Hello dear members, I have built complete mainkernel on orange pi zero. I compiled u-boot, busybox, mainline kernel, and obtained dtb file. So, my pure system is running now. But, I do not how should I continue? For example, how can use wi-fi, how can use gpio drivers and how can import some libs like wiring pi to my pure system. What is next for development? Best Regards.

Last year I started a solar-sensing project with the Orange-Pi-Zero (256k), Armbian5.25, legacy kernel and made it work after a while. The Wifi funktion was rather poor and deteriorating, so I ordered a new OpiZero-Plus2-H3, same physical shape and connectors (I thought). Now the -P2 Armbian image 5.30 for the new board loaded perfectly, the Wifi function is really improved due to better hardware. The python part of the code works (still) perfectly. Only (most of) the gpio-functions of my project do not work any more with the new board attached. I use PA07, PA13 and PA14 for bit-bang gpio and a 1-wire sensor via the kernel. I modified the OPi-P2 fex file, shipped wit…

Hello there, I just flashed latest armbian (downloaded yesterday) on my A20 Olinuxino Micro. Version was with legacy kernel as my use case involves multimedia. SD card is Samsung Evo 128GB. Once I attach HDMI display, I can see armbian logo and something happening (booting kernel etc) just for a few seconds, then screen flashes with colors and I don't get anymore signal. I tried with two monitors with the same reult. Later today I will try using cable-f attached to pins to see wether something is happening under the hood (I expect yes). In the meantime can someone confirm this issue? What should I try in order to fix this? Thanks in advance fo…

Hello people, I'm using Armbian 5.30 - kernel 3.4.113 on a Nanopi NEO. and I'm relatively new to this stuff, so please bear with me. I successfully managed to install an LCD screen on SPI (ILI9341) using this command: sudo modprobe fbtft_device custom name=fb_ili9341 gpios=reset:1,dc:201,led:6 speed=16000000 rotate=90 bgr=1 So far so good, but the resolution of the screen is too little and can't load anything - for example Dosbox. I would want to replicate the trick that already exists on Raspberry/Raspbian, and that is to framebuffer a higher res screen (at least 640x480) on the tiny LCD's resolution of 320x240. This is the p…

Don't quite know what to expect here. The download page implies that there should be a gadget serial connection but there is nothing. I don't even see the USB DRC getting registered. Hi, I've not much experience on linux, so I want to ask some questions I don't find enough or helpful information getting an overview how things work. Not really an concrete question. My goal is to run an 10.1 LVDS Display with silent boot and CAN-Bus on an BananaPi Pro. The SoC Allwinner A20 seems to support this, the board has an connector for this kind of Display. After flashing an SD with the image for BananaPi Pro and successfully booting from it, I read the Armbian Documentation. But I don't getting an overview, how the boot and configuration of u-Boot works. After "googleing" I understand the boot-process like this: Armbia…

Greetings, I've got 2 M1 boards in front of me. The FA is running their latest distribution: http://www.mediafire.com/file/kc44mm1mdahslho/nanopi-m1_debian-jessie_4.11.2_20170905.img.zip By default the device tree for the FA has the USB controller (usb@01c19000) marked as disabled and is missing the dr_mode = "OTG" attribute. Enable the controller and Add the dr_node property and the board comes up as a mass storage device in both Windows and Linux. The board running Armbian has exactly the same device tree entries, dmesg shows the USB controller is loaded and visible with lsusb -t. When a gadget module is loaded all appears to work on…

Hello everyone. I'm experiencing some strange issue with my cubieboard and its connection to the internet. I boot it up and it works correctly, but after a day or two, I can't communicate with it using a ssh program, or vnc viewer. My other two servers that uses Linux Mint is working normally, so I think the problem is not my router. (I even swapped the Ethernet cables between my servers). If I connect a display on my cubieboard and try to ping my Windows computer, then I'm able to ssh my cubieboard using my computer. Sometimes I'm unable to connect to my cubieboard via ssh using my windows and my Android phone, but if I try using my Linux machine, I can connect with…

On my orangepi pc (legacy kernel) I'm trying to using separately the left and right channel as two separate sound cards (to be used by two different programs). I have a working asoundrc for that, but the problem is that the left channel leaks into the right one and viceversa. They also do the same on my laptop, but there it's hardly noticeable. It's not a matter of my asounrc, I confirmed it also with speaker-test. I suppose it's a hardware issue, right? BTW the right and left channel are inverted (and that could be a driver issue). This is the my asoundrc, the !default line is because one of the two programs is linphone and I couldn't find a…

Hello, I'm trying to get an "Orange Pi Zero" running with Wifi and OV534 (Sony PS3 Webcam). I can't get both running at once. So far I was used to the Grub (and lilo) boot manager(s) but the Armbian 5.31 Bananapi Debian jessie next 4.11.5 image does some things differently. I have found the file /boot/armbianEnv.txt but none of the websites I found described what I should do with it. I tried to copy it to /etc but the changes did not take effect. I would like to remove the logo and have verbose boot messages. Could somebody help me to get there, please?

Hello, I run Debian/Jessie on a bananapi pro. The board suddenly stopped working completely. When I plug the power supply, the red led shows up (not blinking) and nothing more, no sign of activity at all, like on screen (hdmi). It is very surprising as it has been running very well for two years now, with a 5V/3A power supply and a sandisk SD card (like those advised). I checked that the sd card runs well on my laptop, the filesystem was not broken and no sign of corruption so far, especially in the /boot directory, no changes made lastly in this directory : latest modification dater are a few months ago. …

Hi everybody, I work on my Orange Pi Plus 2 since a few days now. I've installed Armbian with linux Kernel 3.4 (Debian Jessie) on eMMC. One of my main objectives is to bond the WiFi and the Ethernet interfaces in one interface called bond0 (I've seen many examples on how to do this on the Internet). My configuration seems to be good (it's based on the default interfaces.bonding file, just changed it with my WiFi parameters). When I restart networking service, none of my interfaces get up. I've tried to update/upgrade my stystem, reinstall ifenslave. I've also checked module list with lsmod, it returns a lot of names, but not "bonding" module. …

I am running the newest version of armbian (5.30) on my Orange PI One, but I run into a strange issue. Whenever I connect an usb dongle (RTL8188EU), it is recognised and works, but two NICs are shown in the network manager. Also ifconfig shows interfaces, where the lsusb shows only one device. Also strange is that one is shown as wlan1, but the other as wlx<macaddress>. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?

Hello, I recently purchased a Banana Pi M2, and downloaded the latest desktop image to my SanDisk 32gb MicroSD card. Everything boots-up. However, the only interface that seems to be able to get onto the internet properly is wlan0 (Wireless). Ethernet, regardless of DHCP (registers properly) or Static does not seem to route properly. For example, I am not able to ping or SSH the device from another PC, and the Pi (itself) cannot ping/access any local IPv4 address as well. Internet access fails, and points to DNS not working properly (even though servers are specified). Tried many different methods, including taking management/control away from "NetworkManager", but …

A couple of weeks ago I took delivery of an Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H3 it has the form factor I wanted, eMMC support and HDMI which implied I could run a desktop; the H3 was also the variant that seemed to have the best support. Since then I have been trying to get a stable usable desktop environment working. I tried the latest version of Armbian legacy server specifically for this board and that works fine as far as the server version goes so then I tried to add a basic desktop but that didn't work the xOrg driver said there were no screens present and everything I tried after going to Google University failed. Then I tried a couple of distros from the Orange Pi website b…

I am using GPIO(CON3) pins 8 and 10 for a project. In BPI M1+, functions for those pins are PH0 and PH1 respectively. https://bananapi.gitbooks.io/bpi-m1-bpi-m1-plus-/content/en/bpi-m1+_gpio_pin_define.html But, when I added overlays=uart3 ,I didn't work properly . When I checked the overlay file sun7i-a20-uart3.dtbo , by changing it to .dts , I figured out that this overlay file uses PG6,PG7 pins, not PH0,PH1 pins. So, to modify the configurations without adding uart3 overlay in the /boot/armbianEnv.txt file, I wanted to edit the /boot/dtb/sun7i-a20-bananapi-m1-plus.dtb file. When I check the file, there are uart3_pins_a option and uart3_pins …

· Hello, So I tried to figure out the original dtb file used but the system by default when I boot the image without any fine configuration. But I couldn't find any information about the default dtb. I checked at /boot/boot.cmd , but nothing is mentioned for "setenv fdtfile" which was available in the old kernel. I installed the experimental version of the NanoPi Neo Air distribution on my Air a month or two ago. At the time I believe Bluetooth was not working on that version. I don't see any indication that it is not working now, but it doesn't seem to be working on my install. Is Bluetooth working on the experimental kernel? If so, should I just re-install, or is it not hard to get it working on an existing install? I just installed the latest updates and rebooted, and that didn't fix it. The symptom that I'm seeing is that if I run bluetoothctl it prints a prompt, but seems to lock up.

Hello, all. My Orange Pi PC2 recently broke when doing an upgrade. So I hooked a serial cable to it and watched what it did. The error was that it couldn't find the dtb file. It was looking for "/boot/dtb/allwinner/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb" and "/dtb/allwinner/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb", but the former fails because the file is at "/boot/dtb/allwinner/sun50i-h5-orangepi-pc2.dtb". So, I put a simlink in dtb/allwinner called 'allwinner' and pointing to the parent directory. Now the device boots. I'm not sure if that's the proper fix, but it works for now and I'll fix it if I manage to break something with it later on. Thi…

Hello everybody, I'm pretty new to Armbian and H3 boards. I own an Orange PI + 2 board brought more than 1 year ago, yesterday I started to play around with it and I've discovered that for some reason its Mali GPU doesn't support OpenGL ES and it's somehow related to it having 2 GB of RAM on board. I'm really not sure how it can be related, but that's what Armbian's changelog for v5.20 says: Later in v5.25 it says: So I just want to know if 2GB boards feature OpenGL ES support (as well as HW video decoding etc)? I tried to run glxheads, glxgears etc from mesa-utils package, but got some really poor FPS there + some games I used for …

The documentation on the Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 is somewhat scarce. I couldn't find information on the GPIO map for the 26-pin header anywhere, but I manually mapped it. I did this with an LED on each successive pin and testing through the /sys/class/gpio driver until I found the one to control it. This caused a bunch of resets and eventually corrupted my sd card, but I got the info Each of the numbers below is the GPIO number used for /sys/class/gpio. For example, 110 means gpio110. The list is by pin number from 1 to 26. A value of -1 means unavailable (as far as I could discover): -1, -1, 12, -1 (pin 1,2,3,4) 11,-1,6,0 (pin 5,6,7,8) -1…

I am trying to use fbtft on the Orange Pi Zero, seems broken. Looks like an issue with the SPI driver itself. My skills are not enough to debug this. Hi, I performed an apt-get upgrade on my system, and it installed the 4.13 kernel. After the reboot, i started getting the message "bad CRC - using default environment". I spent the whole day reading many threads but still didn't manage to come with a solution. I tried the symlink to /boot/dtb/allwinner from the PC2 forum, but with no luck. I bought this board recently, it is my first board and i am very new to this, although i have decent Linux knowledge. Could you point out what i might have done wrong or if i'm missing something?

[Apologies. There seem to be a number of posting close to this subject. Trying to get a definitive view] So, with the 3.4.113 kernel the gc2035 driver fails when trying to identify the sensor. The problem lies in the sensor_init function where a read of the I2C/CCI bus fails. Before I break out the breakout board can anyone verify these basics please? I've tried the various suggestions for setting one of the GPIO pins prior to loading the modules but to no avail. Hi, Got an issue with some long latency/buffer on OrangePiPC. Legacy built kernel with RT (Armbian 5.32). The default output, Audiocodec Analog Stereo, exhibits a latency of about 500ms or somewhere there, it is actually a delayed play. Other outputs do not have such latency, eg if I connect a USB audio device, it is just fine with only a few ms of latency. If it was a generic setting that would have impact on the USB audio too, but it is not, USB audio plays without excessive latency. Tried to set as low as I could the default-fragments (=8) and default-fragment-size-msec (=3) in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf to have 24msec of buffer but to no a…

I have an odd problem with a Orange Pi Zero H2+ 512mb I have samba setup with share all correctly BUT my windows XP pc cant see the share name at all unless I search for the IP then under the IP I can setup share maps on my PC and all is good. However I have tried 4 different Windows 10 PCs now and they cannot see either the server name or even the IP to get the shares :-( even though I can ping the server (OP-zero) IP address and get a perfect response. I am tearing my hair out here I need this to work on Windows 10 for a small server project I am working on. Also the exact same PCs CAN see the Shares and server easy with the exact same setup with Ubuntu 16.…

Hi! I've recently bought a nanopi NEO2 which features an Allwinner H5. On FriendlyArm website (and on Allwinner's too) it is stated that the H5 is clocked 1.5Ghz. Hi all. I followed this tutorial and I got the AP and client mode working. wlan0 using the onboard wifi as the AP and wlan1 using a usb dongle as the client connecting to my wifi network. But when I connect to the PI and got an IP address via dnsmasq I am not able to get to the pi its self. I can not access anything on the PI. I have a web server running on it. How do I get to the services on the Pi it self via the AP I created. Basically what I want to do is have the client connect to the wifi network if there is one or if the pi is in range of the wifi network. But then if there is no network then I want to connect to the…

Just stumbled upon this new board by the Friendlyarm folks. http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=197 Lots of signals exposed on the strip contacts, including Ethernet and USB, though magnetics and connectors aren't there, which makes this even more interesting to build thin appliances: you add connectors when you need them. Good! I'll probably order a couple to start playing with, but will take forever to ship over here.

Hi everyone. I have an Orange Pi Zero. 1. I installed legacy kernel to my SD card (downloaded from https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-zero/ ) 2. I made updates & upgrades. Afterwards, I downloaded WiringOP-Zero from https://github.com/xpertsavenue/WiringOP-Zero 3. Now here comes to problematic part. I checked my files as ls -aol /dev/spi* and could see spidev0.0 and spidev1.0. Then I wrote a test program for my SPI pins (MOSI-MISO-CLK), I can compile the program but whenever I try to use spidev1.0 I get this error below : Unable to open SPI device: No such file or directory …

Hi all, I'm new here. Since I bought my OPi One I didn't try any of the official images, but only armbian legacy kernel. The first OPi one I thought it was broken, no led on the board only the eth ones, nothing happend on the screen (homemade power cable with 1.4 plug and a xiaomi ac power adapter 5V 2A almost correctly given, tested with a multimeter). The image was burned on a 4gb kingston micro sd card with etcher formatted with sd formatter. So I bought another one, and I have the same identical issue. So, I started to study and I found out that I could connect to the OPi through SSH. So it what I tried to do all the night. Again image burned with e…

Hello. In my project, I want to use a linphone with support for the h264 codec. In repositories there is a version of linphone but without the specified codec. I tried to build a linphone from the source code, but failed. The matter is that the assembly of the dependent package belle-sip hangs (the assembly lasted 2 days). Hi, I have noticed very strange behaviour of my OrangePi PC Plus. Device is connected to internet via Wifi. After successful connection, device is connected to VPN service. A cron script is checking every minute if VPN is working, and if not, it is restarting connection. On every hour, Network Manager is being restarted (you will see why is that so later). On every minute NTP is querryed for time synchronisation. After VPN restart or rebooting of device, device sends an e-mail notification via GMail. On eth0 there is DHCP server running (dnsmasq), which is providing internet to a device connected to OrangePi. So basically, you plug in ethernet cabl…

(picture courtesy @renaudrenaud) We spotted a new OPi Zero variant with one USB-A receptacle missing and replaced by a second RJ45 jack a while ago (in this report where a lot of 'information' seems a bit questionable to me) Today @Icenowy confirmed existence of this board since Xunlong announced it in a chat group. I believe this is somewhat related to recently available Orange Pi Zero Plus since by looking at the picture we can see behind both Ethernet MagJacks small packages. My bet is we're talking here about RTL8211E (Gigabit Ethernet PHY connected via RGMII to the SoC) and RTL8153 (Gigabit Ethernet MAC/PHY USB2 Hi-Speed attached to the SoC). …

After setting up my static IP address, I can't SSH or Ping to the board anymore. The board shows up on my router list of connected devices, and the Pi Hole works normally. I flashed a new SD card and went step by step to see what was causing the problem. I resize the filesystem, update and upgrade the system, then I set up the static IP, so this happens. UART0 and UART3 works fine, but I need cts-rts lines from uart2 for hi speed (it's uart_type = 4, but I would like to start regular uart first). tested with picocom, ft232 & pl2303 I use 8 & 10 pins for uart 1 and 11&13 for uart2 as described at http://linux-sunxi.org/Orange_Pi_Zero Is it correct pins? Thanks

I have an orange pi+ 2e that is being used for pihole. I want to set my pi to use 1 cpu core, disable usb ports and set Ethernet link speed at 100Mb/s etc to reduce consumption however not all the changes will apply at once (see picture attached) If cpu is running at one core and ram at reduced speed, ethernet link speed will still be at 1gbps and the other way round when Link speed is at 100Mbps.
