  2. I have dd'd Armbian "stretch" onto a 16GB SD card and it's booting my CubieTruck fine. But I have no clue how to move it from there (mmcblk0p1) to my attached 128GB SSD (sda1). I've tried the nand_sata_install shell script but it appears to be a bit old (2 years), created a bunch of weird temp directories: root@cubietruck:~# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on udev 939M 0 939M 0% /dev tmpfs 202M 4.0M 198M 2% /run /dev/mmcblk0p1 15G 1.1G 14G 8% / tmpfs 1006M 0 1006M 0% /dev/shm tmpfs 5.0M 4.0K 5.0M 1% /run/lock tmpfs 1006M 0 1006M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup tmpfs …

  3. Hello, I tried to install the four versions available for orange pi plus 2e, and none of them works. I can't even log in via SSH. I know they are nightly versions, the version with legacy kernerl works great... I just write this, because I have a spare orange pi plus 2e, and i'd like to offer to try any new version.

  4. Sometimes it's unclear if my Nanopi NEO2 is still running, or fully locked up / FUBAR. Ping and SSH give no result. As there is no HDMI, I have no way to check if it's still there. So I was thinking: can I let the green LED flash each x seconds as a sign of life? Quote from Igor: "Both are accessible via sysfs, green is configurable while blue is not lit and reacting to anything. ". So a crontab script that writes something to /sys/ <LED> ... ? Feedback appreciated.

  5. It is one of the smallest board featuring H5 soc. Since it has an on-board HDMI connector, i think it would be great to have a Desktop image for this board. Other H5 /similar boards like PC2 and Prime already have various desktops available (xenial / stretch with xfce).... Do u guys have any plan to release one in the future? and thanks a lot for the tremendous amount of effort u have put into this project :)

  6. Hello there. I've got an Orange Pi PC+ SBC running desktop Armbian Xenial 5.38 kernel 3.4.113 from its eMMC that showed up pink screen after intermittent Power Up. I was using a 5V power adaptor that became faulty and intermittently became on and off. After replacing the power adaptor and booting up my device to a HDMI monitor, I found out that it now displays nothing but pink screen! Here's what I've done to no avail: 1. Turning on the HDMI monitor before and after I turn on the machine 2. SSHing from UART0 and suing command h3disp -m 5 (or 6 or 33 or 34...). No dice 3. Booting using the same Armbian OS but from SD card. SSH shows me the hostn…

  7. Hello; It was tried with armbian buster, stretch and bionic. Orange pi zero connect wpa/wpa2 networks without problems, but connect to open network. 8. Hi there, I have 2 OPi PC+, one was with Jessie, then upgraded to Stretch, Working almost fine, only one issue was "systemctl start postgresql.service" not working. I used a workaround, "su - postgres -c 'pg_ctl start'". Postgres not from repo (previously was from repo) but compiled from source, as I need at least version 10 for "logical replication". Not at some point of time, I noticed message, that kernel package is to upgrade (3.4.112 to 3.4.113). After reboot graphics don't start. "No screens found". Ok, so I tried to upgrade (apt update, apt upgrade, apt dist-upgrade after changing name in /etc/apt/ files). Now it's almost crash: - graphics …

  9. Hi, I'm using Armbian Linux on a Cubietruck A20 device configured as a media, file and backup server. Unfortunately while trying to fix a persistent SATA-cable connection problem I accidentally pushed the FEL button on the device. Now the device is always booting in FEL mode searching for USB devices, and I'm unable to reverse this. I have been looking at multiple pages about the FEL mode but I'm unable to find useful information on how to quit or exit this FEL mode and to have the cubietruck booting as it did before. Although I'm not a Linux novice, the information about FEL is quite complex and I have to admit I'm clueless about how to fix this s…

Been trying to compile the handy sysdig util in armbian. Installed it with: apt-get install -t jessie-backports sysdig sysdig-dkms After the normal install that worked, but when running gave this error: error opening device /dev/sysdig0. Make sure you have root credentials and that the sysdig-probe module is loaded. I tried: /usr/lib/dkms/dkms_autoinstaller start One of the compilation errors I manage to correct commenting the include of asm-offsets.h in /var/lib/dkms/sysdig/0.5.1/build/main.c I also managed to solve the complaints about the lack of fixdep with: make fixdep make bin2c However now when trying to compile it with /us…

  14. Hi all I have a project where I'll be deploying the same configuration (including IP addresses) to a multiple Orange Pi Zeros. There will be some slight differences (hostname, information in one script) but largely identical. I was thinking about using a Linux VM to run a script that changes a base image (from a pre-set up machine) makes the changes and burns an image onto microsd. Is this a viable approach? Will I need to change anything else (MAC address related stuff?) Cheers!

  16. I have installed the 'watchdog' package (apt-get install watchdog' on an Orange Pi Plus 2E, and it does not seem to be working as I would expect. If I write output to /dev/watchdog the system will reboot, but if I stop the watchdog service (and wd_keepalive) the system does not reboot. I did un-comment the path to /dev/watchdog in the settings file, but have generally not changed anything else. Is there some other required setup needed to allow this to function?

  17. Hello, I've recently purchased an Orange Pi Zero and have Armbian 5.25 (Linux version 3.4.113-sun8i). My problem is that the network fails after some time (sometimes couple of minutes but half an hour at most). I'm not able to ping it at all. I've checked the logs in /var/log and can't find what is wrong, at least to my knowledge. Here is the boot log http://sprunge.us/gRjf, so if anyone has any idea please share. Other logs are uploaded as well orange_pi_zero_logs.7z

Hello, I'm using the last Kernel (4.13.3) and U-boot (2017-09). I noticed that the device does not reboot each time we ask for it. It sometime get stuck and I have to start it manually, this is really annoying for my needs. I figure it out that the Device Tree from 4.13.3 introduce some improvement on AXP209 and power management. I tried Device Tree file from 4.11.x and everything seems fine. Does any body noticed it ? To finish whole process I wanted to enable wdog to start at boot, but it didnt activate after reset. After some digging in Internet and investigation i figured out that in watchdog.service file one line is missed which was in all other services. So after a…

  22. I can't get my Orange Pi working... After writing image to a SD card, the system boots up and the green LED lights up. Everything looks ok, until "Starting kernel..." line. After that the screen goes all black or displays artifacts. I tried different HDMI cables but still same issues. I've been trying with 5.25, 5.30, 5.35, 5.38 Ubuntu versions. I found out that the only way to get the system up and running was installing version 5.30, because the system boots with 720p mode. Other builds use 1080p mode. However when I "apt upgrade" the kernel, system boots with 1080p and the issue shows up again. Is there a way to "force" Armbian to use 720p mode by default?

It's weird that in legacy kernel, this register was assigned 0x00001000 by default (and the mic worked easily on that kernel). Not sure why it's changed. I'm not …

After several tries, I decided to try on a real HDMI with 1920x1080 resolution. Of course it worked. 51. Well, I have this old M1 lying around. I found use for it. However HDMI output seems to be broken and I have composite video USB dongle at my hand and it boots... but I can not do anything with it. The question becomes: How on earth can I make it "ssh login"-able from the first boot (preferably with mdns)? What should I do with the image? Auto configuration tools - as handy and nice those are - are not for this. Thanks.

  57. I've set up a HE.net IPv6 tunnel on my CubieTruck, which announces itself in the network as a router for IPv6 network traffic. However, when I transfer data from other computers via the CubieTruck, bandwidth is very bad. rsyslogd causes a very high load on the CubieTruck and transfer rates are only up to several hundred KB/s. However, when I test downloading files from the CubieTruck itself, load doesn't increase and I can use my full line speed of 4 MB/s. As rsyslogd is the logging daemon, I looked into the syslog and found hundreds of page allocation failures like the one I attached to this post. What's wrong and how can I fix this? exception.txt

Why not to add lirc_gpio support to NanoPiNeo Air ? Even if it is not planned, I try to use this patch : https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/blob/master/patch/kernel/sun7i-default/0050-lircgpio_and_raw.patch Kernel compilation is ok for me : apt-get -y install git git clone https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib --depth 1 cp lib/compile.sh . ./compile.sh I try to apply this patch now : ~/crosscompile/lib/patch/kernel/sun7i-default/0050-lircgpio_and_raw.patch I expected to have a lircgpio.ko somewhere, but nothing. Hi, I am running Armbian Jessie (4.11.6-sunxi) on Banana Pi M1. For reading and writing SD cards I use linux dd cmd on another box. I do not have a Windows system. My question is this: My SD card is a 16Gb device. With gparted I can reduce the size of the system to a partition that would easily fit on a 4Gb device. But when writing the .img file dd will still see and write an image of 16 Gb There must be a way to make an image that can be written to and booted from a smaller device to save resources on the backup disk. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

  64. Hi, After installing latest version of Armbian 5.59 Stretch, I found that CPU temperature was shooting up too high, and I figured out that the GPIOL6 controlling the VDD_CPUX between 1.1V and 1.3V is not set properly as a result the Pullup resistor R455 is holding the FET gate always high and it is always running by default at 1.3V, even though scaling_max_freq was set 912MHz. After manually switching the GPIO to OUTPUT_LOW the temperatures aren't going that high anymore. Just thought the DEVs should know. Thanks

At the time when I did buy the case there was also a faceplate for the normal H3 Neo delivered. So for the new LTS Neo2 I had to use the faceplate for the H3-Neo, because the new LTS Neo2 has the USB-Port aligned like the H3-Neo . Greetings, Some time ago, I built armbian with kernel 5.4.51. I applied a patch to two dts files that allowed for the OV5640 camera to work. By "work", I mean /dev/video0 was present in the system and /dev/media0 was also present. I could set camera parameters with media-ctl pointing to /dev/media0. Now, I've updated, and using a legacy kernel, 5.4.65, I cannot reproduce this. I've applied the same dts changes, but upon booting this image /dev/media0 is missing. Having installed Armbian a while ago and gone through all the updates, I was wondering if there is any way to determine what equivalent release my installations are at. I noticed that 5.20 is out and some folks are talking about 5.21. I'm running Jessie. Also, for me to use a more recent version of Debian, I'm guessing I would have to build the image myself? Is that due to shortcomings in the 4.x kernels on the H3 platform? I've done some digging and it seems like many (most) things are working right on the 4.x kernels? Thank you James

Hi I would like to communicate whith an arduino(as receiver) with RF 433. On a first thought I wanted to use rc-switch lib, do you know if there is a way to use it with the PI zero(transmitter) once I have installed the wiring pi zero? if not what would be my best choice as library for OPIZ (and arduino as receiver)? As MCU are better choices to drive hardware part, would it be a good idea to interface OPIZ with a ATMEGA328 as a SPI slave which one would drive the 433 RF emitter with the rc-switch lib above? This would be the overkill situation as I'm new to SPI (and OPIZ). thx

  91. Hi all, I'm new here at the Armbian board. I operate a self made house automation based on a Raspberry using a self written PHP server and Homegear. To have a better wireless connection to a differential temperature sensor, I built a Homegear Gateway based on a Nano Pi Neo with Armbian OS and a 868 MHz CC1101 module. For the network connection I use a Realtek USB WLAN NIC (Realtek RTL8188EUS-Chipset). Most of the time the gateway works. But around 2-3 times per week the gateway hangs and I cannot log on anymore. A hard restart by unplugging power is required. The only indications I find are 2 dumps of the RTL8188EU driver in kern.log…

  93. Started by fthysr,

I don't own banana pi but I'm thinking of buying it for the project we're going to do. I have raspberry pi zero but mediapipe is not working. I'm thinking of doing image manipulation and this is the most important library in my code. That's why I'm trying to do a detailed research because my budget is limited. Thank you for your help 💯

  94. Hi gang. I am having a consistent problem changing the board over boot from the SD with the system on any kind of USB attached drive. The drive I want to put it on is a 1t ssb, which otherwise formats fine, over and over again, burns images on it fine (though rpi doesn't like how much power it grabs). But I duplicated the problem with a formatted SD card in a reader in the USB port as well. The same error message appeared. Now I have to say that I have read this post here: to see if there was anything unique to the H3 to accomplish this, but Igor said there to just follow the simple directions at Getting Started, which though dated, still work close…

  95. Hi, I am working on enabling crust support in Armbian. A draft version of pull request is here. I have made the changes for the same. With my changes, crust compiles as part of building the image and gets bundled in u-boot. 98. I downloaded the jessie 3.34.112 desktop version of Cubieboard1 (Armbian_5.10_Cubieboard_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop), loaded the microSD and got the attached boot which failed. This was captured from the serial console output. The console was being echoed to the HDMI also. On the monitor, I saw the console become the graphics window, with random garbage clearing, then the HDMI signal ended. I had the HDMI, LVDS display, USB wireless keyboard/mouse connected also. FYI boot.fail.zip

  99. Hi, does Armbian still support Debian-Wheezy? On the download page is written: But I can not find a Wheezy-Image. Steffen
