  4. i'm trying to make suspend on lid close work. i saw in this thread that some people are aware that there's a problem. i'd prefer to achieve this from within xfce4-power-manager. here's the thing: 1. using the normal xfce desktop * for "when laptop lid is closed", only 'lock screen' and 'switch off diplay' are available * "System sleep mode" is completely grayed out, as well as security 'lock screen when system is going to sleep' * the 'Ask' option is available only for "Buttons". Choosing it, then choosing "Suspend" from the dialog, causes the ui to hang (desktop darkened), but after a minute i can 'escape' …

  8. I've tried both revisions (Bionic and Stretch) for this board located at: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ Both have the same issue. When I boot from sd card, run armbian-config, and attempt to transfer armbian OS to emmc I get an error 'no target'. I know that there is indeed built 8GB flash, because when I pull the sdcard, and power the board it boots into the pre-configured android OS. Here is a picture I took of the board: https://photos.app.goo.gl/5ELPTTnPbZXAybhe9 Any advise would be helpful. Thank You.

I have used raspberry and there I just type "raspistill -d" and a demo pops up. How do I do something like that? After browsing around I found that "modprobe gc2035" is along those lines but I only get "command not found". Doing a linux find does not find "modprobe". I reckon I have to install something else but what?

  24. Hi all and many thanks to armbian team - it is a great distro. I installed armbian to my orange pi pc (just pc, not pc+) and it works. TV out works too. But no one of my usb wi-fi adapters are supported by default kernel 3.4. This is why I go to "kernel" tab at page https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/and follow instructions to switch to development kernel. Also I follow instruction at "Nighty releases" tab in order to get the newest versions of software. After installing new kernel I edit symlik /boot/script.bin to point to "bin/orangepipc.bin" instead of default "bin/orangepipcplus.bin" and reboot. Orange pi boots successfully and I can log in via ssh, but tv sign…

  25. Like whaaaaaa... Okay, so long and frustrating story short, I have been having inexplicable stability issues on my Banana Pro. I have blamed the SD card, the power supply, the micro USB cable, but none of those leads seemed to actually lead anywhere. I connected up a Fluke multimeter to the SATA power output, set to peak min mode, to see if I get any undervolting... Nope, no problem there. I ran stress tests on my sd card on my computer - it was PERFECT. I was completely stumped... Until, after getting an Anker charging cable, and having a really good run with the new Armbian release - the system had been working for an hour without glitches, apt-get worked, I hav…

  26. Hey all, Sorry for the noob question, I posted this in another topic but it hasn't seen any action so I thought I would make a post. I have an Orange Pi PC, using the RetroOrangePi build which is based on Armbian. I'm having overscan issues on my 720p TV. I checked the options on the PC, there's no way to fix it there. They figured it out in this topic here (where I initially asked this question): The solution is to add code to u-boot in order to solve the overscan, or edit boot.cmd. My question is, will using u-boot be the best solution, or is it better to edit boot.cmd? Do I simply create a boot.cmd in something like note…

I'm going to use MIPI DSI LCD with OrangePi Win. In default configuration MIPI DSI is disabled. I activated Samsung DSI panel in kernel configurator. But it seems it always compiles default configuration. I don't see mipi dsi in dmesg. And image size is always exactly same, doesn't matter make I change in configurator or not. So my question how to compile whole image with MIPI DSI support? Thank in advance!

  31. Hi, I've got a pair of OrangePi 3 LTS boards running the CLI only install of Debian Bullseye with a kernel of 5.15.89-sunxi64 and all the latest updates applied. But when I run the 'top' command, I always see a load of 1.0 or higher. Even when the system is completely idle. I'm running the system of the eMMC, not SDcards. I realize that this is really more of a cosmetic issue, but I was hoping someone had a suggestion on how to fix it. The system is mostly idle, it's a test box or remote management system, so it's not really critical, and the load doesn't go high anyway. Cheers, John

I will describle here about the 5.1.21 kernel but I think it can work for any kernel. 1. create lib.config file under build/userpatches with the following: KERNELBRANCH='branch:orange-pi-5.1' 2. And this is what create the magic: download the Armbian files that matches that distribution and replace all the files in the build directory: for example I have downloaded from here - This link is the build version from the branch of the 5.1.: https://github.com/FireflyTeam/armbian-build/tree/e…

  46. Hello, for my BananaPi I recently downloaded "Armbian_21.05.1_Bananapi_buster_current_5.10.34.img" and did not get the on-board CAN controller working with this image. I found out that in sun7i-a20-bananapi.dtb (uses sun7i-a20.dtsi) the group name for the CAN pins PH20 and PH21 has changed from "can0_pins_a" to "can_ph_pins" but in the sun7i-a20-can overlay this change had not been done accordingly, and the DT merging failed. So changing "sun7i-a20-can.dts" to: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun7i-a20"; fragment@0 { target = <&can0>; __overlay__ { pinctrl-names = "default"; pinctrl-0 = <&can_…

  49. I just reinstalled my Cubietruck with the Debian jessie, image from http://mirror.igorpecovnik.com/Cubietruck_Debian_4.1_jessie_3.4.108.zip. Only one core is available. What could I do so that the two cores are detected? For what it's worth, the bootloader briefly displays a "checksum error" message. Could it be that I'm still using the old bootloader from the previous installation? (It was Debian wheezy in summer 2014.) Thanks in advance for advice.

Several aesthetic considerations: After the upgrade, reboot and login, the welcome screen and 100% battery!!! Hurrah!!! It seems that the MMC is 9% occupancy and ... oh! my hdb disk has only one partition? ah no, only reads hdb1. And the other two disks? I have two mounted partitions but only shows one. 52. Hi, Nanopi M1 is so similar to Orange Pi One that you can use the amazing work provided by jernejsk and run Openelec using the VPU of the H3. Here are the links : * Main page * prebuilt images list * Github project * The issue I've opened I'm using the embedded IR Sensor with my remote (that was the toughest part) and the only modification I made was to change to cpufreq governor from performance to conservative but if you use the latest image you shouldn't have to do that. Well so far so good. I'm using a little heat sink and the cpu temperature is between 60°C and 80°C depending of the video I'm playing.

I have connected a transmitter which communicates using SPI and an additional GPIO PIN to send interrupts. The device is not working yet and I try to find out the problem. It works fine with an Rasp. For example, I'm a little bit confused about the following: /sys/class/gpio/gpio5/direction shows me "in" "gpio readall" shows me: | 18 | 1 | OUT | GPIO.5 | 5 | 24 | Of course, I could change the mode using the gpio command, but I would expect, that both values match? Via serial console I undid the change I made prior to the fateful reboot (adding 'overlays=uart1' to '/boot/armbianEnv.txt') and rebooted again, but to no avail. Having searched for the issue, I also confirmed that my power supply is sufficient; running 'stress -c 2 -m 2', and measuring across pins 2 (5V) and 6 (GND) of the 40-pin header, I get 5.05V. As I don't have a network connection, I did not run 'sudo armbianmonitor -u', but I gathered the following …

  68. Ok, so, first of all, I am a complete noob. I bought Banana Pi thinking that it is similar to Raspberry Pi's architecture but it's obviously not. I bought a 240x240 Waveshare 1.3 inch hat and I was wondering how to get it working on my Banana Pi Zero (H2+). On Raspberry Pi I can use Juj's fbcp-ili9341 driver but it's probably not compatible with Armbian, right? How do I go about it? Also, it would be nice to know how to detect buttons (that are on the hat) and convert them to key strokes. Thanks!

  89. System: armbian, BananaPi Pro, sd card, sata ssd, usb hdd I manually moved my existing armbian system from sd card to a sata ssd. Then I changed the rootdev in armbianEnv.txt to the ssd´s UUID. After reboot I thought everything was ok. Then after a system update I figured out that the kernel version differs from the installed kernel modules. I think the new kernel and the modules are installed in /boot at /dev/sda whereas the kernel still boots from /dev/mmcblk0p1. How can I fix this? Here some information: root@pi-nas:/mnt/boot# lsblk NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT sda …

  90. Hello everyone, I am using Orange Pi Zero LTS 512MB (H3 Cpu) hardware. As an image; I am using "Armbian 22.08 Jammy Kernel 5.15.y, Updated: Sep 24,202". The MAC address changes every time the Wi-Fi is turned on. I tried several different images. I tried a few simple fixes posted on the forums, but only managed to fix it for ethernet. But it was not successful for Wi-Fi. I need an image or solution that does not change the MAC address. Is there anyone who can help with this?

Hi! I have a Hackberry and i've tried to install Debian jessie for Cubieboard. First I have installed a legacy version; hackberry boot up correctly but my keyboard don't work so i have replaced script.bin and overwrited u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin with the latest version (http://dl.linux-sunxi.org/nightly/u-boot-sunxi/u-boot-sunxi/u-boot-sunxi-latest/) and it's work. Then i've try to use Vanilla version. As the same, hackberry boot up correctly but my keyboard don't work. I've tried to recompile boot.cmd with correct dtb but nothing changed. Then i've tried to create uImage from zImage (linked to vmlinuz-4.2.3-sunxi) and overwrite u-boot.bin with the latest (…

  96. Hi all, some days ago I successfully built the image mentioned above (Build environment is Ubuntu 14.04/64 bit). The only remarkable issue was the ever-repeating "firstrun" script, which was easily solved with the method mentioned here: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/1100-post-install-scripts-on-every-reboot/#entry8509 (may be ALL of the scripts should be changed this way?) But today, after checking out the actual "master", I see a lot of failed copy and sed commands until the debootstrap-ng script finally fails at Mali-libdri2. The 1st occurrence of an error was during installation of "ramlog". I've inserted a breakpoint and looked into the imag…

How can I test it as I cannot see it with ALSAMIXER. TIA.

  98. Started by WarHawk_AVG,

Has anyone seen these? Awesome! Sure it's missing a few of the basic I/O ports such as monitor and KB...but with a Ubuntu headless setup...who needs keyboards/mice/monitors I have an old Raspberry Pi B [the 512mb and single core CPU) for $35 at my house running some VPN software, a TOR relay, and mumble VOIP server, this thing costs $7.99 and has a quad core! http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=132 In fact check out all their really small boards...heck the NanoPC-T3 is insane!!! Just a FYI if you haven't seen them yet

  99. Hi, I seem to be unable to create a working image for my Orange Pi PC+ with a 4.x kernel (I want to use Docker). I had a working 4.7.3 install but a recent (this week) apt-get upgrade installed a 4.8.x kernel (and probably a u-boot) after which my Opi PC+ will not boot anymore (my home-router shows the opi for a short time but it disappears before I can do a ssh to the Opi PC+). None of the images I have or create with a 4.x kernel seem to want to work. Only the 3.4.112 images that I download will work. Since I fried my uart0 and I haven't been able to use uart1 I have not been able to debug this. So I was hoping someone has a working image with a 4.x kernel …

  100. Hi there, I am a new user of OPi PC+, downloaded, flashed Armbian_5.20_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.img basic setup OK, got IP, changed passwords etc, GUI starts. As I don't have USB keyboard/mouse, I've opened SSH session, then set export DISPLAY=laptop2:0 , then xterm. OK. From BT side it also looks ok: adapter blinks, I can find my BT keyboard/mouse using hcitool scan Now the problem: if I launch bluetooth-applet / bluetooth-assistant it CRASHES (assistant) at step of PAIRING device. (applet still alive). So my quiestion is, how to pair this remote device without "assistant", and make it available as "normal" keyboard/mouse? [device …
