Description A recent patch in mainline kernel broke gpio bank2 for rk3328 targets. Several rk3318/rk3328 users described the inability to boot from internal eMMC and other problems (led not working, for example). For reference: forum thread This PR takes the mainline kernel patch from the mailing list and applies the correction patch from https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-rockchip/patch/20240709105428.1176375-1-i@eh5.me/, while waiting for kernel guys to mainline the fix. rpardini's bag-of-stuff incl fixes - early June/'23 I'm back at it, fixing and breaking stuff. Fixing: prepare-host: check_host_has_enough_disk_space(): don't check if dir does not exist; fixes #5246 distro-agnostic: don't assume armbian.list exists when seding for beta pipeline: repo-reprepro: run clearvanished & check before adding to repo Breaking: BREAKING CHANGE: patches failing to apply now break the build. fixes #4958 also break on legacy process_patch_file() failure, remove EXIT_PATCHING_ERROR repo: split image apt .list deployment into image-early (after rootfs extract, before building) and image-late (after building) rationale: having the re…

big batch of all-around fixes (Version prefix, issues) Sorry for the long PR, but sending each of those separately is pointless, they make sense together and depend on each other for the most part. 👉 The .deb Versions are now prefixed with $REVISION (VERSION file), which should solve for much crazy when using the Armbian repo. This is still keeping the cache key and .deb Version: tied together, and will need more work down the line. This is a good enough fix for now, since keeping hit ratio across releases is not yet our priority. don't use "bright black" ANSI for logging unless we're running under a known-good terminal (eg, iTerm2) docker: fix: pass down OCI_TARGET_…

rpardini's fight with space-containing PARAMs - early May/'23 Turns out @mhoffrog was right, repeat build params need escaping. This simple rabbit goes down a hole that spans the JSON config-dump output, the pipeline JSON parsing, and the GHA matrix encoding. Phew. pipeline: correctly quote params passed over pure strings (eg in the GHA JSON matrixes) so values with spaces are not mangled bash_declare_parser: parse space-separated single-quoted array values correctly ('THIS=has space' is a single token, not two) aggregation: armbian_utils.parse_env_for_tokens() now actually does what it said on the box "split by whitespace, line breaks, commas, and semicolons"; add a…

Description All RTL drivers have interesting working mode: -DCONFIG_CONCURRENT_MODE With this mode we have two or three interfaces: wlan0, wlan1 and wlan2 This useful, when we need both STA and AP/P2P-GO on one wifi card. But wlan1 is not working in the 8189FS driver. We can create AP/P2P-GO on wlan1, and it is shown on any STA, but can't receive any RX packets. At the same time, wlan2 always works fine! That is mysterious! But after a few investigations, I found the reason: wlan0 and wlan1 have the same MAC! :) For example: wlan0 xx:xx:xx:xx:a5:8d wlan1 xx:xx:xx:xx:a5:8d wlan2 xx:xx:xx:xx:a1:8d Originally, MAC changes only for if2 and later interfaces. This looks lik…

Description Most of Realtek drivers have a bug: P2P IE not passed to AP beacon. This causes problems, when P2P-GO looks like a regular AP. All P2P capable devices can't see my P2P-GO in the list. Use multiple consecutive reads in rtw_sdio_read_port() to limit the number of bytes which are copied by the host from the card in one MMC/SDIO transfer. This allows receiving a buffer that's larger than the hosts max_req_size (number of bytes which can be transferred in one MMC/SDIO transfer). As a result of this the skb_over_panic error is gone as the rtw88 driver is now able to receive more than 1536 bytes from the card (either because the incoming packet is larger than that or because multiple packets have been aggregated). Disabled: 001-revert-rtw88-sdio-size-and-timout-to-rfc-v1.patch Checklist: [ ] My code follows the style guidelines of this project [ ] I have p…

After rtw_usb_alloc_rx_bufs() has been called rx urbs have been allocated and must be freed in the error path. After rtw_usb_init_rx() has been called they are submitted, so they also must be killed. Add these forgotten steps to the probe error path. Besides the lost memory this also fixes a problem when the driver fails to download the firmware in rtw_chip_info_setup(). In this case it can happen that the completion of the rx urbs handler runs at a time when we already freed our data structures resulting in a kernel crash. This has been applied to wireless-next https://lore.kernel.org/linux-wireless/8b4b4228bfd140119665417137a087ea@realtek.com/T/#t [ ] My code follo…

This update ensures that ./userpatches/kernel/pre-config.sh runs before the kernel's make menuconfig command. Users can now place configuration instructions in this file instead of manually configuring the kernel. The pre-config.sh file may include instructions like: scripts/config --enable CONFIG_DEBUG_FS scripts/config --enable CONFIG_KGDB scripts/config --enable CONFIG_UBSAN The scripts/config utility is provided by the kernel to facilitate configuration changes through scripts. Description Hello all, This PR adds support for the Texas Instruments SK-AM62B. Features, schematics, and purchase links can be found on the board page[0]. This board is similar to the already supported SK-AM64B board but with a AM62 SoC. One big difference being the AM62 has a display controller and a GPU (IMG AXE-1-16M). Unfortunately the display controller driver is still being upstreamed and is not supported in the v6.4 kernel, so desktop support will have to wait until that is finished, we set HAS_VIDEO_OUTPUT to "no" for now. We work to ensure our silicon/boards have "Upstream First" Linux support, so this board makes use of stock upstream U-Boot and Linux, no patching needed to utilize the full set of feature. The patch was implemented on a recent fork of armbian build main. two images were built, Debian bookworm server from edge and Debian bookwork desktop xfce from current. Server testing: Analog audio was unmuted using alsamixer by unmuting Left out DACL and Right out DACR. Mpg123 was installed and used to play an mp3 file. Aplay speaker-test was also used to check left and right audio. Playing the mpg file and the speaker-test were also performed from an HDMI monitor connection. …

Description I notice that the first commit of armbian-next contains too many things (armbian-next: huge refactor, shellfmt, codesplit, logging/error handling). It's really hard to find out what changes we do, because we both split /lib/*.sh and change the code in one commit. It will loss the association between master and armbian-next. This PR is just split /lib/*.sh without changing any codes (except the first commit and the remove of source in /lib/main.sh). So users can find out where the codes come and then following the original commit log. If we want to merge armbian-next, this PR can make us more easily to find out the differentiation and review. If we don't mer…

squash some warnings (found during all-artifacts+all-images builds on CI) When building "all" the things, these kind of innofensive WARNs pile up. Clean them up a bit. Raises the estimate of 2000MiB to 2300MiB for CLI images. This was determined empirically. binfmts: don't raise warning if qemu-arm failed to load under aarch64 (some are native, some are emulated, all are good) reported by @igorpecovnik on Discord, during massive CI build, when armhf builds landed on arm64 builders logging: squash undue warnings rootfs/aptcache rootfs is built with BOARD= so just live with it (idea about this warn was that families might hook rootfs build process) count, instead of…

Description These patches fix an issue present on newer Kernels (6.1+, no idea if older kernels are affected as well), where the thermal sensors are unavailable (/sys/class/thermal is empty). By applying these patches, thermal sensors are available to use. The problem seems to be related by how Linux thermal driver drivers/thermal/thermal_of.c handles thermal zones without trips defined - if it doesn't exist, throw an error. I'm not Linux expert, but it looks like 6.1 brought some thermal driver refactoring, which might have caused this behavior. Before the patches, with logging verbosity set to 7, there's also an error present in boot log related to the sensor's init p…

Description Fix the peripheral aliases to ensure consistent allocation when enabled, so that kernel assignment matches the numbering convention of the SOC. This targets the Allwinner A10 and A20 and ensures, that for example if enabling UART2 exposes it correctly in userspace as ttyS2 rather than dynamically assigning it to the first avaliable ttySx slot. Secondly spidev overlays creates an instance of spidevX.Y based on the bus specified with armbianEnv.txt however it does not correctly configure the corresponding pins into spi mode. To resolve this the individual spi bus overlays have been include in the makefile. The desired bus must be enabled alongside spidev or sepe…

Description Reverse commit 75317a0 since this is a special case. Eliminate the real reason for the inability to boot the kernel. Linux kernel hangs in early boot on 32-bit ARM platform, when ftrace 4-byte "mcount" function call location for "_raw_spin_unlock_irqrestore" function straddles icache lines. The problem is present for (cross-compiler) GCC 10, 11, 12. It does not happen when the kernel is compiled with GCC 9, even when condition (1) is satisfied.
