I want to downgrade the kernel because auf random freezes on my Banana Pi and was following this tutorial to downgrade to Mainline stable kernel (Armbian 5.31): At apt.armbian.com I can find all required packages except for: linux-firmware-image-next-sunxi According to the linked thread I need this package otherwise the system may not start anymore. Could someone tell me where to find that package? Thanks :-)

I have a NanoPi Neo Core with eMMC..I have installed armbian os from "https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/" to sd card and tried the "Armbian configuration utility" and "nand-sata-install" to install os to eMMC. But it is showing "there are no targets..please check your drives."..If we give "fdisk -l" command it is not detecting the eMMC. How to solve this issue??

Hi, I want to use g_ether on NanoPi Neo Plus2. For Neo Air, I have already figured out how to do this and I can see usb0 in config. But with armbian 5.85 (4.19.38-sunxi64), the same instructions fail at sudo ifconfig usb0 up with the message "usb0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device". Could somebody tell me how to activate USB OTG on NanoPi Neo Plus2 and then use g_ether. I think the same holds true for g_serial. This could be an alternative, but I would prever ethernet connection. My target: Connect NanoPi Neo Plus2 with NanoPi Neo Air via Ethernet Thank you for your help! Steps I followed for g_ether:

Just a quick question due to having just updated and rebooted my Cubietruck.... I was running 5.38 mainline Stretch, but I see that armbian-firmware 5.45 was installed over 5.38... so shouldn't the welcome screen now be saying "Welcome to ARMBIAN 5.45" instead of "Welcome to ARMBIAN 5.38" still? Or is that package not the one that determines the Armbian 'version'? Maybe a better question would be what would update /etc/armbian-release ? The update process was otherwise smooth and doesn't seem to have rise to any nasty surprises . I also look forward to trying out the pineH64 image since I see that has just made a big jump, as well as th…

Hello Armbian-Folks, more than two years ago I purchased a CubieTruck and installed Cubian with kernel 3.4.79 on the microSD. The system is running since then and serving as airprint server, boinc client and monitoring device for my internet connection. Basically I use it more or less as a headless server. Now I would like to have this system more future ready and looking for an upgrade path. The kernel is quite old and the distro is based still on debian wheezy. Also Cubian is dead and not maintained anymore. Are you able to help or provide some good starting tipps to upgrade my system to new kernel and maybe armbian (debian jessy) as distro? I was search…

Hi there, i needed to recreate my cubietruck as a VDR with a brand new image. I´ve choose the plain http://mirror.igorpecovnik.com/Armbian_4.2_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_4.1.6.zip image to install but after booting it got stuck at "Welcome to Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie)!" and after many minutes " (TIME) Time out waiting for device dev-ttyS0 device. (DEPEND) Dependency failed for Serial Getty on ttyS0." appears. I downloaded the 3.4.108 kernel image which installed and ran ok apart of that the USB connection dropped after a while which is a problem for my VDR: [ 8.301636] eth0: PHY ID 001cc915 at 0 IRQ 0 (sunxi_gmac-0:00) active [ 8.306840] eth0: PHY ID 001cc915 a…

Hi guys, Quick question about the USB ports on the Cubietruck. Once I am done with the usual setup procedure (changing the root password and setup a user) system reboot. I sometimes end up in situations where I need to access the Cubietruck directly and not through ssh. In such situations I noticed that my usb keyboard and mouse do not respond at all, eventhough if these are the exact same ones hich I used to the 1first time setup. What could be the reason for this ? Thx,blub4747

Hi, to resume the problem I encounter please let me introduce the network I use. 1) a main modem/router called BBox2 which is a Sagem F@st 3464 connected in LAN-WAN to a 2) a secondary router called Lamobo R1 (also named Banana Pi R1 = BPi R1) 3) a laptop connected to the BPi-R1 4) I think to connect IP camera to the BBox2 then need to stay in the same network range (so I presume I need to change the conneciton used in 1) from LAN-WAN to LAN-LAN isn't it ?) Good day Armbian Forums! I'm having some trouble with builds of Armbian (up to and including 21.08.6 | kernel 5.10.60-sunxi) seeing wireless access points that are configured to channels 12 & 13 on my Orange Pi Zero Plus2 boards (H3 + 256mb RAM). Specifically, the default Android image (a generic Chinese-language Android multimedia system) that's loaded onto these boards can see and connect to access points that have been set to all channels (1-13) successfully, but any Armbian image I have tried fails to see anything (and subsequently cannot connect) to routers on channels 12 & 13. Due to the nature of this, I believe it may be a region setting or dri…

Hi all, I've one minor issue with my Lamobo R1. I've to set the coherent_pool to > 256KiB to get my USB DVB device working. But every time I set the coherent_pool to e.g. 2M and regenerate the boot.scr the device gets in an endless boot loop (starting uboot - starting kernel - changes resolution and starts to load drivers - but then crashes with graphic errors and starts all over again). Is there something I can do against this? I've compiled the v3.0 with Jessie 3.4.107 with following kernel paramters configured (and sunxi uboot v2015.04): MEDIA_SUPPORT=m VIDEO_DEV=m SOUND=m GMAC_FOR_BANANAPI=y CMA=y CMA_SIZE_MBYTES=16 Greetings, Oliver

My Orange Pi PC running Armbian gets disconnected from both SSH and VNC after maybe 20 minutes or so out of nowhere, no matter if idle or doing anything. I can't connect back until I restart the entire SBC by keyboard. The pi is useless to me if I can't run it "headless". I'm wondering if it's a MAC problem. I have a pfSense router I built myself and have had different subnet addresses. I've made sure the MAC address isn't repeated on another subnet address, though. I know the Raspberry Pi has a way to change it, but does the OPi PC as well? The MAC "problem" is just a guess, though. I really don't know what's with the disconnection issues. I'm no …

Hi, couple of month ago I installed Armbian on my Cubietruck. Hi there, I am new to OrangePi and Linux as well and that's probably why I have faced my first problem I could not find an answer on web. I use OP Lite with the latest debian jessie. And there is the problem (or just a bug): after some time of using WiFi (and wwan) I wanted to disable it in order to reduce "excessive" power consumption. So firstly I had disabled it via "nmcli" and after a while I found out about "h3consumption" command. But recently I wanted to install (and download) but none of the above commands were able to re-enable them. Any ideas how to re-enable (besides loading new OS image) ? In addition, I noted that changind "h3consumption" is not a…

It used to function fine, however after not using it for awhile it has quit working. It starts booting normally, then hangs with what's visible on the screen being a bunch of systemd messages, with the last being either something about system variables or mounting FUSE file filesystem, when it's the latter it's followed up with a kernel panic. I've reflashed several times using both the server and desktop images freshly downloaded, no difference. The power supply I'm using worked before, as did the SD card. Unfortunately I have no way of showing you system logs or such for the time being. Any help would be appreciated.

I just got 4 NanoPi Duos v1.1 and the OTG port functions (unlike v1.0)! This is with the FriendlyElec image. I was wondering should I compare the FriendlyElec's sun8i-h2-plus-nanopi-duo.dtb to the one on Armbian? I already tried messing with Armbian's sun8i-h2-plus-nanopi-duo.dtb by changing usb@01c19000 status = "okay" and adding dr_mode = "host". I'm not sure I can just drop in the dtb? Any way, I'll see what I can figure out. I'm excited the OTG port works now for more than just power since that saves you from buying the Mini Shield if you have a simple project that just needs a USB drive or camera.

TKaiser. If you install the Desktop version of Armbian 5.10 then the following list of codecs (containing h.265 with 8 bit but not 10 bit!) is available for HW accelerated decoding: http://linux-sunxi.o...ed_codec_matrix Is 8 Bit versus 10 Bit a limitation. Can the Orange Pi PC with Armbian 1.10 decode all HEVC 8 or 10 bit encoding to 8 bit decoding, or can it ONLY do 8bit encoded to 8 bit decoding? Seasalt

Hi, in the last weeks I'been trying to use the serial ports 5 and 6 (tty5, tty6) of the cubieboard2 using DTB but still not working. First of all, I must said that i'm not a linux expert, only a linux user with some experience and all the information below is the result of multiple weeks of internet research. for the moment i'm able to get the cubieboard2 to recognize the ports, and using a c++ program I write on all serial ports, i get a response from tty0 but can't get the gio pins of the serial ports 5 and 6 to work. here is what I have done so far: first, I downloaded the device tree compiler sudo apt-get install device-tree-compiler then, nav…

Hi there, I have configured (successfully with NetworkManager GUI, or TUI, it was quite ago, can see it in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ ) my OPi3 as an WiFi AP. (Needed this as sharing "normal" LAN traffic with video surveillance on same WiFi channel was a disaster). It works, but in "scan" on OpenWRT routers this WIFi shows only as WPA not WPA2 protected. Armbian Buster 21.02.3. Why? How to correct this? Laurent

I installed the image Armbian_20.08.1_Orangepiplus2e_focal_current_5.8.5_desktop.img on my Orange PI Plus 2E and I installed RetroArch to setup a retro gaming board. Everything installed ok but all games even weak games like for Super Nintendo, are running slow and no audio, does anyone here already tried to get RetroArch working on this board? Audio is not working , it uses pulseaudio and it's installed already. I already tested RetrOrange Pi image, it uses Armbian too I guess, most of the games runs at full speed, the reason I am not using is that is a little outdated, some emulators doesn't work and some are missing and I personally …

Hi, Just as my last post. I want to know if it is possible to wakeup opi3 after I switch its state to "mem" or "disk" using gpio on CON12. I have doing some reasch but I don't know if it is right: PL/PM port can be used as wakeup source. PF/G/H/L/M port support interrupt event. PC/D didn't support interrupt. But when I try to write a device tree file, but it just report some error with error code -22. My device three is like this: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun50i-h6"; /* * This fragment is needed only for the internal pull-up activation, * external pull-up resistor is highly recommended if using long wires */…

Hello guys, apparently there is a new product in the orangepi lineup. It is the PC+ (PC Plus), which has 8gb EMMC and a Wifi chip onboard. The rest of the features seems to be the same as the plain OrangePI PC. The new SBC can't be found on the orangepi official site, but it is available on aliexpress: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Orange-Pi-PC-Plus-ubuntu-linux-and-android-mini-PC-Beyond-Raspberry-Pi-2/1553371_32668618847.html

Hello everyone I have an orangepi zero with a Micro-USB (OTG) socket and an A-USB socket integrated into the board. Using the Armbian_5.35_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.13.16 system, a micro-USB cable connected to a Windows computer will have an ELMOG MAS COM device that makes it easy to manage orangepi zero. However, this Micro-USB socket is easily damaged after many times of plugging and unplugging. Can I use the A-USB socket as the USB device mode? thank you all

Is it possible to include an older kernel in my build? Something along the 3.x era? I really need to get an OV5640 working, and it would seem that 5.x kernels don't work with it. The FA is running their latest distribution: http://www.mediafire.com/file/kc44mm1mdahslho/nanopi-m1_debian-jessie_4.11.2_20170905.img.zip By default the device tree for the FA has the USB controller (usb@01c19000) marked as disabled and is missing the dr_mode = "OTG" attribute. Hello everyone, Around July 2018 I was able to successfully build an Armbian image for NanoPi Duo using provided documentation: https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/ The reason I decided to build the image was that I needed it with legacy kernel 3.4.113. For some reason there were significant problems with using the mainline kernel with direwolf application which is an amateur radio APRS modem. The device hanged with mainline kernel after few hours of operation without any reason and this was not an overheat problem (temperatures below 50 degrees and a huge heatsink). I believe that it is some problem with audio driver for H2 wh…

Legacy kernel works well, but I wasn't able to just upgrade kernel and u-boot on it, but that resulted in unbootable system -- which packages I have to install to migrate from legacy to upst…

I just reinstalled my Cubietruck with the Debian jessie, image from http://mirror.igorpecovnik.com/Cubietruck_Debian_4.1_jessie_3.4.108.zip. Only one core is available. What could I do so that the two cores are detected? For what it's worth, the bootloader briefly displays a "checksum error" message. Could it be that I'm still using the old bootloader from the previous installation? (It was Debian wheezy in summer 2014.) Thanks in advance for advice.
