2 + 28byj-48 driver and step motor, and I want to play around, but can't find RPi.GPIO for OPi lite 2, how can I make it work ? I find pretty good example with raspberry pi http://www.raspberryproject.pl/en/automation/28byj-48-stepper-motor-raspberry-pi/ , I rearranged GPIOs to fit my board but I have error: File "testy.py", line 4, in <module> import RPi.GPIO as GPIO ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'RPi' Welcome to ARMBIAN 5.67.181116 nightly Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS 4.19.2-sunxi64
