  2. Hi Everyone. I intend to use this sbc with a hdmi to lcd controller (not yet arrived). I noticed the predefined resolutions do not include 1366x768. I tested on a smart tv and I with the closest resolution of 1360x768, there was a vertical purple line on the left. I could probably live with the slightly lower resolution, however if the purple line appears on my final setup, how do I remove this or is there anyway to run the full 1366x768? I have tried 1280x720 in windows and it blurs the text so that seems to be out of the questions for me. Regards, Rauli

  4. Hi all. I've been struggling for several days to establish an internet connection via enc28j60 (Ethernet to SPI device) on my Nano Pi NEO Air, running Armbian 5.27, kernel 4.11.3. I have this custom DTS file added to my armbianEnv.txt, with two small modifications regarding the interrupt pin (apparently, PA7 is not available on Nano Pi NEO Air). I have pins = "A17"; ... interrupts = <0 17 2>; instead of pins = "PA7"; ... interrupts = <0 7 2>; The DT stuff is correctly loaded during boot, and an eth0 interface shows up (initially with random MAC address upon every reboot, but it's fixed now). However, only the orange ligh…

I've got a fresh Orange Pi PC Plus 2 with the relevant Armbian loaded onto a new card. It seems to output just fine to HDMI on my workbench at home, using a relatively new monitor and a direct HDMI cable, but when I try other monitors I get inconsistent results. One is a Quimat 7-inch display that just shows a white backlight when connected to the OPi. However that display has issues with other boards so I'm not entirely worried about it. But the other display is a fairly modern ViewSonic monitor that exhibits a more confusing behavior. The monitor only has DVI/VGA so I'm connecting to it through a passive HDMI-DVI adapter. When I boot the board, the POST screen shows up …

  10. Hello, I recently bought an Orange PI Lite and wanted to connect it to my WiFi (WPA2 - Personnal) to run a CUPS server. So I connected it to my computer via the serial pins and tried to connect it to my network using nmtui. That looked like it worked well if only a bit laggy at first. But after rebooting it i noticed it was totally unreachable from any other device on the network. So I started pinging everything and started noticing weird stuff : After a reboot Nothing can ping the orange pi unless he pinged them first. When pinging another device from the pi, the first few packets are lost and all following are ~1ms. …

  16. I just got 4 NanoPi Duos v1.1 and the OTG port functions (unlike v1.0)! This is with the FriendlyElec image. I was wondering should I compare the FriendlyElec's sun8i-h2-plus-nanopi-duo.dtb to the one on Armbian? I already tried messing with Armbian's sun8i-h2-plus-nanopi-duo.dtb by changing usb@01c19000 status = "okay" and adding dr_mode = "host". I'm not sure I can just drop in the dtb? Any way, I'll see what I can figure out. I'm excited the OTG port works now for more than just power since that saves you from buying the Mini Shield if you have a simple project that just needs a USB drive or camera.

  19. Hi, Since the armbian release 5.3.6 (Linux 8 jessie 4.13.16-sunxi64) does not contain the module 'nls_utf8', one can not use the OpenMediaVault - OMV - plugin 'Remote Mount' for accessing an external HDD ... for example, which is connected to a Fritz!Box (running Fritz!NAS). Hello, I am using the Olimex OLinuxino and I find a constant noise at about 866.725MHz or thereabout in every board. While low, at -100dBm, when using it with IoT radios this is the band in India and it is quite a pain in applications requiring high sensitivity. This particular board had it pretty nasty at -86dB. I have tried with changing the DDR frequency as well as the CPU clock, however this nuisance refuses to go away. What can be done to get rid of this noise ? I have tried multiple boards -- Olinuxino (multiple), Marsboard, but each has some noise in exactly same band near 866MHz. Please advise.

I didn't liked either of the options, so I decided to investigate. My log was full of: [89201.577208] RTL8723BS: nolinked power save enter [89201.967063] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is n…

  48. Hello all. I'm having a banana Pi and two days ago I had bananian OS on it. Now after searching online I decided to install armbian because it seems the most updated and more user-friendly one. One of the things that I want to do with my Pi, is to create an AP and connect other devices to it. So I read the documentation that is online from armbian site that refers on A. How to build a wireless driver? B. How to set wireless access point? Started with the A. and following all the steps, I realized that the 8192cu.ko module was already installed and loaded because when I tried to load it with insmod command it returned m…

  49. Hi, first of all thanks a lot for every contributor, this is a great project, I'm an absolute fan! I'm running Armbian on an orange pi 2, everything works fine for a while. I'm running a homegrown python script with flask, this one works too. But after ~1-x hours, I can't connect anymore to my web service. This could be my problem, but in fact, neither SSH works. Hello everyone. I just got an Orange Pi Plus 2e, which I intend to use a as a personal cloud server. I understand that, in this board, Legacy Kernel is much better than Mainline for desktop usage (video accel, TV out, etc.), but I am not so clear about which one is better for a server. May main concerns are: Ethernet and Wifi speed and reliabililty (ethernet will conect to Internet, and Wifi to home devices as an AP) I/O speed for the USB attached HD Security Any advice about which Kernel to choose? Thanks!

  55. Well, the title is self explanatory. I am trying the new stable release for the Orange PI win from armbian (thank you guys!) but when booting for the first time in headless mode via SSH through Ethernet cable it gets stuck at "Enter new UNIX password". I put the new password and nothing happens. If I unplug the cable to force the SSH server to close the connection and then I plug it back again, the password is kept the old one (default 1234) and the problem repeats. After some tests I finally got to change the password, but it gets stuck after, or even before sometimes if I reboot. It seems that the SSH tunnel is simply not stable. I should mention that the configura…

  56. Hi everyone, I got a problem with my beloved Armbian. I switched form a (SD-killing) Pi1 to a OrangePi. Everything runs fine except my Busware SCC (a RF interface for Homematic home automation). The module sits on the extension header and uses Pins 8 and 10 for the UART as well as pins 11 for reset and pin 12 for the bootloader. For the device to work normaly, pin 11 (GPIO17 on the rpi) has to be set high, else the device will stay in reset. Pin 12 I just left as it was on the rpi, the manual says I'm running ARMBIAN 5.36 with kernel 4.13.16-sunxi. If I understood it correct, pin 11 should be GPIO1. To set it high, I use the following code in r…

I've solved the board's overheating problems by installing a 30 x 30 x 7 mm Heatsink, plus a 50mm USB Powered Centrifugal Blower Fan. At long last the board runs happily at temperatures typically up to about 40 degrees C at light to medium CPU loads, and at around 65 degrees C when the CPU is pushed to 100% utilisation. With this cooling solution, the board has been reliably running PiHole for about two months now. The 50mm fan and the big heat sink are not a very …

  60. Hi, I'd like to use kvm on the Orange Pi PC2, but the Armbian 4.14.12-sunxi64 kernel doesn't seem to enable it (or possibly the boot loader doesn't put the CPU in the right mode?). If I google: allwinner h5 kvm then the first hit shows a kernel boot log which shows kvm enabled on an Orange Pi PC2, so it looks like it's possible. I'm happy to recompile the kernel myself, but wanted to know if there were any gotchas that might mean this is disabled by default on purpose? Cheers, Tim.

  93. I have Orange PI PC Plus with GC2035 camera module. Upgraded to 4.13.6 sunxi-next mainline kernel and noticed that GC2035 camera driver is gone! Why is it so? Maybe someone forgot to include this driver to the kernel? People are still using these cameras and need them! If it was a conscious decision to remove the GC2035 camera from the sunxi-next tree - then, well, it was a horrible decision that should be reversed. Please return this driver. https://github.com/avafinger/gc2035 Earlier it was at ./drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/device/gc2035.c location, but now the directory structure could be very different...

  94. Started by Selda_bagcan,

Orange pi zero using mainline latest image. Somehow i couldn't manage to set up a c++ project with libusbgx so I am using console commands for gadgetfs for hid device emulation. I want to disable otg dual role functionality of micro usb port . I think i need to mess with overlay but i have no experience and i think i should change the usb for micro usb port but i am not sure how to do. Removing usb otg descriptor is enough too. Thanks

  95. Happy New Years, I tried an LXDE ssh "MobaXterm" session with Chromium on my Orange Pi Zero 512mb. Surprised it worked however the laggy browser page scroll and javascript animations (appearing as a really slow vsync wave top to down), does that reflect real world performance when outputting to say hdmi? This Orange Pi has no immediate way to output to my tv so could not test otherwise. Is there any video hardware acceleration being used (mainline kernel Armbian) using this method? As maybe the lack thereof is the cause of lag, along with network overheads etc. Regards, Rollmeister

  96. Hi, how are you? I'm trying configurate my OPI zero to manage users of my network using Dalo Radius (Tutorial of this forum), but I need configurate to work with ETH1 (a Gigabit USB adapter) and no have find the configuration for change this... And if I connect the adapter, I'm loss the connection with OPI... I'm using a TP-Link Archer C60 to distribute my network via Wi-Fi, but using a PSK. I want to remove the password and use via radius to add and remove users of my network, with the vantage of captive portal. Via ETH1 I don't have any idea to where start, via Wi-Fi of Orange PI I'm no try because is not usual for me... *Sorry for my bad english..…

  97. I've got a Cubieboard2 with a serial interface hardwired to PI10 and PI11 (uart5). The default Cubieboard2 DT overlay connects uart5 to PH6 and PH7, so I made a new dts, called "sun7i-a20-uart5b" with the pins like I need them: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun7i-a20"; fragment@0 { target-path = "/aliases"; __overlay__ { serial5 = "/soc@01c00000/serial@01c29400"; }; }; fragment@1 { target = <&pio>; __overlay__ { uart5_pins_a_2: uart5@1 { …

  98. Hello community armbian :). I have a trouble on orange pi plus2e armbian mainline kernel. There is no reaction of the pins after the export. echo 11 > /sys/class/gpio/export echo "out" > /sys/class/gpio/gpio11/direction echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/gpio11/value and physical pin not responding... keeping the voltage around 1.2v, when reading the same thing. I think that the physical and virtual numbering of contacts is different. And excuse me for my english...

  99. I'm looking to compile a kernel for Gentoo (Orange Pi Prime), but afaik the HDMI support has not been mainlined yet. Does anybody know how Armbian kernels have it? And is there more to it than just the kernel sources? Last time I tried, I had no luck getting output.

  100. Started by Stefan Huus Gregersen,

Hello folks, Been working on making I2S dacs work on the Orange Pi Zero, after reading on a few pages i got crazy and almost gave up and then i did some playaround and managed to make it work! And this is how i did! I am using examples from the topic here, as it was well written until i had to figure things out myself because of that stupid wifi_enable on PA20 which also is the data out on the OPI zero Thread: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/759-i2s-on-orange-pi-h3/ First up it requires a bit of soldering, removing the R69 and adding a small wire is required to access the DIN(data in) or so called PA20. What i did was just simply adding a header so i can …
