Hey I've managed to boot armbian on my box with S905X using meson-gxl-s905x-p212.dtb. The thing is that the screen resolution isn't properly setup. For some reason it detects Composite-1 when there's none and HDMI default is 1024x768. This isn't that big of an issue as I was able to use xrandr to fix it for my monitor. However when plugged to something bigger like TV the screen is very weird. Colors start to change color and screen has some weird artifacts. You can watch it here https://streamable.com/2615s A friend of mine has another box and it works perfectly out of the box. The TV is not the issue but rather the dtb. the meson-gxm-khadas-vim2.dtb also works but wifi…

Good Day I have a Mecool K3 Pro (S912 - 3GB) which includes an internal DVB tuner. I have installed images from balbes150 ( https://yadi.sk/d/pHxaRAs-tZiei) The latest device tree source (dts) for meson-gxm-s912-kiii-pro.dtb includes the dvb config. So the K3 boots fine without any problems, except there is no dvb interface (/dev/dvb). So I need to load the kernel modules for the AVL6862 tuner, but it is not included in the images. To compile my own modules, I can only find source drivers here: https://github.com/afl1/dvb_tv-aml https://github.com/avlogic/AVL6862 but I am unable to successf…

Good Day everyone! I have 4 of these Kata Boxes lying around the house, and due to the poor firmware of which was never updated, I was hoping to have Armbian installed to that I could place these near my DAC's to become essentially DLNA devices (Of which I hope will be painless). However, in trying to boot armbian, I have no luck whatsoever. In Libreelec, I am able to boot fine from the SD Card no problem, and since I have an opportunity to SSH, I wanted to know the device tree it was using by running the command "cat /proc/device-tree/le-dt-id," the result of was "gxbb_p200 LibreELEC:~ #." With that information, I've used the same dtb located in the dtb folder of …

Hi all, We have an issue about xhci controller, the armbian on the S905W will throw there are not enough resource controller when using hub usb 3.0 (dmess). On ubuntu, we can disable xhci by command follow on this topic https://www.systutorials.com/how-to-force-a-usb-3-0-port-to-work-in-usb-2-0-mode-in-linux/ lspci -nn | grep USB \ | cut -d '[' -f3 | cut -d ']' -f1 \ | xargs -I@ setpci -H1 -d @ d0.l=0 This command will executed and xhci controller will switched to ehci controller, this function useful for us since ehci controller can be handled a lot of resource. Another solution to disable xhci here: https://askubuntu.com/questi…

Hi, So I have an MXQ S805 box. I installed Armbian_5.44 S805 Debian Server on SD card, got the right DTB to work and its working well. I have run the install.sh file to install to NAND and that has gone well too However, when I reboot, it goes into a weird loop that basically does not allow it to boot right. I encountered this loop previously when I was trying to identify the right DTB for my box, so I am confused that much more. What am I missing? Help. Thanks.

I propose to discuss the use of TV boxes (SbC) as a multifunctional complex that can be used as a PC and a universal media center. I've been testing a lot of different models lately that may qualify for this role. Later I will publish General notes, which I got on different models of processors and specific models of TV boxes.

Hello, I have troubles tryng to boot with the last armbian 20.10 buster with my s905w box, and I think may be the problem is on this "The start system in Coreelec is not compatible with LibreELECE Armbian etc.". I boot form Emuelec (not corelec) without any problem. Maybe Emuelec=Corelec boot so I can't boot from armbian? Thanks

Hello, I find armbian awesome and my problem is because of the manufacurers. I basically want to play accelerated video (because I need 4k). I tried amlogic, but it is not still supported (https://linux-meson.com/hardware.html) the status is partial for the chips I tried. I don't what "partial" means but I can hardware decoding. I also tried allwinner, several chips. In this page https://linux-sunxi.org/Sunxi-Cedrus I see that it is supported but I tried with new kernels, old kernels... Nothing worked. I always reach a point that stops me (like segmentation fault when loading sunxi modules, system freeze when using vdpau, compilation errors due inco…

Hi all, I've just installed @balbes150 excellent Ubuntu image on the X96 tv box. Everything seems to work fine, thank you! Did anyone get WireGuard to work on the 5.0.2 kernel? I have been happy user of Vscission V88 Piano board for some months running Armbian and ZFS, but yesterday after some trouble rebooting like 20x after the box hang during an attempt to clone a Corsair 32GB USB drive, i can't get it to boot Armbian any longer! I've verified i'ts' not the SDcard nor the content in it (correct dtb.img etc) and i even downloaded another image from dl.armbian.com and tested a new SD card with no luck. It boots Android just fine when SD card is not inserted, but when inserted i see a red light and nothing on the screen. Sad since this one has enough RAM to run a lot of stuff. What could this be?

No HDMI output (Amlogic S905X3 - X96 Max Plus2). Armbian *is* running, can SSH in when up. Have also soldered on a TTL UART (CH340G - all good/can putty in to watch boot logs). If flash back to Android stock, still no HMDI out (again can adb in IP address:5555 just fine). So, to clarify, when I say no HDMI out - I mean "No Signal". This includes the vendor Uboot splash when flashed with Android firmware (on the same/original LCD that was previously working just fine). Dmesg registers connect/disconnect HDMI hot plug, but no display. Is there an efuse for HDMI out? Almost certain board is just coincidentally dead at this s…

So I have this: https://www.amazon.com/Android-Sidiwen-Processor-Bluetooth-Ethernet/dp/B07KS8J85L/ I somehow found this image Armbian_20.05.0_Rk3328-tv_buster_current_5.6.0-rc4_desktop_20200312.img that I cannot remember where I opbtained it. Anyway, I wrote it to a 32 gig SD card using win32diskimager and successfully booted into armbian on the box. Oddly it would not boot from a USB stick from any of the ports. My question is, is there a dtb for this box that has the wi-fi and Bluetooth working? A plus would be the ir and power led as well. I know this is unlikely but couldn't hurt to ask. I do not think that audio over HDMI is working but cannot…

Balbes150, I made a image with your git lib and 905X kernel. Using your config-4.9.26+ with settings non debug and 1000Hz timer and using Debian testing Xfce repos. Why it uses only half screen with Sunvell T95Z Plus Amlogic S912? To get this far you need to fix a lot of gcc 6.3 compilation errors from the display driver. In many places { and } were missing in if statements and there were two illegal C code lines like it would be a python program. There is no audio driver and I tried to port it from the 3.14 kernel, but it is too much work. The linux mainline kernel can have support for hdmi and audio soon: http://linux-meson.com/doku.php . …

Ok fairly new to ARMBIAN.... Possibly 3 hrs in. I have it running on an MXQ media box, all fine but no wi-fi... Put in an old D-Link DWL-G122 usb stick and whilst it's recognised by the usb sub system no driver gets loaded. I have installed armbian-firmware-full and there seems to be relevant firmware for the RALINK devices. but iwconfig does nothing and the device does not show up in "nmtui" I have to admit it's probably 13-14 years since I had to manually do anything with a linux driver so I am rusty! Any ideas? Cheers TT

I have now burned an image to SD card, Armbian_20.02.0-rc1.037_Aml-s9xxx_bionic_current_5.5.0-rc6_desktop_20200205 That is supposed to be compatible, what is the next step to get this to boot on Tanix S912. Is there maybe a simple script to change the Tanix to boot alternatively from SD and Android installing required changes, or do i have to edit some file and install something on the Android device to get it going? A stepwise explanation would be nice, what file to edit where it resides, and what extra software to install. JT

Hi folks, I'm currently running @150Balbes "Armbian_5.27_S812_Ubuntu_xenial_3.10.99" on a S812, but with some minor issues. Ethernet only 100Mbits (Realtek 8211F). Kernels newer than 3.10.99 won't boot (but will try to determine why, when I get my UART Adpter.) So after all, I'm thinking to replace this box, with a more current one. Purpose of this box: running an "Emby-Server" with external HDDs and probably "Pi-Hole". Which box is recommendable for these purposes? thanks in advance

Hi everbody, last week I bought a TV-Box X96mini 2 GB / 16 GB. After reading the FAQ (thx @SteeMan), it was easy to set up this little box with the image provided by balbes150. (thx @balbes150) Most of the hardware is working fine, with the meson-gxl-s095x-p212.dtb, which is found on /boot/dtb/amlogic. There is a problem with the lirc support, but using triggerhappy will do the job. Thx @Alexey Woronov, https://forum.armbian.com/topic/11161-lirc-on-armbian-buster/?tab=comments#comment-83995 Another little problem is audio. Basically sound works, but volume from the audio jack is much too low. Only when I'm turning the volume to the max, I'm able to hear something.…

I have a TX5 PRO that i flashed with Armbian a while back. Yesterday i decided to upgrade to the latest focal image from this forum (was running an RC version of focal). Booting into the image worked fine, and flashing it to emmc didn't give any errors. However, now the board will not boot. Not sure if i used the 'shutdown' or 'reboot' command, but after installation finished i intended to boot from emmc, but it didn't boot at all. The light stays red, but i recall the light being blue when powered on, so it looks like it is in sleep mode. Power cycling the device does not work, and i can't find the remote (might have been thrown away). Is there any way i can force i…
