Hello guys, I have an annoying issue with my OPiPC where I simply cannot get HDMI output. I am certain it is not a hardware issue! My OPiPC works fine with HDMI output & android. I have tried a known good HDMI->DVI-D adapter with various settings, and direct HDMI connection with various settings. It is a fresh install of Armbian 5.20 with apt-get update & apt-get upgrade. I have tried a plethora of h3disp settings and direct bin2fex configs! What could be wrong? Here is the current setup I am testing, which I would like to get working: -LG W1942TQ ( 1440x900 native ) -Working HDMI cord and HDMI->DVI-D adapter Interesting bits of the fex file…

Hello, I've been trying to use DNSCrypt on ARMBian Debian on OrangePi Zero. I'm following this guide (exact revision link for future reference), and it was working great on Raspbian in Raspberry Pi, When I try the same guide, it compiles, installs successfully, runs the daemon, however it doesn't actually work, saying "connection timed out; no servers could be reached". When I'm not using daemon, and run manually, this time it says "Unable to bind (TCP)". But when I compile and use in Ubuntu, it works nicely. This is my GitHub issue on DNSCrypt repository, including all my tests and inputs: https://github.com/jedisct1/dnscrypt-proxy/issues/561 …

Hello, I have just been following the instructions set up here to make an access point out of my orange pi one which has the 4.9.4-sun8i dev kernels (they are not the problem). https://learn.adafruit.com/setting-up-a-raspberry-pi-as-a-wifi-access-point/install-software When I begin the first test I get an error that is spit out by the interface I guess? Hey there,I am having trouble with SPI on my Banana Pro. I am trying to access the SPI interface via WiringPI (the Lemaker Banana Pro version). But whenever I try to access it, it tells me: Unable to open SPI device: No such file or directory The message is correct, as there are no /dev/spi* files present. The question is: How do I get them?(according to http://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort#Status_Matrix it should be available since 3.15)For the 3.4.x, one had to load modules (spidev, etc.) but this doesn't seem to work for 4.9.x. There is a 'spidev' module which loads fine (according to lsmod) but with no recognizable…

Hello, I'm trying to install Armbian to my Orange Pi Zero. I tried stable (5.30), dev (5.30 and old (5.24 from January 2017) versions of Debian and stable version (5.30) of Ubuntu. They all have the same problem. I log in from ssh using root/1234. Then I get prompted for password change. I enter the old password, new password twice, then I get logged out without any error message. When I try to login again, the password is unchanged and same prompt screen. I tried to write the images to my sdcard using dd, gnome disks, etcher. dd was not working at all, but the others have the problem I mention above. I was worried if my sdcard is not s…

Hello everybody, I'm pretty new to Armbian and H3 boards. I own an Orange PI + 2 board brought more than 1 year ago, yesterday I started to play around with it and I've discovered that for some reason its Mali GPU doesn't support OpenGL ES and it's somehow related to it having 2 GB of RAM on board. I'm really not sure how it can be related, but that's what Armbian's changelog for v5.20 says: Later in v5.25 it says: So I just want to know if 2GB boards feature OpenGL ES support (as well as HW video decoding etc)? I tried to run glxheads, glxgears etc from mesa-utils package, but got some really poor FPS there + some games I used for …

Hello! I use OS armbian (2.9) on cubietruck board. I decided to upgrade to version 5.31 and have problems. Previously, parameters of hardware and interfaces SoC chip changed in the script.bin file. The bin2fex and fex2bin commands can edit these parameters. I do not understand where and what to edit (https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Allwinner_overlays/) For example, how can I change the capacity of a connected battery? Previously it was the parameter pmu_battery_cap in the [pmu_para] section, its default value is 2100 I need to change it to 5000. Please help!

Hi. When you install RPi monitor on a board using legacy 3.4 kernel (in my case, Orange Pi Plus2e), you can notice an error message in the "Memory" section of the web interface, as well as a very weird big number of used memory. That is caused because it tries to read some value from /proc/meminfo (named "MemAvailable") that wasn't implemented in that version of the kernel (I think it was implemented in 3.14, if I remember well). So I have made a custom version of the memory module, which gets the value for used and available memory using the same algorythm as HTOP, which has been many years around being very useful. I am attaching the file "memory_legacy…

My board works pretty well upto 1 000 00 Hz without fan and up to 1 200 000 Hz with (noctua) fan. However I am still using an usb wifi card, to be able to connect with ssh. Anyone having wifi with the built in wifi card work properly? Mine just shuts off. With an external wifi usb card, it works like a charm. Since my 3-d printers are in the living room I i have the orange pi:s in the living room. They are primary used for octoprint. I would like to have the built in wifi on orangepi prime to work.

Hi, I've got a quick question regarding the kernel upgrade instructions on a Cubietruck that runs on Igor's Debian image. Let me mention first that the system boots from my Cubietruck's NAND. However, the root partition and the /home partition are both installed on some SSD. I've followed the instructions about the kernel upgrade (3.4.106-cubieboard to 3.19.6-cubietruck) in order to be able to use the proper shutdown feature - as detailed on http://www.igorpecovnik.com/2013/12/24/cubietruck-debian-wheezy-sd-card-image/. I.e. I installed the various *.deb packages which were contained in the *.tar archive via `dpkg -i`. Then I ran the steps as desc…

I know the A20 isn't really build for OC, but I would still like to do some tests with it running at 1008Mhz. As far as I understand Kernel 4.X doesn't use the fex files anymore, but rely on the dts (dtsi) files. I edited sun7i-a20-bananapi.dts &cpu0 { cpu-supply = <®_dcdc2>; operating-points = < /* kHz uV */ 1008000 1425000 960000 1400000 912000 1400000 864000 1350000 720000 1250000 528000 1150000 312000 1100000 144000 1050000 >; }; I made sure the build script doesn't overwrite the edited dts file. But BananaPi still says the max freq is 960 instead of 1008. root@bananapi:/tmp# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0…

I am planning a project for a few Orange Pi Lites as multimedia devices. I'm trying to use a few of the GPIO pins as output pins on an Orange Pi PC+ running Armbian 5.26 and legacy kernel 3.4.113-sun8i. Hi! Is PMP support build-in in newer armbian images? I installed ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.4.3-sunxi on my banana pi. Or is a recompile still needed? PC+ arrived today. Formated 8 GB SD card with FAT32, copied Armbian_5.14_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.raw onto it. Green LED turns on after power applied to the board, but within seconds the red LED turns on. No output at all on HDMI. I had previously gotten a OPi PC (not plus) to work and was using it for a month so I am surprised that the PC+ is having these problems. Any suggestions? Different Linux distro? In desperation, I plugged the SD card used for the OPi PC (not plus) and it boots for several seconds, with HDMI printout stopping at "Starting LSB: tune IDE hard disks" with the red and green LEDs on. Thanks in advance....

Hi all, First of all, I must congratulate the Armbian team for such an amazing job! It is really terrific! I'm using Armbian on a NanoPi Neo where I'm running an application that relies on having low latency UART responses. My application is having a latency of around 10ms and I believe that it might be related to the tick rate defined in the Armbian kernel (http://www.makelinux.net/books/lkd2/ch10lev1sec2). I would like to increase the tick rate, however, I got a little lost when I tried to browse the Armbian repository. I couldn't find the actual Linux Kernel source code. In order to increase the tick rate I need to edit the file /include/asm-"ar…

Hello, all. My Orange Pi PC2 recently broke when doing an upgrade. So I hooked a serial cable to it and watched what it did. The error was that it couldn't find the dtb file. It was looking for "/boot/dtb/allwinner/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb" and "/dtb/allwinner/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb", but the former fails because the file is at "/boot/dtb/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb". So, I put a simlink in dtb/allwinner called 'allwinner' and pointing to the parent directory. Now the device boots. I'm not sure if that's the proper fix, but it works for now and I'll fix it if I manage to break something with it later on. Thi…

All, So in this example, let's use SMB, however it does seem to apply to any transport method i use. I seem to have an issue when writing to the Pi whereby the throughput will peak to 50MBps then drop right down and float around 9MBps. <a href="https://ibb.co/fSXXRG"><img src="https://thumb.ibb.co/fSXXRG/write.png" alt="write" border="0"></a> Local disk test shows shows circa 450 Rear and 50MBps write. I get the same results if i make use of the onboard flash or attach an SSD to the SATA port. Does anyone know what's happening here? it's not the source device that is causing this, It appear…

I'm having trouble porting some WiringPi programs to my NanoPi Neo. I have an original neo v1.0 running the latest armbian stretch (as of Oct 04 2018). Have tried several, including mstroh76/WiringNP, and can compile, but programs hang when executed. I'm okay if this is the deep-end of the pool but I wanted to verify that I an indeed in deep waters or if I'm doing something dumb and really in the shallow waters and all I have to do is stand up to get my head out of the water. Which WiringPi library should I be using for C language programs on a NanoPi NEO v1.0 running a recent Armbina Stretch release?

Hello everyone, This is my first post to this forum. I am installing a software package on Armbian 5.60 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.70-sunxi for the Banana Pi M2+ and I have problem with the uname command in that when I pass the -i option it reports back unknown. Now I am unsure what function the software calls to determine the platform architecture so I cannot script around it, but this issue is preventing me from moving forward now. When I check some of the binaries with file command it reports back ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, ARM, EABI5. Anyway this causes the software I am installing to fail, any suggestions as to how to fix …

I have a new OPIz running ARMBIAN 5.70 stable Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.113-sun8i with Pihole version 4.1 (latest). The Opi is connected only with eth0 with a static IP address. Its running a 32G sandisk Ultra (class 10) with a verified image using Etcher. The CPU is running at around 59c. It's unusable because the OPi keeps losing connectivity. Usually about every 12-24 hours but more frequently at times (sometimes two or three times an hour). So no ping, no ssh, no telnet. Ive implemented some scripts on the OPi to try and track down what's happening. But the first thing I notice is syslog gets cleared and/or has large gaps in it. …

Hello, when I connect R307 fingerprint reader to USB port, Linux identifies it as mass storage device. If the device is connected to the Orange Pi board before turning on, the system resets itself on early startup with "Resetting CPU..." message. What can be the reason and how to avoid it? I know about alternate serial connection, but would prefer to use USB. I use Armbian recent version with console image. Thanks in advance.

I have a board of Orange Pi One Plus with installed pihole (https://pi-hole.net/). Armbian image is Armbian Buster with latest updates. PRETTY_NAME="Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)" Each 2-4 hours the device hangs and not able to respond to any command until I reboot it. The max uptime that I was able to gain was ~25 hours. I've changed power adapters, powered it via microUSB - same result. Looking at the logs I really have no clue why it stucks. Attaching debug, kern and syslog. Probably someone may pinpoint what's going on. P.S. Previous OPi One (not Plus) worked for that purpose like a charm. Didn't know that bying Opi One+ for upgrade will buy me loos…

I built an image for the `orangepi-z-2w` via `./compile.sh build BOARD=orangepizero2w BRANCH=current BUILD_DESKTOP=no BUILD_MINIMAL=no KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no RELEASE=bookworm`. The wifi connects (shows as active), however, I am unable to get on the internet (pinging results in `network is unreachable`, also can't ping the device itself). Am I building wrong? Thanks! Some notes: - I've been using `Armbian_24.2.6_Orangepizero2w_bookworm_current_6.6.28.img.xz` in the past (downloaded from armbian.com), and the wifi works just fine.

Hi everyone, I'm using the Orange Pi Zero 3 and would really appreciate a lightweight desktop image with just the XFCE desktop, a web browser, and basic tools (like file manager, terminal, etc.) with video acceleration. The current Armbian desktop image works, but it includes a lot of software I don’t need. I’m looking for something more minimal — just enough for light use and a faster experience. Does anyone have (or know how to build) a stripped-down XFCE image for this board? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm here to dig into low power consumption with allwinner H6 boards, I own an OrangePi one plus and I'm already doing some tests. With an H3 board and legacy kernel I would simply tweak fex file to turn off the unnecessary, and there is already good material around this argument. But with mainline kernel there is no documentation about lowering power consumption. I would really appreciate some hints on how to tweak down consumption for H6 boards and mainline kernel, probably editing DT overlay or some other config/patch files, and re-building? I already tweaked the simplest things like: -Using fast ethernet instead of gigabit -Lowering max CPU frequency (…

In my project I need use 2 spi bus : /dev/spidev1.0 and /dev/spi2.0 /dev/spidev1.0 for 3.5inch rpi display and /dev/spidev2.0 for 8x8 led matrices, such as MAX7219-8x32-MCU-Drive-LED If I am use legacy kernel (3.4.113-sun7i) both spi buses work well But if use mainline kernel (4.14.18-sunxi), I can use only 1 spi bus This is my armbianEnv.txt: overlays=spi-spidev spi1 spi2 param_spidev_spi_bus=1 In this case I can use /dev/spidev1.0 If I set param_spidev_spi_bus=2 I can use /dev/spidev2.0 How to enable 2 spi buses at the same time ?

Im using armbian stretch on an Orange Pi Zero Plus. On normal boot up, the system hangs at starting version 232 for around 1-2 minutes. After this the system procedes to boot normally. What is this delay time and is there any way I can remove it?

Hi guys, today i wanted to access my BPi with armbian installed remote with SSH. Terminal says: port 22: Connection refused. I'm able to ping the BPi. At least last week I was able to access the BPi with remote SSH. When i connect it via HDMI i can see the boot process until it says loading kernel - then the screen turns all black and nothing happens anymore. If I try to access some installed webservices, the browser says it can't connect. What can I do?
