Good morning all! I started with sbc when first Raspberry pi appeared (256MB of ram!), now i bought an Asus Thinkerboard to use with Zoneminder as server in an low power cluster video-surveillance system (at my home). OS: Armbian 5.30 Ubuntu Xenial next 4.11.4 from ufficial torrent. The board works just fine, except frequent hangs after 5-10 minutes of use. I tried with different power supplies on micro usb port (2 of raspberry pi, 2.5A@5.1V and an external battery phone charger, i have also connected an 1x1000µF capacitor across gpio 5vcc terminals and ground); measured voltage seems to be ok. The system doesn't have any usb device …

Hello, I've faced some issue with rebooting nanopi-m2 (debian jessie) after unplugging or power off sbc. If it's powered on again, I can see only that the blue led constantly lights, and that's it. In this case, it can be booted only by pressing reset button on the board. Is it okay for nanopi, or am I doing something wrong?

I'm fiddling with a PCDuino3 Nano and the tech specs say it needs 2A to run, but my own small bit of testing shows it using much less. Is the additional current rating for worst case scenarios or additional USB devices? I made a tiny bash script to monitor /sys/power/axp_pmu/ac/amperage and /sys/power/axp_pmu/ac/voltage but I'm not seeing those figures. Idle with nothing connected except power, 1Gbps ethernet, and a 16GB SD Card: Same as above except with sysbench loading both cores: I still need to get a USB wifi adapter for this, but I can't see that adding more than 100mA to the max which was around ~450mA.…

I'm powering a few Orange Pi Zeros, so I don't have any choice but to use USB for power (well, more or less). So, I spent some time searching for the right power adapter. It has to be at least 2A and only have one plug (to keep people from plugging in their phones). I thought I found the right product and purchased 20 of them. I was having issues with not booting from the microSD card and was really lost as to why this problem kept popping up. Anyway, I thought to double check the power. I wasn't getting more than 700mA -- sometimes much less. And so, I decided to look deeper...

Test setup: After the micro-USB thread where I showed that USB cable and charger matters, it’s time to speak about SD-Cards. For this I buyed a cheap SD-Card from aliexpress claimed to be a 8GB class 10 SDHC. Spoiler Since I have no other 8GB cards I’ll compare this card with a Samsung EVO+ 32GB card which I usually use with my SBCs. After arrival, I did (as recommended by the armbian getting started guide) a first H2testw to check if the card is in a good shape (test results in german). Spoiler Achtung: Nur 7659 von 7660 MByte getestet. Der Datenträger ist wahrscheinlich defekt. 7,4 GByte OK (156…
