Can anyone provide any information on getting the GPU driver working with a Banana Pi M2 Zero? It supposedly has a Mali 400 GPU. In my tests, it seems I am stuck with Mesa software rendering with OpenGL. When I write a program that creates an OpenGL 2.0 ES context, the vendor and renderer both list Mesa and performance is terrible (2-10 fps and GLSL shaders are incorrect) when rendering even the simplest scenes. I am using DRM (Direct Rendering Manager) with boots straight to a CLI and no desktop environment if that makes any difference. With the same code and same conditions on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, OpenGL works perfectly in my tests. I am usin…

I got the mali stuff working on my H3 on my orange pi one to great success for use with the HTC Vive, but I'm trying to get it working on my H5 on my Orange Pi Zero Plus 2. I can't seem to get any work done as far as installing the mali modules/etc since I can't find the mali node in any of the dtb's. Also, because I am trying to use the normal armbian system, instead of installing my own sunxi-next kernel. I've switched to nightly, but can't figure out how to edit my own changes to the dts's that are built to add add the extra mali node (not that I have any idea where the mali450 is on the H5!). Any help would be greatly appreciated. …

Hello guys here is a couple of questions regarding Mali/EGLFS on OrangePi One and Armbian v4.4.*. I am going to cross-compile and use Qt5 Embedded on Armbian v4.4.* and I strongly need QML engine for my development which requires eglfs plugin. Is Mali GPU supported on this version of OS ? How/where to get/compile user mode libraries (EGL+GLESv2) for this version of OS ? Thank you

Hello, about a month ago I got MangoPi QM-Quad - quite nice board, but with small support. Hardware specification: https://mangopi.org/mqquad Review: https://bret.dk/initial-mangopi-mq-quad-comparison/ I needed a raspberry pi zero board with usb-c with both host and otg ports and external wifi antenna - so after some consideration I want with Mango-Pi QM-Quad. Sadly after some work with available distributions I finally give up with trying to compile / build everything I needed and moved to getting Armbian to run on the board. Thankfully board is almost identical with orangepi-zero2 - so modification with edge kernel only required m…

Hi Back in February '15 I have started to write an instruction about the setup of a BPi-R1 (Router). In the threads of the Forum, the information is scattered and it takes so much time for each to get along. So I thought such a document would help to become not only faster, but to achieve a better result as well, as you can faster spend time with the device and tweak it. My know how is getting better, but things are still missing. If you like to help the 'community' with your know how, please leave comments in the document if you find errors or you find something missing. Google Docs Thank you in advance - for your support Cheers Tido

Good afternoon. I have an Orange Pi One and I need to achieve the maximum boot speed. The ultimate goal is a kiosk mode and the only application on the QT. The network is not needed. The simplest way will probably be to change the run level to the single mode, but with this there are problems. Any tips, suggestions, experiences?

Hi, currently my small server is running under Armbian 5.16 on Orange Pi Plus 2 board. It is using eMMC as root fs. I am expecting to get Orange Pi Plus 2E to be delivered shortly. Hi everyone, I got a problem with my beloved Armbian. I switched form a (SD-killing) Pi1 to a OrangePi. Everything runs fine except my Busware SCC (a RF interface for Homematic home automation). The module sits on the extension header and uses Pins 8 and 10 for the UART as well as pins 11 for reset and pin 12 for the bootloader. For the device to work normaly, pin 11 (GPIO17 on the rpi) has to be set high, else the device will stay in reset. Pin 12 I just left as it was on the rpi, the manual says I'm running ARMBIAN 5.36 with kernel 4.13.16-sunxi. If I understood it correct, pin 11 should be GPIO1. To set it high, I use the following code in r…

Hi Few days ago i've upgraded by armbian to the newest release version 5.17? from 5.11. The problem is, that minidlna DLNA server is only visible for few minutes after the service is started. Later i need a restart the service to make it visible for the new clients. The strange is that when i don't exit/shutdown the client, after the server discovered, it stays visible and works perfectly. But i want to make it visible for a newly started client, i need to restart the service. It doesn't seem to be client problem, as the same happens with my samsung smart tv, and a windows pc with foobar 2000 dlna plugin. What's the problem? (it maybe a broadcasting problem)

Hi, with the Cubieboard 1 there's a bug with the kernel inotify's option. The problem is that Minidlna uses this feature in order to update its dabatase, but since on Cubie it doesn't work, I've tried both ArchLinux Arm and Armbian, i can't have an updated db. Do you know if there's any solution in order to fix this issue? Maybe trying another kernel, different from the default linux-sunxi? Thanks for your time! Marco

Dear all, I copied Armbian 4.5 (on cubietruck with kernel 4.3.3) from SD to SSD using the script "nand-sata-install.sh". The resulting system with /boot from SD and rootfs on SSD works fine. Board: NanoPi NEO Air SoC: Allwinner H3 (sun8i platform) Armbian Release: Bookworm (Debian 12 base) - Tested with both beta and stable repositories. Problem Description: The SPI device node (/dev/spidev0.0) does not get created on Armbian Bookworm for the NanoPi NEO Air, preventing the use of SPI peripherals. This issue occurs despite correctly enabling the sun8i-h3-spi-spidev overlay in /boot/armbianEnv.txt. Diagnosis / Root Cause: Through troubleshooting, it was determined that the essential kernel module required for the Allwinner SPI controller, spi-sunxi.ko, is missing from the standard kernel image packages provided by Armbian for Boo…

Dear all, I'm missing ttyS1 from the devicelist on my cubietruck with mainline uboot and debian Jessie kernel 3.18. Now i can not use my bluetooth module because it is not reachable. I've searched on the internet and the defenition of one (or more) uart port seems to be missing in the devicetree dtb file. Like in: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/382-armbian-on-pcduino3/ Has anyone fixed this for the cubietruck?

Hey. I'm not sure if I perhaps caught the Armbian website in the middle of an update, but there doesn't seem to be any Ubuntu (Xenial) builds for H3 boards anymore ... with the exception of the NanoPi Neo. It's all Legacy Jessie builds right now. Thanks,

I used the wrong power adapter this morning on one of my OPI PC... what could go wrong? So far, I noticed that the poor U5 - SY8008B regulator overheated and blew. From the schematics, this seems to be connected to "AVCC" (the H3's PLL and the TV out). U11 isn't outputting anything, but chip select is off. Since this is the USB host, I'm not too surprised. Is it worth trying to reflow a new regulator on ? Wondering...

https://github.com/MaverickLong/MLIR-TIM-VX This is an MLIR-based lowering path from the TOSA v1 dialect to TIM-VX, VeriSilicon's OpenVX-based GPU/NPU ML Framework. It includes the lowering from TOSA v1 to a custom timvx dialect (mirrors the TIM-VX C++ semantics) and a full lowering to C++ source. It is currently on par in inference speed with the vendor ACUITY compiler pipeline while still giving you full control on the graph level. In my own testing, on a Radxa Cubie A7Z \w Allwinner A733, ResNet-50 takes 8.0ms to inference, while the ACUITY-compiled baseline takes 7.3ms according to Radxa. It all starts with Radxa/VeriSilicon's fa…

I'm not familiar with the a64 graphics driver and some tty graphics software of mine is failing on Armbian Ubuntu Focal after working fine on the Bionic image. Earlier I was able to mmap() /dev/fb0 to display graphics in a tty. On Focal 20.04, running linux 5.4.43-sunxi64 , mmap() on /dev/fb0 is failing with EPERM (operation not permitted). Is this new error something anybody knows about or could give a link to find a possible driver change that's responsible? It seems there might be a few different video drivers on this system and I haven't looked at them before. /sys/class/graphics/fb0/name contains sun4i-drmdrmfb /sys/class/gr…

Like whaaaaaa... Okay, so long and frustrating story short, I have been having inexplicable stability issues on my Banana Pro. I have blamed the SD card, the power supply, the micro USB cable, but none of those leads seemed to actually lead anywhere. I connected up a Fluke multimeter to the SATA power output, set to peak min mode, to see if I get any undervolting... Nope, no problem there. I ran stress tests on my sd card on my computer - it was PERFECT. I was completely stumped... Until, after getting an Anker charging cable, and having a really good run with the new Armbian release - the system had been working for an hour without glitches, apt-get worked, I hav…

Hi everyone, after getting Igor's image for Jessie with kernel 3.4.109 on January 10th, I did an upgrade and now I get: uname -a Linux cubieVDR 3.4.110-sun7i #10 SMP PREEMPT Mon Dec 28 11:48:43 CET 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux However, unfortunately I also get modprobe bcmdhd modprobe: FATAL: Module bcmdhd not found. Also, on another machine running kernel 3.4.108, everything is working fine (see my post in this forum). What do I need to do to get the AP working? Cheers…

Hi everybody, I work on my Orange Pi Plus 2 since a few days now. I've installed Armbian with linux Kernel 3.4 (Debian Jessie) on eMMC. One of my main objectives is to bond the WiFi and the Ethernet interfaces in one interface called bond0 (I've seen many examples on how to do this on the Internet). My configuration seems to be good (it's based on the default interfaces.bonding file, just changed it with my WiFi parameters). When I restart networking service, none of my interfaces get up. I've tried to update/upgrade my stystem, reinstall ifenslave. I've also checked module list with lsmod, it returns a lot of names, but not "bonding" module. …

Hey guys, I have a Banana Pro and recently switched to Armbian from Bananian. I boot from an HDD connected to the SATA port on bpi. Apparently the root fs is supposed to get resized to the max size(1TB in my case) during the first boot. But, well, it didn't work for me.. so instaed of 1TB I had 1.5 GBs. I wiped the partition in fdisk and created a new one using the old starting block(2048) but leaving the end to default. Result: I now have all the space available to me but everytime I log in it still says "90% of 1.5G". Why doesn't it scale?I know this is kinda ridiculous but I'm a perfectionist haha. ____ ____ _ ____ …

I'm not sure if I should pursue this here or if I should open a ticket through Debian Bugs. A recent update now causes mpd to segfault. mpd comes from the Debain armhf repository. I'm not sure how to determine if this is a hardware issue with my board somehow or if there is an interaction with a new kernel or if it's because the package updated the binary or a library. To make sure it wasn't something weird in my configuration I moved the conf file out of the way and re-ran mpd with the same result. If it helps, I can post an strace output of the issue. James
