A small patch addressing some power monitoring related issues: 1. The script was always writing to the "REG 82H: ADC Enable 1" register (on each login). 2. The value being written (0xC3, raising bit 6) was overwriting the old one, wiping out other bits that may have been enabled. On my cubietruck for instance it defaults to 0xFF, not 0x83, so that "i2cset" call was effectively disabling/zeroing the /sys/class/power_supply/ac/current_now thing that I use for calculating and graphing the power usage in munin. 3. Raising that flag (bit 6, Battery current ADC enable) seems irrelevant to the bash.bashrc.custom script, as it doesn't appear to read that curren…

Dear All I Need to implement : http://www.bananapi.com/index.php/forum/interfacing/1575-socketcan-dirver-for-a10-a20 Based on http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/379-learning-device-tree/ I have to do patch to arch/arm/boot/dts/sun7i-a20.dtsi (to add can port) and arch/arm/boot/dts/sun7i-a20-cubieboard2.dts (to move led pins to another PE04/PE05) I take copies of dts and dtsi files from my previous build (so it's touched by igor's script), and make some modification and create a patch 1. cb2can-dtsi.patch : patch to activate can0 at PH20 and PH21 --- a/arch/arm/boot/dts/sun7i-a20.dtsi 2015-11-02 13:10:58.000000000 +0700 +++ b/arch/arm/boot/dts/sun7i-a20.d…

Dear All ... My board is cubie2. Let's say I want to move led pins to pins other than PH20-PH21. In 3.x kernel , all we need to do is edit the fex file and compile it to script.bin. The edited parts is (from PH20/PH21 to PE10/PE11) : [gpio_para] gpio_used = 1 gpio_num = 8 gpio_pin_1 = port:PE04<3><default><default><1> gpio_pin_2 = port:PE05<3><default><default><1> gpio_pin_3 = port:PE06<3><default><default><1> gpio_pin_4 = port:PE07<3><default><default><1> gpio_pin_5 = port:PE08<3><default><default><1> gpio_pin_6 = port:PE09<3><default&g…

Hi there, I have now finally managed to apply the RT Kernel patch on the Bananapi. (Original Patch here: https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/3.4/patch-3.4.108-rt136.patch.gz) The patch did not work out of the box and I had a bit of hassle to fix all of the rejected bits. To me the Banana Pi is best suited for audio production since it is very affoedable and it already comes with a usable audio out. To get the full benefit of the RT kernel patch it was necessary to thrn also reduce the buffer size of the inbuilt sunxi -codec audio driver. I can now play a synth using a buffer size of 512 samples glitch free. Here are some numbers: ansum@ba…

I am working with a Hummingboard that has the 3.14.14-cubox-I kernel on it (was given to me with that version on it). I need to add a module (specifically g_hid.ko HID Gadget Module) which was not initially activated in the kernel build. I’ve tried making the module from the git repository (https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib) and succeeded in building it, but it does not work on my hummingboard as a the module has vermagic of 3.14.14+ while my hummingboard has 3.14.14-cubox-i. I know I could just flash this new kernel onto my device, but I have some customization in place all ready so I would like to avoid that. So I am looking for help as to how I can get source c…

Hi, I am having some trouble to compile the kernel after I have made some minor changes to one of the source files. to minimize recompilation of unchanged code files I chose the following settings in compile.sh: KERNEL_ONLY="yes" SOURCE_COMPILE="yes" KERNEL_CONFIGURE="no" KERNEL_CLEAN="no" to avoid having my changes overwitten by the original files I set FORCE_CHECKOUT="no" # igre manual changes to source I am afraid I have not managed to recompile the kernel using these settings. What happens instead is: (1) the script still tries to sync with the source but produces some error messages: error: Your local ch…

I created a Wheezy and Jessie image. Whenever I try extracting the Jessie image, I get a CRC error. I am using 7zip. I tried extracting the zip also using Windows Explorer (Win10) and it also runs into an error. It seems like there might be an issue with the Jessie images being created. I cleaned my output folder and created a new clean image and still run into the same problem. This is using the latest libs and creating a 4.2.3 image (the default settings in the lib config). FYI, the Wheezy image extracts without any problems. Any ideas why the Jessie image is corrupt? Thanks.

I have several users following my move Linux to SATA on the Banana Pi guide using Armbian with Kernel 4.1 and they are saying that uEnv.txt on the boot partition isn't there. Is this a bug or is the procedure different for armbian? Can you shed any light on this?

Hi, Igor, it is a wonderful thing you got going on here I would to add applications to the image by either installing them as anyone would (apt-get install ...) or by compiling source code for the desired applications. What would be the approach to do so? I tried reading the messages on the forum and the documentation but could not find a way to do so. Example: Mono (can either be added with apt-get or compiled. Greetings, everyone I decided to try armbian for my recently acquired cubox-i4pro. Unfortunately it was missing some kernel modules that I require. No problem, it is easy enough to change the kernel configuration and recompile! Debian Jessie (main system) is even listed as a working development environment, so I thought I would test the included compile script using the instructions from the github. I had recently completed some cross-compilation (for armel, not armhf), so I manually updated the dependencies and read through instructions and looked through the script before getting started. First I compiled the kernel only with the following settings: KERNEL…

First a very big "Thank you", Igor. You create wonderful images. But now the problem. I want to boot the A20 from an eMMC Flash. I use a HAOYU New MarsBoard A20 Dev Board. The reason: the CM-A10/A20 PCB has a footprint for an eMMC. So the 8GB NAND was removed and replaced by a 2GB eMMC. Then I took the Pecovnik Olimex Lime2 Jessie 3.4.108 image and added the fex file from the MarsBoard SD image. After a fex2bin the MarsBoard bootet from SD0. Life was beautiful. The problems start if I wanted to contact the eMMC. I changed "[nand_para] nand_used" to 0. And I changed "[mmc2_para] sdc_used" to 1. Then the kernel gets in serious problems: <6>[mmc-msg] sdc2 se…

Hi all, I have a bananapi and I have installed the debian Wheezy image with kernel 3.19.0. Now, I’d like to upgrade to kernel 4.0.4 to see wether the ananlog audio output is supported; so I downloaded all the deb packages from the website and installed them, but after reboot the system is still using kernel 3.19.0. How can I switch it to use kernel 4.0.4? I guess I should edit something in boot.cmd and convert it to boot.scr, but what should I change exactly? Thanks in advance for your help!

I posted a git issue for the Banana Pi image that the mainline kernel wasn't working with OpenMediaVault (at the time I think it was 3.19.3 or .4). It is now working with mainline 3.19.7 so all is resolved. Will release an openmediavault image when I find the time

I have lost track with which Banana Pi image supports modular PMP out of the box. Do any of your images have dvb header support like Raspbian?

I am going to use your Banana Pi image for my media server image release. I would like to know how to re-enable the regenerate ssh keys and resize the SD card on first boot (I want the password to stay the same).

Serial connection: Hardware schematics: orangepi-plus-h3-v1_1.pdf Wireless: Realtek RTL 8189 ETV Allwinner introduced new way of storing board definitions (also on A23 and A80) so it's a bit different than on A20 boards. H3_Manual_build_howto Kernel building with Allwinner SDK is terrible and was not able to build it. I must admit I haven't invest much time and energy yet.
