  3. In the latest image for NanoPi M1 Plus, I enable the analog audio I/O on the card by adding overlays=analog-codec in /boot/armbianEnv.txt But the microphone on the card is disabled by default, because the ALSA control "Mic1 Playback Switch" is set to false by default on the card. Worse still, this mixer control does not appear in the alsamixer GUI, and the only way to set to true is to use the amixer command line utility, for example with: amixer cset name="Mixer Capture Switch" on on I can do this inside a first boot script, and then ALSA will persist the state between reboots. But does not seem ideal, and took me a very long time to …

I have a project with "Orange PI PC PLUS" and a Realtek 8153B usb-ethernet adapter. My big problem is that the adapter lights do not come on, even if the rest is working. On windows systems the activity light of the adapter lights up, but in linux no (I tested on armbian 5.60 and ubuntu 18.04). I've successfully installed the linux driver from realtek's website, but the light still does not light up. Module r8152 installed and used for the device.

  10. If you're getting poor/bad audio performance from an audio VST on the N2+, it can sometimes be the context switching between the BIG.little ARM cores. In my case, Pianoteq was giving me a lot of x-runs and wide fluctuations in performance when it switched between the 2x low-performance and 4x high-performance cores. One way to get more stable performance is to assign the application to the 4x high-performance cores like this. taskset -c 2,3,4,5 'Pianoteq 7' On the N2+ the 2x low-performance are numbered 0 and 1. The 4x high-performance cores are 2,3,4,5. 'Pianoteq 7 STAGE' is the name of the application being assigned. This is more useful …

  12. So I was trying to compile a wifi driver for a somewhat new usb wifi device and it breaks during compilation because it expects a directory named /usr/src/<linux-headers>/arch/aarch64 but on NanoPi NEO3 the directory is named (on NanoPI R4S is the same case btw) /usr/src/<linux-headers>/arch/arm64 In order to make it work, I created a symlink under the "arch" directory called "aarch64" pointing to "arm64" and I was able to compile it. 37. Some people noticed that Pulseaudio mixes is showing "Built-in Audio" for all the audio devices of the SBCs. I investigated and found that the issue is related to ALSA: the devices are not really exposed by their real hardware connection (HDMI, SPDIF, ...) but just as "hw" devices. Pulseaudio is interpreting this as built-in audio because does not know anything else of the device. I'm no ALSA expert at all, copied some already existing configuration files without really understanding what I did, I found a solution. To solve the problem with SPDIF and HDMI you need to place the following two configuration files in /usr/share/alsa/card. Call the…

The problem is that along with my OPi PC I use a cheap wireless adapter based on the MT7601. Here, I've found out that the support for these cards had been merged to upstream since 4.2 kernel versions indeed with Armbian Focal 5.10.4-sunxi it worked out of the box like a charm. Unfortunately, it isn't the case with the version I'm currently on, this adding another massive headache! I've found this really interesting thread where it is discussed how to add support for the MT7601. Everything went fine apart …

I'm looking for the ability to extract coarse motion estimation from the h.264 encoder. These vectors are calculated as part of the compression algorthm and should be done on the hardware in real time - just a matter of extracting them. This extraction is done on the Raspberry Pi with "raspivid -x output". It is also exposed in picamera. Does anyone know if there is a similar capability to extract the motion vectors? 76. Are there any commands to show information that could tell me about the level of power consumption ? E.g.: energy saving state of CPU or the like ? On the SBC i am using, i think the power consumption is lower when running the same setup with kernel 5.4, and higher with legacy kernel 4.4. Alas, 5.4 has other problems, so i want to try to figure out what settings/features reduce power consumption in 5.4 and maybe i can then configure them equally in 4.4. This is rockpi4a rockchip3399. If there is nothing generic enough about the topic, i can ask on the forum for that chip.

  97. I try to boot Armbian build for Rock Pi Model B but the screen stays black. The Armbian Download Page says for Model SE use Model B builds. Is there a configuration that i can change to make it work. I hope somebody can help me.

  98. Hi I am referencing below from this closed thread: So currently I set up wifi through an initial ethernet connection, but the issue is when the wifi connection is successfully setup, that connection does not become active until ethernet is unplugged and board rebooted. Wifi is setup through nmcli...is there an option we are missing that is preventing both network interfaces from working simultaneously? currently just using "sudo nmcli dev wifi connect ssid password password"

  100. Started by JORGETECH,

Last time I tried to update to Buster I noticed OpenMediaVault had issues (due to missing repos I think). But now that OMV 5 has been (apparently) released it should be a non issue upgrading to Buster. Has anyone had isssues upgrading to Buster with OpenMediaVault installed as of recently? Thanks in advance.
