I'm trying to get the RPI 7in touchscreen working on armbian with my Tinker Board. Can anyone tell me how?
-
I played a bit with the SenseHAT from the RPi guys. Doesn't work fully but I get the first things working. What does run: Joystick 8x8 led matrix (partly, seems that there are some parts of the framebuffer not fully working) What doesn't run: all the sensors attached on the board What's missing: load it devicetree overlay (at the moment it's coded into the main dts) how-to what's needed to get it working on your tinker too I'll keep you updated.

Hi. I'm running Armbian 22.05.3 Focal with Linux 5.10.60-rockchip on an Asus Tinker board. Can someone tell me how to enable SPI? I've seen instructions that say you should be able to run armbian-config and go to System > Hardware > spi-spidev, however the Hardware menu does not exist for me.

Hi, has any of you some experience connecting a Hifiberry Amp+ to a Tinkerboard - on Hifiberry pages this is now a possible connecting but I miss a howto and would really appreciate a quick start on this. Have previously succeed with Raspberry 3 and IQaudio - but intend to take a step further and do a project being more than just an amplifier. After testing several OS I have to admit Armbian has become my favorite and it is within this OS I hope to achieve this.

Hallo!

I got wierd screen blinking after update kernel from 5.8.18-rockchip to 5.9.14-rockchip. Here is blurry video with screen blinking. My screen resolution is 1600x900 and i'm using HDMI-to-VGA adapter. All was working fine with kernel 5.8.18-rockchip. I still can connect to sbc via ssh, so I checked kernel version, install old one and blinking gone: q@tinkerboard:/var/cache/apt/archives$ uname -a Linux tinkerboard 5.9.14-rockchip #20.11.3 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 11 22:00:29 CET 2020 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux q@tinkerboard:/var/cache/apt/archives$ dpkg-deb -I linux-image-current-rockchip_20.11_armhf.deb new Debian package, version 2.0.…

Hello, I'm trying to show a startup logo a Tinker Board without success. I tried to add a parameter logo=/boot/boot.bmp to /boot/armbianEnv.txt but it doesn't work. Is the boot logo implemented on the Tinker Board? Does it require a patch? Thanks for your feedback.

I bought a Tinkerboard S and Tinker Aluminum case yesterday, but because of the case, it's Wifi function is almost non-exist, so I bought a TP-LINK TL-WN722N v2 two hours ago. I was hoping to get a V1, which has a lot of information on Wikidevi, and looks like it's going to work out-of-the-box, but I got a v2, and now I'm trying to get it to work. Wikidevi provided a link to driver repository, I downloaded main branch and type "make all" in terminal, it says /lib/modules/4.4.166-rockchip/build does not exist. I tried to search how to install kernel header and tried this command "sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)", it doesn't work/help. …

Is there an official way of installing libmali drivers on Armbian? I'm feeling a bit slow, since I can't really figure out how to install them. It seems like files from this github repo will overwrite other system files, so it's not a solution that would work in the long term.

i'm stuck with this since day 1 but now i upgraded to armbian (with kodi-gbm) i had this problem worse stress testing the board with stress -c 4 doesn't bring the board into shutdown, but logging in to kodi-gbm or using graphical interface? it brings instability all of a sudden. there's no inherent pattern from the shudowns except when i launch kodi or access some files (emby transcoding doesn't cause any instability). anything outside the text mode should cause it to shutdown. weirdly enough, when i removed the USB peripherals (2xUSB HDD, own power supply for both cases) the instability worsens and doesn't boot or sometimes reboot cycle after fsck.ext4 on sta…

Hi, since i have a Asus tinkerboard incoming i was wondering if anyone knows if the "generic" arm64 distro will work this board. Its based of the rockchip RK3288 SoC The support pages states that the board supports debian, but since i dont need a UI ect (im going to use it headless) i dont need the board to load a ui into memory and wanted to use a normal build instead of the TinkerOS Please note, my knowledge of the inner workings of *nix is quite limited, so if my question is to generic or imprecise i apologize.

There's a few problems with the UART driver on 5.0-rc2 kernels, since proper checks are not done correctly and lead to a Null Pointer dereference. Hello people, I have an Asus Tinker Board S and decided to use the Mainline Armbian for this board, love the new panfrost driver but seems it is glitching all over the place, icons in the menu disappear and reappear when mouse hovers over them, tick boxes do not show if they are ticked and only flicker when mouse is over them and applications menu keep redrawing all over when trying to use among the most prominent problems. Other operating systems work well in this matter. Anyone else is having these problems with the mainline 5.4.28 kernel build?

Hello. In Armbian 5.34 (default, next and nightly (26/10/2017) no have permission for create, edit and delet conection on network manager. To be able to modify a connection it is necessary to open the network manager in root. It's really very exciting. Looking on the internet it turns out that it will be a problem of "policy". I had already reported this bug on the post "tinkerboard". He had been tuned to a nightly version but he came back. my account is in the group netdev and sudo like ask in the polkit Would it be possible to have a "next" version fix this bug or have the procedure to fix the error? thank

Hello, I have been experimenting with the bluetooth audio on my tinkerboard. The issue is both present on the last rockchip-next (4.1x I think) and the rockchip-current 5.8.18 kernel. I am using bluez and bluealsa. The problem is specific to the onboard bluetooth, using an external bluetooth dongle (a cheap and old CSR Bluetooth 3.0 dongle from China) works as expected, I can even send audio to multiple devices simultaneously (quality is very bad, but thats a bandwidth problem). As long as I just connect one bluetooth audio device everything is fine. I can have multiple paired, but disconnected, devices and as long as I connect and p…

Hi all, looking for a bit of advise. I had an idea recently in that I have a problem of syncing a 20Tb USB 3.0 RAID0 drive with a 20Tb NAS. I have two fully duplicated RAID0 drives with no protection, so whenever I upgrade the capacity of a drive, I do a full sync. I do this maybe once a year. Whenever I have to do a full sync however it usually ties my MacBook up for a few weeks to transfer that much data over, so I had the idea recently of having a maker board do it since Linux/Armbian supports HFS+, I can just do an rsync between the two. I opted to purchase a Tinkerboard for the GigE Ethernet (I'll live with the USB 2.0), installed, up and running all…

Hi, i get a probleme with the actual uart acces config by default on Uart2 (pin 32, 33), because i need to use PWM pin (use to set motor speed with a L293D) and on the board only pin 32, 33 can be use with PWM. Now i am using 32 33 pin as PWM but if the cable on these pin is connected the board doesn't boot, maybe because the uarts of u-boot use these pin and the result of un connected cable to my setup = Critical fail. When i remove the cable on pin 32 the board boot. So i need to solve that because i don't want to disconnect this cable at each start and i want to use uarts with this setup. I need to change uart2 to uart1 or find a way to get PWM or a other pin option …

Hi folks... Looking at RK3288 on Armbian and the power/thermals - which are considerable considering SBC's like tinkerboard and miqi Currently - looks like all cores are following the same power/time domain - so one core goes fast, and the others follow, so sucks power and raises temps, and we get heat soaked quickly... Looking at the Rockchip docs, it does look like the RK3288 does have PD's for each core along with other logic... Six separate power domains for every core to support internal power switch and externally turn on/off based on different application scenario * PD_A17_0: 1st Cortex-A17 + Neon + FPU + L1 I/D Cache * PD_A…

Sorry bad English. I advise that I'm a noob. I have a MKS TS35 v2.0, that uses ST7796/ILI9341 (or ILI9486, I think) for LCD and ADS7843E for touch, and now I want to use it in my Asus Tinker Board for Klipper. I know that it's possible because exists one HOW-TO of this for Raspberry Pi 3b+. I wanna that someone, with knowledge in Armbian and Tinker Board, build (adapt) this DTS on GITHUB https://github.com/fbeltrao-br/mksts35/blob/main/mksts35v2.dts. I want this especially because the pinout https://github.com/fbeltrao-br/mksts35/blob/main/pinout.png, that is more easy for me understand what pins I need connect.

Hi there, I have set up a tinkerboard S and I'm loving armbian so far. I only just encountered a weird problem. When i try to code in spyder3 there seems to be a messup in the keys i press and the key that is produced in spyder3. The funny thing is that this only occurs in spyder. When I type in terminal or gummi everything works fine. I am connecting to my TB using vnc using X. I've googled a bit around and found this could be a error of the XKEYBOARD as written here (I am however still not sure): https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/issues/3713 However I cant apply the proposed solution. HI all, first of all, I found thi sissue adopting a new board to the CSC tree, done by @balbes150. As it seems to be a problem of RK3288 in general, I post here, in case please move the topic to the approriate place. I have a JLD076 board, and started adjusting the DTS to the schematic. According to the schematic, and the TRM of RK3289, there is a maximum number of 160 GPIOs. This is also the number I get from my schematics. So I expected th get suitable number of pins from gpioinfo (bank:number 0:19, 1:4, 2:18, 3:28, 4:26, 5:12, 6:19, 7:24, 8:10). Instead, I get listed (0:24, 1...7:32, 8:16). I tried now to set ngpios for the &…

So those of us working on getting Retro Pie working on the Tinkerboard have run into a road block. Perhaps someone here might have a clue on this? Hi there Board, I have bought my Tinkerboard after some good research with my fellow techies at Red Hat and reading thoroughly that 19+pages Tinkerboard Thread. After crafting a super lean/mean kernel (kconfig at https://gist.github.com/rfrht/5f0fa113f12fbacf832e57ff4967785a ), I got a stable and lightweight kernel configuration. Things got a lot funnier when doing some compatibility tests with specific Asterisk versions, I was able to install and run cleanly a Raspi .DEB pkg. And that got me thinking. I have now JUST replaced the Raspberry Pi with the Tinkerboard. And guess what: It was a _inplace_ upgrade! Using the same u…

Does the armbian build come with 3D acceleration? Or is it 2d only?

Hello people, I am trying to set CPU Governors but all the cores change to the same clock and cpufreq-info reports "CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0 1 2 3", with that even one thread working is making the CPU scale up all clocks and heat more than it should, is there a way to unlink them and each one have their own clocks according to each core processing load?

Hey! I recently got a CAN-bus up and running on a Tinkerboard running Armbian, but I've run into another problem here: The CAN-bus buffer fills up. After sending a few messages I get an error saying "No buffer space available". I've noticed that some other people are solving this by increasing the buffer size, but that seems like a weird solution to me. And it wouldn't really help me much. I need to empty this buffer when I read from it, or manually (without restarting the CAN-bus). Any ideas on how to do that? Thanks

However, Armbian is configured to provide only spidev2.0, while TinkerOS can have spidev0.0, spidev0.1, spidev2.0 and spidev2.1 all enabled at the same time as long as you disable UART4 which shares GPIO header pins with SPI0. In the TinkerOS case, there is a config tool which edits a small and straightforward text file in /boot/ containing lines such as "intf:spi0=on" or "intf:uart4=off". The corresponding Armbian file seems to be /boot/armbianEnv.txt - possibly with overlays=... lines and DTS files. There also is a tool called armbian-add-overlay to load (at runtime?) DTS files...

Installed the desktop version of Armbian (bionic) on Asus Tinker Board S and noticed that the GPIO Pin 40 is always high on boot up. Please let me know whether this is high by default for any reason and if possible how to set it to Low while start up.

Whats the correct way to get the Armbian build to spit boot out as a separate fat partition at the start of the image? Im just getting started with Armbian (on tinker board) and want to integrate it into by own build system. I need to generates SD card images with 3 different configs building 3 separate installs sharing a common multiboot 512MB fat boot partition. I dont need the Armbian build to do the multiboot or manage the boot partition at all, I just want to be able to extract the root & boot fs at the end of the build process.

probably a post bragging of my christmas gifts, but mostly just documentation because it really confused and stumbled me from the get go so, my setup was powering tinkerboard (the first revision, without the new fangled eMMCs) via GPIO because it confused the hell out of me how to power this beast. this was powered through the XL4015 buck converter 12.1/12.2 V on input, with ammeter and voltmeter included on the board. (the board was current limited to 5A, because why not? the rk808 is 6A tops) ok from the get go the board powers (not load tested, just power through and run kodi-gbm UI) from 3.4V to 6.2V. undervolting or overvolting it doesnt shuts itself dow…

I confess, I have no idea what to do with the contents of this repository. Any help would be great, as I've said before, my Linux experience is lacking on things, the work I do is usually in hardware with kiB of RAM... I'm working on the assumption that this would be the best lib to install, if I'm wrong, let me know. https://github.com/rockchip-linux/libmali

Anything targeting the mainline will be getting 4.12 tonight, I can confirm some patch failures for Tinker Board/MiQi NEXT, Specifically: 0002-Adaptation-ARM-dts-rockchip-fix-the-MiQi-board-s-LED Was patched in the kernel. 9002_dts_rk3288_updates - Fixed and the packaging postinstall-scripts patch specific chunk: scripts/package/builddeb There is no "Provides:" statement.

If anyone has troubles with HDMI when using 5.x kernels, and has enough skills to recompile an armbian, give this a try : https://github.com/Miouyouyou/build And then either answer here, or in the bug report : https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/1887

Hey everyone I've compiled my own kernel using this awesome tool, and I'm now running it on a tinker board. Everything's been working fine, except for one annoying thing I just ran into: I can't use the GPIO pins. When I try to use a pin in python I just get this message back: "RuntimeError: This gpio is set to other function!". If I run Debian I can use the gpio just fine, but I need some kernel modules that doesn't ship with Debian. That's why I've compiled my own armbian kernel. Anyways, any idea on how to fix this? Any special module I should add when compiling the kernel? Thanks Marius

I downloaded the kernel source and kernel headers on a rk3288 rockchip (tinkerboardS) and noticed there was a mismatch between kernel version, armbian release and chipset (rockchip64) - see below. root@tinkerboard:~# uname -a Linux tinkerboard 4.4.174-rockchip #7 SMP Sun Feb 10 11:57:26 CET 2019 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux root@tinkerboard:~# cat /etc/armbian-release # PLEASE DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BOARD=tinkerboard BOARD_NAME="Tinkerboard" BOARDFAMILY=rockchip VERSION=5.75 LINUXFAMILY=rockchip BRANCH=default ARCH=arm IMAGE_TYPE=stable BOARD_TYPE=conf INITRD_ARCH=arm KERNEL_IMAGE_TYPE=zImage root@tinkerboard:/usr/src# …

Greetings, On the tinkerBoard, I'm using python. I having difficulty understanding why the functions don't return the values that is expected according tho the library help. I'm using python3 and the ASUS GPIO library. import ASUS.GPIO as GPIO GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BOARD) This is the output from ipython: In [18]: help(GPIO.gpio_function) Help on built-in function gpio_function in module ASUS.GPIO: gpio_function(...) sorry just switched my box for the first time in a long time. i was wondering if i can seamlessly upgrade to the latest Armbian without losing hardware acceleration included in RK3288/RK3328 Legacy Multimedia Framework or is it only for Debian Buster? is kodi-gbm (RKMPP) still viable? is there a compatible version much higher than 18.9 "Leia"? thanks!

Running Armbian Desktop stable 4.14y my Tinkerboard sees the WiFi network but refuses to connect. It has worked with TinkerOS so I don’t think it’s hardware related and Iknow the passcode and WPA settings look right. When I try to connect it spins and then fails after timing out. armbianmonitor -u output (with ethernet attached) http://ix.io/1x1J I’m probably just missing something stupid. Suggestions?

Hi! I'm using Tinkerboard S R2.0 in headless mode, but with LightDM (kiosk mode). It's connected to HDMI display, and I soldered display's backlight on/off contact to a relay that can turn on/off the backlight. I see that Amrbian turns off image output (launches screensaver as a black screen) after 10-15 min, but I could not find out where those settings are stored. Please help to find out.

Hello and thanks for reading. I have done some digging before posting this so let me explain my issue and then what I have tried. I am using the Tinker Board S (via SD card, had same issue using EMMC img also) with the Bionic mainline kernel 4.14.y (in armbian config tool it shows Armbian 5.60 Stable ) on an LG 24LF452B montior/tv with the boards HDMI port and no adapters. I have been trying to set the display resolution to 1366X768 or as close to it (it does not appear in the display settings menu natively) but cant seem to make this work. The display works fine on other resolutions, except for horrible image because the wrong resolution, and can be used on 1366X768 …

Hello Guys. สมัครสมาชิกufabet เว็บพนันบอลต่างประเทศ I want to extend the current kernel (Tinkerboard with rockchip-kernel-4.4.120 on Debian-Armbian) to include IR (GPIO) and DVB modules. What do I have to consider or is this possible with the usual run-through? (copy .config from current system, make menuconfig, make, sudo make install, sudo make modules_install) Is there possibly already a tutorial that I have not seen?

I build a kernel last night because I wanted a headless debian based system, not the nightly desktop available for download.
